    You can buy the hydrophobic spray at any home depot, in the Krylon aisle.
    Side note, the plastic in the end, Starlight, has actually been created multiple times. Troy Hurtubise made his own version, a paste that he put on his head and had someone hold a blowtorch to it just to prove, in his own batshit insane way, that it worked.

    Number 11, Your shiny head. Water runs off your shiny head every time and is almost impossible to get water to stay there. The only way is by perfect calculation and just the right air humidity. Scientists have recently found out that this happens because there is a lack of hair folicles obstructing the flow of water so it creates surface runoff hence causing the phenomenon.

    I have a mighty mug and its design is simple yet genius. It has a suction cup on the bottom of it which suctions onto any flat surface it is set on, preventing it from being knocked over. What allows you to pick it up is its release function which unsuctions the suction cup. The release works because you tend to pick up the cup from the top portion of the mug. This pulls the top part of the mug up from the bottom portion, releasing the grip of the cup through an opening in the bottom, allowing air to break the suction.

      That was my first thought on how it worked. I knew it couldn't use a magnet because it wouldn't stick to wood or or non-magnetic surfaces and suction allows for it to be on pretty much any flat enough surface

    when the captions don't match what you're saying it's really hard to follow what topic you're on. It's frustrating to be reading extra words when they're not actually being said. CC should be a word for word transcript, not a place for extra information.

    If the Mighty Mug people really want to impress me they'll make a video of someone swinging a sledgehammer sideways into the mug. If the grip remains attached, even if the mug itself shatters, I will believe them. The videos shown here look like the people are afraid of knocking it over. Granted it certainly holds tighter than a regular mug, the claims they make sound loftier than they show.

    The mighty mug is an easy riddle... There is a split, ca. 7cm from the bottom, going around the cup (you can see it in the videos)... When u lift the mug the split opens the air flow to the bottom hole and you can lift it up... When placing your cup back down you press the air out of the spot and an hypotension builds up.. When u try to knock the mug ober, the split is closed anf the hypotention stays and holds the sucks the cup on the surface... (Btw sry for maybe bad english, i'm not a native speaker)

      He's saying it's a suction cup with a valve that releases suction when it is lifted. If using them to climb walls, I wouldn't recommend strapping them to your feet. If at any moment you relied on your feet for support, your hands would likely start to fall back from the wall and lose suction.

He didn't seek profit as strongly as edison. I wouldn't take a secret like that to the grave, I would have shared it as soon as I found it.

      because it wasn't real. read up on it. the guy made loads of claims about it being super strong and heat resistant and the best insulator ever made but was unable to back up any claims. he "refused" to recreate it and some how the only samples of the indestructible material were..destroyed. it was a pure hoax to become famous.

    • @KuariThunderclaw
      @KuariThunderclaw 6 років тому +2

      Except it wasn't just claims by him. There was actual testing by the ICI, the British Atomic Weapons Establishment, among others... if it was a hoax, any one of these tests could have said "it doesn't work" yet they didn't. I mean, you say to read up on it and I did in response to your claim but everything I've read has said that it wasn't just him testing it. I wouldn't doubt there might be a downside to it he might not have wanted to reveal or something more to the situation then claimed but it certainly wasn't a problem of the claims not being at least partially being backed up by outside sources.

    • @RuthlessDutchman

      I first thought you meant the cipher glass cup and got confused when you started talking about it protecting people from bullets. I mean it could tell you what the bullet is made from and probably cause a bruise if you threw it, but that's where the weaponisable use ends :')

    • @RuthlessDutchman

      The point stands that there is glass made where it is bulletproof from one side but breaks without shattering from the other. Ignoring the practicalities of it, the fact it exists is still pretty cool

    • @purpleice2343
      @purpleice2343 8 років тому

      Glass that is bullet proof from two sides is more valuable because you don't have to be paranoid about which way it was put in, just stay where you are behind it.

      It's made for fooling your friends into thinking it could actually tell what drink it is, it doesn't really tell what drink it is. The procedure is to buy the glass that says the drink that you'll pour in it in the future, then show your friends that the glass can tell what drink you poured. It's just a bunch of colored dots and a hidden text that you can't read until you pour a drink with the correct color on it. For short, it's made for magic tricks.

      +BrandonTheManiac Nobody is against paid advertising. But paid making an entire video based on it is wrong. A master of consumerism is able to target the consumer with specific products and still manage to get a satisfactory response from the public. Certainly not the likes of this guy.

    The mighty mug works by suction cup. Its two separate parts put together. The weight of the cup pushes the air out threw a vent while the cup part has an attachment on the bottom that when picked up opens the air vent to let it lift up.

    For the mug I think there is ooblick in the bottom because that's the only substance with the same reaction - liquid when gently touched, solid when violently hit.

      What? So a banana can think because it is physical? If you are gonna be such an overly-sensitive critique about a satirical title for a video by correcting it for not making sense, at least try to make sense yourself. :L

    Mighty Mug works with a suction cup. There's a hole in the center of the suction cup and when it's placed down the hole seals. If you lift it the lifting opens up the hole allowing air in, and breaking the seal. It really does work, I bought one a few years back

  • @justinrice55
    @justinrice55 8 років тому

    The Mighty Mug uses a chamber that is air-tight when tilted, but not when straight up. When the object is being knocked over, the chamber tilts and causes an air-tight seal, preventing the object from continuing to fall

      +Masen Gambell from a physics (or chemistry) point of view the effect is precisely the same. The outer layer forms a protective heat shield. It's not rocket science.

    • @noxisrex
      @noxisrex 8 років тому +1

      +Masen Gambell baked alaska is icecream surrounded by sponge then covered in italian meringue and torched. traditionally it would be served by pouring brandy over it and setting it alight. but with health n safety, no more.
      also. no cream. the cream would melt, there are no sugars in cream. never mention baked alaska with the implications that there is cream on it or i will suck the eyes outta your head.
      yours sincerely,

    I have took an interest in the mighty mug when it released and displayed at a store. Notice how the outerpartsouter mug is form of 2 main parts, and it wiggles sideways( when you push, shake or whatever) on the top part, and the thing stay still when you pick it up vertically. I suspect the mug work by suction. So what happens when you shake it, the motion triggers a part in the bottom of the mug( notice there is a hole) and pull a thing up and creates a vacuum there, and so the vacuum holds the mug, like suction cups.

    • @bakasahara1213
      @bakasahara1213 8 років тому

      And so the mug only stays on appropriate surfaces( nice flat smooth surface like what a suction cup stays on).
