It’s important to go to welding school but it is more important to learn how to weld. It doesn’t matter what you do just practice and keep practicing. Nobody can hold your hand. It’s up to you. American Welding Society! Welding schools!

I'm not a welding inspector, a safety man, or your mom. Do your own research. I'm not responsible for anything you do. Have an awesome, awesome day. Stay safe. welding tools homemade
I love Jodi over at welding tips and tricks I've learned so much for him, he's an amazing teacher I've been watching his videos for 12+ years! He's awesome!
Couldn't agree more!
Austin Ross puts out excellent content, and says learn something new every day. 👍
I love a cup of coffee and a conversation. He's great! Just got a gold lense. Co worker said 4c is great but man gold is so crisp
I will have to check it out.
Lol
I’m a big fan of Austin, so humble and self aware. It’s refreshing.
@neilheriot2361 he was a union welder for a few years now he does a lot of structural welding.
I've got too many professions, & will never be a pipe welder.....but I enjoy watching your channel because I nearly always learn something. Thanks!
Thanks 👍 I appreciate that
Both of my favorite welding channels
thats why I watch several welders Austin and Jody are really good also Thanks
Here is another shop trick - use a red brick (yes a brick) and drag your rod across it. Takes off the coating/slag and it is ready to weld as the arc strikes readily (don't need to tap it).
Can do it in the filed but it is up to you.
Try it - you'll like it!
You can also do it to a bundle and have them ready to go in a bucket.
Yup - I do it when I stick (doesn't work that well with my mig, however).
Great tip, Danny
Thanks for the knowledge drop.👍
Perfect timing once again buddy
Perfect!
Glad to see you back on the welding channel
Good video. THNX. ! As a retired welder myself, I had my way of doing things. Was there a better way ? Probably. From the beginning, I tried to pick up tricks and techniques from everybody. All of the various welding related web sites, on line today, are great. I still learn a lot. I'm teaching my friend to weld, in his garage. I add all the new on line tips and tricks to our sessions. It took me years to get good. He's picking it up way faster than I did. I pretty much had to teach myself. Back then, you only got about 10 mins. instruction before being put onto job.
I went to Tulsa welding school. I was on 6g and was leaving under cut on top, and instructor came in one and saw the problem. one side was fine , but was not rotating on the other side, hang at the top rotate to fill in under cut. Simple, but took the eye of my instructor to set me straight!!
Great tips! Thanks again for a great video! I think the best way of learning, sometimes, is from seeing the mistakes or bad habits!
So true!
This has been a lot of fun watching and learning interesting things from this channel.
Thank you 🙏
Carlos
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you as you keep it real.
I definitely would love to see more takes like this. Good luck
Great stuff Chris!!! Thanks for sharing your expertise and experience. I’d love to see more day in the life stuff kinda like your Apartment welding golf cart video.
On a side tangent, what shirts are you wearing?
Noticed 318 area code. Watching you from Bossier-City
Hello Taylor. I have a question. What is IP that I hear you refer to during your weld inspection?
I follow Austin Ross and Wally but your a BAD DUDE!
I hope that’s a good bad lol
@TaylorWelding It's the good Bad
Another good video Chris. I enjoy the reviews of other welders. Helps me get a better idea of things I need to look at or try.
Thanks 👍
Another good one keep them coming
Thanks, will do!
Ballsy move...you may be starting a whole new sub-genre. Very nice.
dude you make awesome stuff, you're a great teacher.
I appreciate that!
Funny enough I follow all of you .
Awesome vídeo can we get more videos on how u cap
Yes I can
The Weld Professer. Wally'Welding World he also channel on here. Personal friend of mine.
great welders
Hey men what boots u recommend
I don’t really. I had plantar fasciitis for about three years from standing on locations with big rock on top of Soil cement.
Now all I wear is Sperrys lol
@@TaylorWeldingAs a retired welder, I too only wear Sperry canoe shoes. No socks, summer or winter. Snow or no snow... No socks. Socks make my feet sweat. Moist socks = cold feet.
Always a pleasure to watch your videos Mr. Taylor.
Pipe content oooo how I love it but my wife on the other hand
lol
Hay man I would love to meet you in person, when you flip the rod don't that remove the burn metal off the end of the rod to make it easier to start to burn the next time?? Jack
Not on a 6010 or 8010. But yes on 7018 for sure
What about those overseas videos where the guys are using welding electrodes that they bend like a pecker at the end? Why do they do that? Always wondered if there was a legit reason? And I mean, every rod is treated that way.
🤙🏾🤙🏾
💯🔥
Did you confess? I’d sure like to know a little more. I had situation where my younger brother took a pretty good butt whip in for a mistake I made. I felt sad at the time but my dad made up for it in later structure development.
yes I did
Oof. Thats rough austin. Stacking wood nickles.....
Buy Silver and Platinum
I actually have these 3 on my do not recommend list. ;-)
Why?
