The Doors were a sixties psychedelic blues-rock band from Los Angeles that took their name from the title of the 1954 book "The Doors of Perception" by Aldous Huxley (author of "Brave New World") which he wrote about his experiences under the influence of mescaline taken as part of a psychiatric research experiment into psychedelic drugs in 1953. Lead singer Jim Morrison died in Paris in 1971 at the age of 27. "Riders on the Storm" was the last song he recorded for the band. It's also from their LA Woman album. "Light My Fire" was The Doors breakthrough hit in 1967. It went to number-one in the charts. Their debut album ranks high among the greatest debut albums of all time. We used to play that record all the time when I was in college in the late eighties -- some twenty years later! "Break On Through (To the Other Side)", "Soul Kitchen", "Twentieth Century Fox", "Back Door Man" were some of the songs on it, along with their twelve minute epic, "The End". When you're ready for more from The Doors also check out "Riders on the Storm", "People Are Strange", "Love Her Madly", "Strange Days", "Five to One", and "I Can't See Your Face in My Mind" along with so many other greats.
Mr. Mojo Risen is an anagram of 'Jim Morrison'. The song is about Los Angeles. "City of Night', 'Drive thru your suburbs', 'Hills are filled with fire', 'Driving down your freeways', etc...
Fun reaction to this song. Yes, 4 members in the band. Good you got main theme of song about the city of LA. Yes, the band was based in Venice, part of Los Angeles. Way back in the 1960's. Lead singer Jim Morrison died when he was 27. Ending the band, but the music isn't over. Keep on rocking. 😊🎉❤
The Doors came from their own place. They spoke from a deep, wild place. They were channeling something powerful. I think a lot of people nowadays have a hard time understanding this. Different world now.
I have always heard "Dig a little diner, about an hour ago, took a look around see which way the wind blows, With a little lady in a Hollywood Bungalow." I don't care how many people say otherwise, the above are the words he sang. btw Mrs Pen Pal, you have a great voice yourself. I think you are a pro, and if you aren't, you should do a demo tape and send it out to record companies. You are that good!
You got it right. The title track from The Doors’ final studio album. I noticed the register of Jim’s voice was at its lowest on that one. There at the end, his singing reached its deepest point.
Val Kilmer portrayed Jim Morrison in the Doors" movie. It was not totally a casting choice! Jim's mom was a huge fan of Val after seeing some other roles he did and decided that he was just like her son! I think it was a stroke of genious!
Great reaction !Please do ROADHOUSE BLUES NEXT studio version by the Doors the meaning of MOJO RISING: Mr. Mojo Risin'" is an anagram for "Jim Morrison." The subject of the song is not L.A. women - the subject is the City of Los Angeles itself aka L.A. ( woman is used as a metaphor to describe the city of L.A. )
What a lot of people don’t know is after he was singing the anagram of his name Mr. mojo rising it was a buildup of sex finishing in an orgasm. Try listening to it that way. That’s how he meant it. Also or just another lost angel? Lost Angel for Los Angeles.
FWIW, the song is about a man that shows up in LA and finds a bunch of women trying desperately to become famous that they will sleep with almost anyone and also become prostitutes. He has just showed up to take advantage of the situation.
i understand your excitement , but you have only pricked but an ounce of what is classic rock. this is not by far the best nor the greatest. I commend your taste though.
Let's change the mood from glad to sadness cause everyone is so clueless about all the crime and betrayal goin in in LA. LA has the cruelest cops in the world. The justice system is worse
If you skipped any minute of this masterpiece you are on your own 😂. Like, comment, subscribe. Let’s connect: linktr.ee/mrspenpal

Hi Larry thanks happy I did such a knockout💥💥
What amazes me is that the talent in a group somehow comes together to form perfection, to me it is a kind of miracle, the Doors are just one example.
right? these 4 coming together after a random meeting on a beach between Morrison and Manzerick..i mean how awesome is that?

The doors’ formula. Electrify 1 poet, 1 flamenco/Spanish guitarist, a jazz drummer, and jazz keyboardist = a rock/blues band that croons.

He was living in France when he died. Buried in a famous cemetery there.

Absolutely one of my favorite groups all time. Nobody had a sound like theirs. The music that they created has stood the test of time!

The band did live in L.A. and got their start there. Most went to UCLA, where Jim did the Film school. They knew the city very well.
Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction dear.
Thanks for watching Ken and dropping a kind more ✨
Main character energy so true and on point.
Pure charisma!
You got it right. The title track from The Doors’ final studio album. I noticed the register of Jim’s voice was at its lowest on that one. There at the end, his singing reached its deepest point.
Actually, Jim sang, at the beginning of the song, ‘Well, I DID get into town about an hour ago.’
The one band that can’t be duplicated or compared to any other band
The Doors kick...
And you have a great voice,
Peace on earth.

By the time The Doors were recording this album, Morrison was looking at hard time for the "Miami incident." It was weighing him down.

nice anechoic chamber you got there maam.
Thank you 😇
By the time they did this song the drinking and smoking had given Jim's voice a older rough sound.
don't feel bad I couldn't understand what he was saying either and I'm American!
What I admire most about Morrison was his ability to grow a full beard. I'm bearded but my beard bothers me, so I cut it back.
Are you a lucky little lady in the City of Light, PenPal, or just another lost angel in the City of Night?
I wish I could have partied with Jim Morrison. Of course I would have only kept up with him for about a half an hour.
***FUN FACT*** MR. MOJO RISIN' is an anagram for the singer's name... JIM MORRISON.
Alright you're in the door now listen to the end

FWIW, the song is about a man that shows up in LA and finds a bunch of women trying desperately to become famous that they will sleep with almost anyone and also become prostitutes.
He has just showed up to take advantage of the situation.
Lizard King, can do anything.
Mojo is like sexual energy and vibes.
Think the lyrics are not correct. I guess he starts with "Well, i tingled into town about an hour ago ...."
i understand your excitement , but you have only pricked but an ounce of what is classic rock. this is not by far the best nor the greatest. I commend your taste though.
