    Brilliant. Most of "making rose water at home" videos suggest boiling the petals. Totally unnecessary, and I dare say quite wrong - by boiling you kill half components that make rose water so precious.
    Made mine today. 24 hours, my petals are all decolorated, and the water is pale pink. Smells marvelous.
    THANK YOU VERY MUCH for this video.

    • @frugalfamilyhome

      We grow heirloom tea roses because they have a great scent. But any roses with a good scent to them should work.

    • @NevenaBelcheva
      @NevenaBelcheva 4 роки тому +5

      Hi, you really need organic roses :). You don't want any roses bought from the store - they are just made to look beautiful and last longer - thanks to lots and lots of pesticides. Something that you definitely don't want on your skin or even to drink! I would suggest to try Bulgarian Roses - they are qualified as one of richest essential oil-bearing roses! But you can't buy them from the store. Why don't you try a product that has this rose oil. I love rose water but I don't trust just any product on the market. If I don't have the right roses I wouldn't even try to make it myself. Check this video ua-cam.com/video/tVXayVS-CHU/v-deo.html it has so much information about the rose water.

    How many days or weeks can we store this at room temp? Or should we keep it in the refrigerator for longevity?

    • @tatianaabramovskaya8765
      @tatianaabramovskaya8765 11 місяців тому +5

      Make small batches, it's best fresh. Keep in the refrigerator in a glass jar, not in plastic. And trust me, once you tried it, longevity will be the last of your concerns - you'll use it in a blink of an eye :)))))))))
      I put it in a glass jar (kept in the fridge), and pour every morning about 100 ml into a spraying container I got from the store. And I use it in a day. All over my body and hair, after every shower and before bed. Yah, 100 ml, gone in a day.
      Edit. Haven't noticed it's a year old comment; I guess you know it all by now :))

      If your roses don't have a scent to them they probably wouldn't work well for this. But if your roses do have a scent, you can use any color of roses you like. The color of the rose water might be different than the batch I made in the video but it should still smell good. I hope that helps.
