Hi Jimmy Khoo, thanks for the question & tip :) I will definitely use a rag to open my durians next time. On the comparison between Malaysian and Thai durians, I love Malaysian durians more because I find that Malaysian durians are more fragrant, creamier, smoother and tastier. Thai people, in general, prefer firmer, fleshy durians - so you can say that I am an exception! 😄
What variety are those cute little durians? Another tip I got from a local program is that the stem must be greenish and moist when scraped to check if it's fresh. Like durians too but can't eat them at the moment and it's durian season. Am seeing a TCM specialist who said they are off limits ☹😫.
Hi Pretty Catmint, my husband bought it and said that they are D24 and "kampung" durians, but I don't really know - I just cut only 😂. Thanks for the tip, I didn't know about the green stem. Yes, durian is a very "heaty" fruit, we can't eat too much of it as well :)
How do you find Msia durian compare to Thai durian? I always use a cleaver and a piece of rag. And I always eat the last piece too.
