Hahaha hahaha Just want say Chris, you have made may day about this happy little video. The Bob touch is a nice twist. This video put you over the top in my book.
I to if I may add have learned alot from your tips and tricks about welding. Thank your so much for sharing with us. I look forward to other constructive videos on your show. again thank.
Hello Mr. Taylor. Always enjoy your videos, usually don’t comment, but I thought now would be a happy time. As a mobile equipment mechanic/welder I found myself needing a small buzz box for repairs. Not all repairs need 7018 burning bubble gum, and I couldn’t justify spending $$k on a suitcase welder. So I went to my local hardware store and picked up a Forney 140amp multi process welder. At first I was VERY VERY disappointed in my purchase and was reluctantly in search of a replacement, until my inner MacGyver kicked in. Case study was; the actual welding machine would out power the mig torch and get the damn thing so hot it would melt. Soo I went to my local welding supply and picked up a 250amp/25ft tweco mig torch. Removed the euro style connector from the face of the welder and modified it to accept an old style Miller mig connector. Now, I have a highly capable cheap flux core welder. I burn Lincoln .035 flux core in plates well above 3/16” for as long as I can stand the heat. Multi pass welds are key, and Keep a jar of anti spatter jell close by and lightly dip the torch every time I stop to reposition or grind. (I’ll post a video and showcase my hillbilly modified welder) The short of the long.. with a little patience, ingenuity, and practice, there’s no reason a cheapo hobby welder can’t get the job done.
Hi there. Sounds like you are getting the job done. Flux core E71T-11 wire is ok for up to 3 pass welds; the E71T-GS wires are for single pass welding only. Make sure you are using the correct wire if you are multi-pass welding.
Love my arc captain stick welder. They liked a video of a jaguar I made so much they gave me the TIG welder attachment. Arc captain has great customer service.
Hi Chris! Love your videos and I thought I would give you a tip to improve your welding with your Arc Captain Mig. Turn the inductance up to 7-8 and your welds will be much smoother and much less splatter. It really is a happy little welding machine. Enjoy! Don😊
Randomness: I quit carrying 3/4 because 19mm is close enough! Ash is caustic, the opposite of acidic (makes lye when water seeps through it-Foxfire method). I need patch up my smoker. Like the dueling tree. Used to shoot a wheelgun in competition-that thing would be a blast. I pretty much only shoot black powder now, so any steel plate is good enough. HEY--did you know that cut off gas cylinder (hanging) makes a great long-range reactive target? They say they ring like crazy. My PW TIG325 showed up yesterday (day after Christmas). I think I'll run some 6010 with it today. Made some pretty little TIG welds last night. The fan is completely obnoxious, earplugs required.
I so enjoyed this video. Your sense of humor mixed with real-world experience made this video both insightful and entertaining. Thank-you, and I hope you have an awesome, awesome day.
i really like your content, as a guy that's a total newbie to welding and fabrication, you offer really great info in a way that's easy to understand and great to watch and learn... I'm teaching myself in my free time. thank you! i subscribed.
Love the video, lots of information and entertaining that's what makes your videos the best in my opinion. Hope you and yours have a VERY Merry Christmas! Thank you again for what you do!
Your twin brother, Bob always told me he wanted you to be a painter like him, and you always wanted him to be a welder like you. Imagine where you would be if you both learned Each other's talent.... Merry christmas to you and your family I love your segments 🌲
I personally, would like to see some more videos about how to start a welding company. I have a Hobart 140 and most of the tools i need and i can run a good bead etc. I already have a building, i would like to have some kind of fab shop setup and just fill orders but if i have to go to a jobsite im ok with that too. But, idk what makes good money in welding, or what to weld or fabricate or mass produce etc. Thanks.
Funny you did this video because I compare the prices yesterday as my son is just starting his welding experience. I got him the 130 from Amazon last night, now I wonder if I should have gotten him the 200 instead?
Chris unless I have missed you offering them for sale do you have plans for sale? E-books and "maker plans " for sale can be a nice income producing side gig.
I didn’t offer anything for sale. I’m not opposed to the idea. Just need to figure out if what I will do them for is in the price range of people will pay. I’ve been thinking about a course/maker plans or sell a weld together yourself to kit. That is a great idea. Thank you.
Funny that I’m not the only welder that obviousley also watch Bob Ross a lot 😂 And please take that WIG off before you start the MIG, or you will have a happy little combustion in your shop 😄💥 #wigwelding
You might get crap about not using AR-500/550 and they are correct, if you are getting dimples from rounds you are setting yourself up for a round to bounce back, ( I have been hit and drew blood from a simple 22lr it happens , there are recommendations for shooting steel that should be followed, ie. minium 10/11 yards, each target must cant forward about 10° forward from the top, this allows the round to impact flatten and hit the ground, if you're plate becomes pocked up badly the round can't slide down but shoot off in a random direction. good steel targets are expensive and a consumable and still must be replaced when damaged, shooting safety depends on a flat surfaces as must as possible, an exception in using mild steel (1/4" works best) is 22LR. I have built about two dozen 22 only targets from a Texas star, dueling trees, critical shot swinging paddles (btw love your base design, you actually have something there) standard B-27 type targets in different scales ect. all show no pock damage, (my mishap I believe came from a carriage bolt head grade 2, nobody said shooting steel is not without risk) Cool thing is you can buy just the AR paddles for your tree provided they fit (might need fitting) there is a ton of steel target manufacturers with lots of information about the subject. Abrasion resistant plate is a bugger to work with, I believe most good steel targets are cold sand cut so as to not take the temper out of the edges of the targets but they still chip. all my center fire targets are AR 500 3/8 or 550 in 1/2" for the long range big caliber stuff. It's tempting to use mild steel because it is cheaper and easy to work with, but shootn steel is hazardous (wrap around eye pro a must) little chunks of copper jacket in your clothing is normal when shooting steel, but that golden bullet is out there, simple fact of life, protect everyone's peepers on the range. The wig was killing me had to keep looking away, my wife would make me watch Bob with her, (true love is watching Bob Ross with your wife) yall have a Merry Christmas, 🎄
What is a 9mm 45 pistol? Every time I have tried to drill out a Mig tip I hit a hard spot about the middle and couldn’t go any further. Usually when trying to switch up to 1/16 wire from .045 and no tips on hand. Merry Christmas and keep the vids coming
Fantastic video sir. Have you had any experience with the arc caption little stick welder or the yes weld stick. I have been looking at them. Just looking for something cheap that works decent to do small welding jobs around a farm or when we offroad.
Great video, 'Mr Ross' and Merry Christmas to you and your's! Brings back memories of, "umber brown" and, "let's do something really crazy" ... Good times. And for the record, this world could use more Bob Ross's! Thinking aloud: I wonder how quickly would hair like that last welding overhead in tight quarters? Heh!
thats not supposed to be a slip nozzle style nozzle... hence why your contact tip hangs out too far... and ceramic sprays burn off quick... just as gel does
I debated whether I should even comment on this one......😂🤣 Trust me, I'm not related. And, I'm bald- Thanks for the welding videos and Merry Christmas!
Hey! Hope you remember me from a few videos. We’re hosting the Blue Collar Tour 24’ in Charleston SC. Don’t know how close that is to you but the students definatley would be mad if I didn’t try to ask if you can come! You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take so I can at least tell them I asked. They love your videos (as do I).
Merry Xmas! That wig is hilarious! A mix between Bob Ross and a chia pet 🤣🤣 Love that tree! Only improvement would be is making the adjustment mechanism diff by adding a pin and drilling some holes for adjustments instead of the nut/bolt. Taking orders? 🤣
Nice looking projects! It would have been interesting to see the tree in action, even if you just threw hard balls at the plates. Better stay away from open flames with that hair, as well as the really "happy" sort of boys. 😬
Sorry but I never cared for that guy. I much preferred Bill Alexander, the German POW turned American citizen and also a mentor to the BR fellow. Besides, BR never struck an arc. Of course everybody else in the world loves BR-and that's fine.
Merry Christmas and Bob Ross called and wants his hair back
lol merry Christmas
Hahaha hahaha
Just want say Chris, you have made may day about this happy little video.

