Yes! She's very professional, yet charming at what she does.
I'm pretty sure she does translation for a lot of anime panels at Comic Cons, because she acted as the translator between some American interviewers and Hiro Mashima, the creator of a manga called Fairy Tail.
That was the first time I saw her rapid fire translations and the quality hasn't gone down at all :D

@Nicholas Cossins (TKY 3007712) I'd disagree in your saying that "it wasn't that hard to translate," as interpretation is quite difficult (Iida Marie herself discusses that in interviews she's done)! As for what she actually did say in Japanese, 近藤麻理恵 said 「そうですね、皆さん、こう、もちろん片付けに悩んでいらっしゃるっていうこともそうだと思うんですけれども、同時にその心の中のモヤモヤ、こういったことも同時に悩んでいらっしゃることも多いと思うんですよ。」 -- The operative word we're discussing here being モヤモヤ. I would say that even a native speaker would be tempted to interpret 「心の中のモヤモヤ」 as an "uneasiness," "pent-up feelings," "inner distress," "haziness," etc., etc., as モヤモヤ is often translated. However, as we know, in the context of Stephen's question, and how often in the Netflix series it is made clear how the cleaning of the home also helps one "tidy" issues inside of them, I would say that, on the fly, on national television, it was an expertly made, highly nuanced interpretation, to say "clutter in our hearts."

Steve Harvey and Ellen need to take note of how to work with guests and interpreters together. You talked to and addressed only the guest and not the interpreter, and the interpreter did the same. You spoke naturally. @Osw719 There's actually two things going on here:
      1) The interpreter kind of already knows what Marie Kondo will say. They've been working together a while now, and these interviews can be quite repetitive.
      2) Speed does not equate "literal" translation. Sure, she's quick, but it doesn't mean she's saying exactly what Marie is saying. As an interpreter, she has learned to adapt and mold the person's speech. There's really no other way of doing this job.
So for her to translate Marie Kondo is much easier than translating Stephen! :)

We sometimes do it when saying please or sorry too.
Western people often do it when saying Konnichiwa but it is not accurate.
Marie did it in this show only because we Japanese think that it's disrespectful to point out other people's mistakes.
We'd rather choose to do the gesture as well to avoid embarrassing the person.

Yeah, that interpreter is phenomenal. I'm a translator (written only) and that's hard enough. Interpreting on the fly like that is like juggling: you have to listen and translate in your head at the same time and then speak, and you only get one shot. She was taking notes obviously, but that's likely just jotting down key words. But listen to how effortlessly she spoke in English after doing all of that.
The upshot is that very good interpreters like her make a TON of money.
