I’m interested in the Olson Twins sharing but I just don’t know that they would. There is so much Hollywood talent and secrets out there.

I think it’s sad like these kids had to work adult hours that would be even harder on adults like nonstop , everyday, no breaks for yrs, no wonder some of them went to drugs, they wanted to shut it all off( DO NOT DO THIS, I am not saying drugs are the way to go, they are dangerous and not worth the high or low) I think back in the “golden” days of television they actually gave actors of all ages uppers and downers as needed to keep them going for as long as they could.

These kids on Disney have accounts like any other kid and post their everyday life .. everybody’s watching . So Disney has kinda had to make some changes. Also it's probably worse if your parents are profiting off you and abusing you and exploiting you in your own home cause you have nowhere to run to and they are your caregivers. Take the Ruby Franke case for example. Being exploited by anyone, home or on set -it's all bad. But at least if you're on set there is more of a separation between your private/home life and showbiz life.

Family/work/home are 3 things that ideally should not be mixed together! It's just so sad to place kids in this position and normalising them to something that isn't normal before they even have time to form an identity and decide if that's actually something they want.
I’m glad Demi is helping others tell their stories. I hope this can teach the newer generations of what it’s like to be a child star and show them they should wait until they are 18+ to audition for things and start working in the industry. Children shouldn’t have to give up their childhood to follow a dream that would just turn into a job
This and Quiet On Set makes it hard to look back on our childhood fondly. I will always love the celebrities I watched growing up and will support them during these hard times of them opening up.

I think the rise of social media has helped, people can take pictures whenever, wherever and you may not even know it, not to mention these kids now since they have these accounts could easily air their grievances out for the whole world to see. With social media, privacy has become much less of a thing, especially for young child stars who are really successful.
There is a level of authenticity and vulnerability in Demi's voice that is different in how she approaches the issues that she has faced. To now expand it to other child stars in the industry feels very right. Surrounded by those who have similar traumas and bringing light to what the greed of the industry feeds on. I love that she has Alison Stoner on here too, considering Alison has spoken out a lot about the industry on her own podcast too. She has a sound grip on her experience, how it has impacted her, understanding the psychological affects fame has on children and considering the opportunity but not undermining the trauma and mental abuse. Definitely support all of these individuals, their experience, and wishing them all the best. We are here to receive your story!

It's important to keep this conversation going to continue to find ways to protect these children from being exploited. Child stars are being placed in positions where they are more exposed to drugs, alcohol and predatory behaviours. The wealth and fame doesn't really balance out. The more open we are about what is happening, the more chance these kids have of being safe and feeling able to come forward when they're in bad situations.
Yes! Particularly the huge new wave of children who are being exploited on social media by their "family vlogger" parents. These children are not even protected by child actor laws.

I will never forget loving camp rock more than HSM, I'll never forget crying over demi after I read she had overdosed, I jus wanted her to be okay, n during that time most celebrities were od and were not making it. I'm glad she has sobered up and is ready to share her story with us.

It’s so good to see her healthy again! She’s so talented as a vocalist and songwriter and it seems like she’s learned from her mistakes. While she spiraled heavily and went through addiction, mental health crisis, and a really bad phase, she came back from it and is spreading light and positivity now instead of darkness and negativity. She’s talking about important things that need to be talked about. I wish people would give her a break and forgive her for her mistakes and controversies and give her another chance. She’s very talented and raw and she seems to be doing better. For all the people saying “she’s just a drug addict” and “she’s always the victim, get off your high horse because it’s not like you’re perfect. And it’s absolutely disgusting of the people saying she should have died during her overdose and that she should have committed suicide when her bullies made a suicide petition for her in middle school. For the people saying that, I pray for your soul and that you find your humanity and stop being so hateful.

It’s so good to see her healthy again! She’s so talented as a vocalist and songwriter and it seems like she’s learned from her mistakes. While she spiraled heavily and went through addiction, mental health crisis, and a really bad phase, she came back from it and is spreading light and positivity now instead of darkness and negativity. She’s talking about important things that need to be talked about. I wish people would give her a break and forgive her for her mistakes and controversies and give her another chance. She’s very talented and raw and she seems to be doing better. For all the people saying “she’s just a drug addict” and “she’s always the victim, get off your high horse because it’s not like you’re perfect. And it’s absolutely disgusting of the people saying she should have died during her overdose and that she should have committed suicide when her bullies made a suicide petition for her in middle school. For the people saying that, I pray for your soul and that you find your humanity and stop being so hateful.
Yet the poor guy she promised anything to come get her high is in prison.
I want to see this! I love documentaries about child actors, and this looks great.
