Great video! I’m a recent apple user and just bought my first watch and the question of protection was hanging over my head (since I’m an avid phone case user, my iPhone 15 pro max has all the gear I could find 😂) but I had no idea what to do with the watch. I like the way it looks, I have the starlight and I find it so slick so the idea to buy a case for moments of extreme use fits me perfectly! Thank you!!
Hey. I can see pros and cons for both. Obviously a case offers way more protection. But a screen protector won’t hide too much of the watch. My gut says a case is the better option though. I think if you’re going to spend money putting something on your watch, you’d be as well off to protect the whole thing. Hope this helps. And thanks for watching!
Great video with good points. In my opinion, I personally think that a case would be a good investment especially if you are an active person or a person prone to clumsiness. From my experience, I brought a case straight from the get go for my Apple Watch SE after my series 3 since the series 3 had many scratches by the time I upgraded which I didn’t want on the new watch since I plan to keep it for a long time. While it may look a little bit more bigger, it still provides a decent amount of protection especially on the screen which is what we interact with the most.
That’s exactly it! For me, as much as I don’t want to use a case, I can be pretty clumsy sometimes, so it’ll save the watch from a lot of damage. Thanks for watching. I’m glad you liked my video
YES!!! DEFINITELY GET THE CASE!! Take it from a man living with remorse!! I had scratches on my screen that I was sad about, BUT my IWatch series six took a whack against a door frame, must have ruptured the battery? Now it is DEAD! RIP 😢 The Apple watch is definitely NOT bulletproof! Now I am forced to buy the ULTRA. I intend to wrap it in the best protective products I can find! Who cares if it looks funky when I wear it?? Maybe as well have a better chance of not getting mugged if people can’t really tell what it is you’re wearing when you’re out and about! You are Welcome!
Sorry to hear your series 6 died. I’ve just upgraded to the ultra 2 and I love it! It looks SO good on my wrist. But I’m super paranoid about smashing it at the moment
I agree very great video I use a screen cover on my s8 but it protects your investment plus gives you that peace of mind without replacement of your watch Plus even the Apple insurance just for a back up in case. But I never remove my case leave it on always
I always have a case on mine bc I know how clumsy I am. I ordered my aw 9, and the same day I ordered my case so I’d have it when it came in. Also it keeps the watch looking nice on trade in. My experience and opinion.
Yeah, that makes total sense to me. I’ve never traded in my old Apple Watches. I probably should though, mind you my S6 is now horribly scratched. So there’s not much point.
@@ronanhutchinson Even if you don't get much monetary value, the watch can still be recycled and the materials can get a new life. Who knows, maybe parts of it would end up in your next product:)
The case you have is a pain if you go swimming as water gores between the case and the screen… I used to have an Watch Series 5 and I had a RhinoShield case for it. I have a very active life and the watch is still in perfect condition. My wife is using it, still with the case. There are lips around the screen… I have now an Watch Ultra since Oct 2022 and I don’t have any case for it… It is still in perfect condition.
Yeah, I’ve never used Rhinoshield. But from what I can tell, it looks like they’re just bumper cases that don’t fully cover the screen. I’d say they’re good if you’re doing pretty rugged sports. And I think it would have helped in the situation like what happened to me. But I think I still would have had some damage 😔
@@lidy0433 No protection for the screen, but so far, it has bbeen needed for me. As mentioned, my Watch series 5 (used by my wife now) is still in pristine condition. Bear in mind, the protection makes the Watch look bigger (for a 45mm, it close to the size of the Watch Ultra) I liked this size, hence the Watch Ultra pruchase afterwards. Yes exactly. I tried two. The first was complete 💩. I had to push really hard for it to register anything and the crown was hard to rotate. And the second is almost pretty much perfect but sometimes the touchscreen is a little unresponsive.
I’m not sure. It could be an issue with the case blocking the input to the screen. I can’t say I’ve run into that problem when I’m using a case on my watch.

Hey great video, but a nice and easy way to hide the scratches is to put on a liquid/uv screen protector. It a screen protector where you put liquid between the screen protector and the screen. The liquid fills the scratches up and when you put the screen protector on you harden the liquid with a included uv light👍

What a great video. Thank you. I have a couple of Apple Watch screen protectors that are very similar to what you’ve got and I totally get what you’re talking about because when I have my screen protector on it does make it look a bit bulky and not quite as nice with it off, but I tend to look at it this way if I didn’t have it on and my Apple Watch got scratched or damaged it would cost me a lot of money to get a new watch and more than the actual screen protectors to fix it. That’s the way I look at it.
Hi Kate! Thanks for watching. I’m really glad you enjoyed my video. I 100% agree with what you’re saying. In my case, I wish I’d had the case sooner because my watch is badly scratched now. I’ll definitely make sure to grab one for my next watch. 😅😅
Great tutorial very informative, I have a couple of cases as I always seem to catch my watch on the door frames, what I find is some of of the cases are more responsive than others , I would definitely recommend one if you are clumsy like me lol plus you can change straps and face covers to have a different look 👍🏻
Yeah I live customising my watch with different straps and stuff. Adding cases just takes it a step further. Yeah, I’m pretty reckless when it comes to bashing my watch off doorframes and stuff too! 😅😅
