LOCATION: NB I-5 at 8th Street on-ramp
CITY: National City
DETAILS:
The female driver told the CHP that she was driving her Honda Civic when her engine suddenly stopped and she coasted to the right shoulder. Smoke started coming from underneath the car and she got out and moved away.
Flames started and eventually, the car was fully involved in flames. The #4 lane and the on-ramp were blocked for a short time, as firefighters arrived and extinguished the fire. The car was destroyed.
Damn that section of the freeways is Jinxed
Instablaster.
Gonna take a bit of buffing to fix that.
A 2002 Honda Civic. Car lived to be 18 years old and had to die like this in the cursed year of 2020. Good little cars. Such a shame.
2020 has literally been the worst year in history
Damn, hey I have an idea, no one drive on this cursed I-5 freeway 😂
Nice video! RIP that person's car
Traffic not slowing down in an incident area.
Stuart Axe BECAUSE IT’S NOT BLOCKED OFF & MOST DRIVERS ARE TOO STUPID TO DO SO.
And that's exactly why FD block's the lane. Too many idiots just driving along in the slow lane w/ no intent to move over a lane. I see this everyday. People are clueless.
It’s called social distancing
Seems like there are more accidents now that we should all be home. Crazy!
@calee4nyaboy [citation needed]
@calee4nyaboy weather is BS or not would u rather be in the hospital testing this time after an accident or at home enjoying your healthy LIFE?
calee4nyaboy ....... Hey Fuuuul, You are writing your Ignorance. Tell that to all the dead Victims.
cool video
Great job!!! Besides being to close to the tire that may explode due to heat, it was near perfect.
She hit the nitrous a bit too much!! Hector is gonna be mad!!!
LOL, those "smart guys" who decide to just do it and passed on the inside...good luck getting your car NOT to smell like burnt plastic for a week.
Reason why I carry a fire extinguisher all grades in my front passenger seat. RIP Civic
Is that about 10,000 miles of pollution??? ---- Or Miore???
That's scary...
5:30
Nobody:
That was my first place i would have inserted water.
Lol
With all that access wouldn't bolt cutters on the bar for the hood release be a much more efficient way to pop the hood instead of the manual jaws?
Yup!
That’s the way we usually did it.
Call the Servpro guys. They will make it like the fire never happened.
WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO BE SO MEAN??? REALLY IN WHAT, THE WORLD IS GOING THRU AND YOU HAVE THE GUTS TO MAKE FUN OF THIS ACCIDENT!!
Yep.
2002 honda civic ex
The fire man forgot that there’s a hood latch inside the driver side 🤪
to many cursive material burning...
Stay safe out there 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Great job. Guys
I counted more police cars than firecars.... was that a security incident, more than a safety incident?
Cool video. 3 CHP units were there just to talk to each other. No reason to stop traffic on the ramp or maybe squeeze traffic out of that travel lane. It's not like fuel or fluids might decide to go into that right lane.
Two of them were National City and not their jurisdiction.
Maybe someone should have started with that hood by reaching in and pulling the hood release?
Tom Kennedy it was melted shut. Also it’s not safe to put your hands in there no matter how fire resistance your gloves are.
Eerrr so smart guy, that car wasn’t engulfed or anything. But you’re right that piece of plastic release should stay intact...
Lol I love that the cops just do nothing
Bummer
Valiendo madres alguien se quedo sin coche
why didnt they block the highway. very stupid and dangerous.
Battery blowed up
I thought California outlawed car fires years ago!
Funny how they STILL haven't come up with a sure-fire way to quickly open a burning hood - not criticizing, just an observation.
Good observation. Glad you clarified your not a hater lol. Too many of those
@@ffandrewd2986 k 12 good tool to open the hood
Just a hunch, but I'm guessing Arson Investigators are about to be very busy in the next 18 months.
Is there any reason they want to let smoke go all over in the air and let the car be incinerated? Wouldn't it be better to put the fire out as it could lead to a brush fire? Just saying!
Man!😮😮😮😮
I'm surprised somebody did not plow into the fire truck.
The NCFD is located two blocks from that JackNBox as is the NCPD.. that’s way to long.
CVFD was sent first
911 VIDEO NEWS dang, that means CVFD station #1 off 4th and F Street was the closest to respond...
Nice, but here's an idea: don't randomnly cut off your video.
We should a minimum of 10 second clips and a maximum of 15 seconds. unless something big is expected to happen.
Another crappy Honda off the road.
One more little piece of crap Honda bites the dust.
