I've been trying to use that Martha method for over 20 years. I kid you not! I've had numerous tutorials from family, friends, and one co-worker even brought a sheet in to show me. I screwed it up and they could not see where I'd gone wrong. I felt like a brain damaged dolt. Marie Kondo's method is similar to the one I devised for myself. I'm FREEEE!!

@@MarySanchez-qk3hp Adorable: inspiring great affection; delightful; charming.
Are you saying white, black, and/or brown people cannot be adorable and someone only used that word because she's Japanese??? Sounds to me like you are the racist one. ANYONE, regardless of their race or nationality, who is as sweet and charming and polite as Marie Kondo would also be adorable. I think you need to take your own advice and think about stereotypes and racism...and your negative trolling.

Love Mari Kondo, but this is the first fold I’ve seen her do that I’m not a fan of.
After fifty years of folding, I find the method in the link below much easier and smoother. As soon as one gets it to the “rectangle” stage, you can then proceed in the normal Konmari style.
However, I prefer to lay the long fitted rectangle on my pre-folded, rectangular flat sheet, add the pillow cases and then fold up together as a set.
Wow! Was that even a comprehendible sentence?🤣
Here’s a link for video and written instructions:

No offense intended, Mrs. Kondo. Love you for sparking so much joy in all of us!

You're all kidding me, right? OMG, they're not kidding... Unbelievable. It never occurred to you millenials, to tuck the corners inside each other and then fold the rest smoothly? What's wrong with millenials, that's why the bad guys are winning! They don't vote, they eat out all the time, they can't do simple math or spell, they can't even fold bedsheets. The first generation, the news recently said, that is stupider than the previous generations, and the first one to live shorter lives, too. Wake up, stupid!

    • @Ivy99999
      @Ivy99999 3 роки тому

Lol I went through that phase, but sleeping with a flat sheet underneath instead sucked, mostly because of how restless I am when I sleep. I actually started buying double or queen size bedding for my single bed specifically so that I have more fabric to tuck down the side against the wall so it's harder to pull out and so that no matter how restless I get, I'll still have some left on the other side too because it reaches past the floor. 😂😅🙈
I don't mind the extra work of folding it if it means I have one less thing disturbing my sleep and hindering my swiftness in bed making upon waking. It's a battle of lazy vs lazy & uncomfortable lmao. 😅

This is shameful. Today I purchased two fitted sheets, washed/dried them, and wrestled for hours to get one of them folded but it kept looking lumpy. After watching Marie's demonstration this is the first time in my life it is folded perfectly. I keep pulling out the drawer to admire my handiwork. I purchased The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up many months ago and have been in love with Marie's laundry folding method ever since.

I never realized how much STUFF I had in my room. I've removed so much stuff from my room, I've probably gotten rid of twice what I currently have in my room, and it still looks the same ammount of fullness. But I feel so much better and am a lot more conscious about what I have. I've even noticed my clothes are lasting longer, which is ridiculous because the only thing I've changed is that. I'm still super clumsy and catch it on stuff. It's weird haha. I've found that since the change, my depression, anxiety and mood disorders are a lot easier to control, to the point I rarely need medications anymore (that caused other problems anyway like nausea and further feelings of like "what''s so broken about me that I need meds to feel any sort of neutral-let alone positive emotion on a regular basis"). My cousins saw the huge change in me and have asked me to tutor them in it, I helped them learn by having them do their own rooms and they noticed a big difference as well and still keep up with it. Even my mom noticed and asked me to do a few areas of the house. Those areas don't last though because no one else here cares. 🙄🤷‍♀️ It's so subtle and you wouldn't think it would have such a strong effect, but I've tried so many other organizing and cleaning methods, therapy, meditation, etc and nothing ever really worked or stuck. I was not really prepared for the psychological ways it would affect my life. It feels so cultish the amount of enthusiasm I cannot contain for this, I feel like I've been brainwashed but I really dont mind ahaha. 😅😂 Just looking at her books on my shelf brings so much joy and pride at how far I've come, when I need a pick-me-up sometimes I read the manga and I get so inspired and realize that I've actually been letting my room go slightly and notice that a few objects have been away from or never assigned a home for a while, righting that makes my mood so much better haha. When it's all set I actually seem to have a clearer mind and am able to focus and accomplish more, which is even more inspiring that where medication lags in handling my ADD, THIS fills the gaps. It's strange for sure. It's less like a way of organizing and cleaning as much as it is a mindset and lifestyle. ❤

Love Marie Kondo but this is particular tutorial is not very helpful - many fitted sheets simply won’t lay flat like that for you to fold, esp when the rubber band is very tight. There is another tutorial on UA-cam, demonstrated by a guy, that is actually very clear and helpful - it basically guides you to tuck the four corners into one and then create a rectangular shape to fold neatly.

So lemme see if I fully understand this.. The way to fild a fitted sheet is to get a Japanese woman who knows how to fold fitted sheets to come to my house and fold my fitted sheets.. Did I miss anything?

With three cats, I would never fold a sheet on the floor, as it'd be covered in hair. And folding Cal King sheets on a table is useless.

At first I thought maybe because you’d fold your pet up...then I realized you meant because of the fur. (I think)

Hahaha! Yeah, it's because of the fur. I'll edit my introductory clause to be clearer.

I have always done it like that. I guess I was expecting more. But for ppl learning might be hard to read and watch how at the same time. No hate just saying it would be hard.
