The levels/layers of offense are bits that I think most people struggle to apply as they learn the things their character can do in any fighting game, and you explained those perfectly. Props on that. I do think it's worth having a follow-up on mixups beyond strike-throw (i.e. overhead/low/crossup), though I also understand that strike-throw is far more integral to SF6, so it's not like much was missed out, especially given the existence of parry. Overall, well done, looking forward to more.
Thank you man, I really do think the levels are something people don’t get, so I wanted to clear them up. But yeah, left right high lows are a whole other topic, I’ll save it for the vid about defence :)
Thanks Farajeh this has helped my offense a lot. Since i watched this i realized how often i would be going for shimmies and baits without really establishing why they should be afraid

Excellent video once again! (You can lower a bit the volume of the BG music, IMHO, sometimes it goes on par of/over your voice 👌) It would be nice to have a defence breakdown (covering options midscreen and in the corner), sometimes in the future 💪
I needed this, I don’t need to open people up, just the one mf on my friends list who’s got my custom room KD negative forever. I will, never and I repeat NEVER, be positive😭. Thanks for the video!
This video was amazing. I’m currently halfway through diamond 4 with Cammy. I’ll come back to this video to let you know I hit master using these tips. This is my first SF game so I’m still learning a lot.
I've been casually playing since 91 when the SF2 cabs first showed up, but I never in all that time parsed this out, strike throw is pretty intuitive b7ut the rest not so much and have always struggled. This is EXCELLENT education - I may not get better after this, but at the very least I'll know why now.
nice vid! for the defence video, I'd like some tips on what to do after blocking jumpins (screwed up the anti-air, when do I take my turn? delayed tech?) and what to do about command grabs
I think your neutral video is an absolute masterpiece and this is not far behind, but I do feel like some concepts could've been expanded on. I do think you are doing an amazing service to the FGC and any newcommers with these vids but I do want to give some feedback and if you're still reading comments I'd be interested in your response. - I feel like blockstrings as a whole should've had a segment. Just explaining the strength of hitting on block, depleting drive gauge, burning your opponent out and chip damage. Since most games you do lose something for blocking, it has good carryover from game to game so expanding on true blockstrings, frametraps and using frametraps to slide in fake strings and the mindgames around block pressure would've been something I wanted included. - I think other forms of mixups should've been included since while infrequent the game does have these options to open people up. It's also a decent segue to explain how parry fits into this since outside strike throw every other mixup is covered by parry explaining the unique effectiveness of strike/throw in the game. - I think mentioning delay teching as something that covers strike/throw 50/50 and introducing the need to bait and shimmy is something I really wanted included at least when you went into the layers. I do think you've done an amazing job these are just some things I feel could've made the video feel more comprehensive and I'm interested in your take on these. On a sidenote I love the fact that you used Kens target combo into run to explain combo routings I'm writing a script to make a couple short guides on the game and it's the exact same way I covered it too, it's such a great example.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video brother 🙏 in regards to your notes: So I cover the importance of hitting your opponent on block a little in my neutral video, and here I talk about jab strings and meaties. A whole segment would’ve been useful, however the demographic for these videos is intermediate to advanced, and so when I say “meaty” I just trust the viewer understands what they can do there. And simply talking about the mind games behind fake strings and etcetera would’ve been off topic; and the video would be much longer if I wanted to do tht topic justice Similar to the previous point, I simply say “meaty” and trust that the blanka (for example) player knows he can set up his doll into his mixups. Talking about parry would not have fit this video, parry is a defensive mechanic, and part of what makes these videos compact is that I stick to the fundamentals of the topic Same point with delay teching. It’s a video about offence, and delay teaching and parry are defensive techniques which will be in the defence video I’m currently working on. Thank you for the notes man, hope I cleared that up a lil lmao
A delay button is an oki option performed by pressing a button with small delay, it’s effective in catching your opponent delay teching, furthermore it can be effective as the slight delay might make your opponent panic and press a button, which will then get caught by your delay button
Waiting on the defence video! I just recently got into the game and I just do not know when the hell is my turn to attack as it just looks like my opponents turn all the time xd
Enjoyed the vid. As a fellow Ken main that made Silver. Is there a up to date guide or chart on his Oki and Meaty setups? I'm good on execution on combos just trying to stop mashing on wake up and working on my neutral/mashing in neutral.
Hmm I don’t think so. I would look around, maybe watch some high level games. Idk if they exist all in one place but you’ll be apply to find bits and pieces
hey! nice video but the music got a lil bit distracting lol. sometimes it was almost as loud as your voice so my focus went to the music instead of what you were saying in some parts
@@fararjeh it was good for a good part of the video until the later half where the music started to fight for my attention haha but otherwise it was a good video with a lot of useful informations so thanks for that!
I've been playing fighters for so long, this stuff has been ingrained into me and I didn't even know it.😅 Been playing Streetfighter since the days of the giant buttons. IYKYK.😁 Little known fact of useless information. Footsie or, as he mentioned here, the shimmy. Started with a game called Karate Champ.
Level 5 is to OD DP on your own oki, truly let the know the opponenet they're downloaded and that they have no hope. Also the music was pretty loud it was hard to concentrate on what you were saying, especially towards the end.
I actually hit this on my friend the other day 😭 Also yeah, I realised 😔 my setup doesn’t make it sound too loud but it’s defo just a tad high on my phone for example.
i dont think you necessarily have to start with "level 1" being strikes. there are alot of players i have faced recently who will bust out an invincible reversal the first time they are knocked down. so i usually shimmy on the first knockdown since that protects me against invincible reversals. its important to shut those down early because if your opponent keeps landing them they will keep doing them. some people are crazy enough to invincible reversal every time they are knocked down and that really shuts down your momentum unless you punish it i think the reason people will invincible reversal on the first knockdown situation is because they have seen it before. like when you see a ken dash up after his combo you already know to expect a strike or a throw. all of the kens throughout history have already established the strike throw mixup from that combo. even if one particular ken player hasnt done it to me yet. i know it exists and what to expect
While I agree starting at level 1 won’t always net you the win due to players like that, imo on average it’ll probably net you the best chance of being successful, until you reach a much higher level ofc
i have a problem with the frame advantage showcase in training. Since it sometimes waits until it shows how plus i am, but doesnt show me like how plus im right after a specific move. Hope what im trying to say makes sense. To i struggle eg a lot with oki because i never know what moves i can apply before my enemy can act. I had a lot of oki stuffed by jabs and im uncertain on how to find out the right oki tool for the right knockdown.
Just go into training. Set the dummy to randomly block and practice your confirms. It’ll take a while to build the muscle memory. An advanced tip is if you’re trying to confirm difficult/quick things, is to look at the health bar instead of the enemy
I like this content so much first vid we cut bullshit by forcing respect this one 50%50 and oki but there something lost in between them after respect how u win in neutral to get your Oki and knack down 😢 I need help here
