Hands down one of the best tasting fruits on earth. I'm so happy my parents fed me this as a kid because it made me have a soft spot for it. Plenty of people complain about its smell but I think it smells sweet. Probably one of the pros of having good parents feed this to be as a kid. Its very expensive for a good reason. Personally it's best served cold. You come home from a long day of work or school and have this for desert. Thanks for showing how to pry it open

Everyone tried to convince me it was delicious, but even pinching your nose when you open your mouth you won't be able to help but some of the odor going into your mouth and into your upper nostrils that way, and forcing a gag reflex unless you're comfortable with the acts witnessed on 2-girls 1-cup and have acclimatized your body.
It tastes good when its half ripe half raw. Not smelly. It just smells bad when its overripened. I studied about this plant. Durian is a sort of hurb. It can reduce the inflammation

I eat Durian, and I am telling you folks out there, that Durian she is cutting up is not ripe, not at all. Those chunks should be more like pudding and not cuttable as you see her doing. When they're ripe you have handle those chunks very carefully, because they'll be soft and almost squishy.

Tasty Durian. Really, I like it. It has several states, from "hard" to creamy. When "hard" it tastes like cabbage and when it' getting creamy it turns into some pudding . Durian smells intensivly like cooked cabbage. Even cabbage stinks then, and Durian gets to an extense.

Been sitting in a freezer for like 2 months, is it still good?
I work at a grocery store too. We sell these. In the US its hard to get fresh ones. So most comes frozen. What im saying is get that shit out of the freezer and dig into it. That shit has cost me mutiple paychecks. Let it thaw for at least 2to 3hours and you can cut into it without much struggke

It IS delicious. For those who find the smell a bit objectionable, maybe it's because they are getting it at less than the optimum ripeness. I love it fresh, but as the fruit is so large, I end up freezing most of it for later use in smoothies. Yummy! Unfortunately they are hard to find in the Midwest (USA) and even then, the price is abt $55 USD for a 10 kg fruit, which is the average size in the shops here I've found.
That's one huge durian. O_O The ones I get are tiny compared to that huge melon. What I normally do is cut it in half, and scoop all the "meaty" fruit into a Tupperware or container and eat it throughout the week. I love it with a little honey on the side as dipping sauce. ^_^ Very good for you.
Came accross one of these from my nearest Chinese supermarket in the UK. The fleshy bit came pre-prepped frozen and wrapped in cling film packed in an icecream tub. Didn't take too long as to why when it defrosted.. If you have ever stuck your head in a bag of rotting onions; smells like (sulfur) If you can get over the gag factor of the smell it's taste is like pure essence of sugar and you kind of forget about the smell after the second mouthful. Wouldn't do it again because of the smell but it's an experience.

Came accross one of these from my nearest Chinese supermarket in the UK. The fleshy bit came pre-prepped frozen and wrapped in cling film packed in an icecream tub.
Didn't take too long as to why when it defrosted.. If you have ever stuck your head in a bag of rotting onions; smells like (sulfur)
If you can get over the gag factor of the smell it's taste is like pure essence of sugar and you kind of forget about the smell after the second mouthful.
Wouldn't do it again because of the smell but it's an experience.