I create interactive steel sculptures that use fire and light. I built a steel Jaguar for Mexican's healing cacao ceremony's for burningman 2023.
Happy Welding y’all Blessings into 2024 👍
Have a Happy little Merry Chrismas.

Thanks for the tips!
I will try that today
been binge watching your videos and watching them in the booth at school. you have helped make my welds better and i’m more confident in them
Nice 👍 thank you for letting me know. I appreciate it.
Epic!!!!!
Creative as all get out.
Merry Christmas to you Chris and your purrty go-getter bride.
Good info and tremendous patience with that wig!
Can you do a video with Jose interviewing him how he came about on meeting you how he got into the welding lifestyle
Maybe. I’ll try.
Great video “Bob” Taylor. Watching it just made me happy all over. I don’t believe you’ll get any complaints from giving those gifts.
Merry Christmas Eve

humour is king
merry christmas buddy 👍
Same to you! MERRY CHRISTMAS
In my Lincoln guns I always run tips at least 5 thou larger than my wire so I won’t have the issues where I have to drill.
I so enjoyed this video. Your sense of humor mixed with real-world experience made this video both insightful and entertaining. Thank-you, and I hope you have an awesome, awesome day.
Your videos have Great tips on body stance and comfort.

LOL never had that much hair
The last video I watched on cutting 5/8” circles reminded me that you could be the Bob Ross of Welding Instructors! Then I saw this!😲🙌🔥
i really like your content, as a guy that's a total newbie to welding and fabrication, you offer really great info in a way that's easy to understand and great to watch and learn... I'm teaching myself in my free time. thank you! i subscribed.

Hey Chris Taylor you remind me of Billy Bob Thornton in more ways than one!!!! Facial features voice and marrerizms ..
I know. We grew up in the same neck of the woods in Arkansas. About an hr apart apparently.
I personally, would like to see some more videos about how to start a welding company. They should definitely get a good welding machine. They should get the best like a SA 200
Funny you did this video because I compare the prices yesterday as my son is just starting his welding experience. I got him the 130 from Amazon last night, now I wonder if I should have gotten him the 200 instead?

Not really. If someone wants one I would build it for them but the price would be pretty high
omg... did you know bob ross once called me the "bob ross" of the welding world?
I bet he did.
He's so glad we're here... 😳. Do u have your hair done all the time. Or r u just happy to see us😳
Love it man! Have you put the arc captian plasma cutter thru enough stuff to give an opinion yet? I saw the unboxing and first use. Merry CHRISTmas.
Yes it’s been good so far
You also have real world information
Thank you
Bobb Ross ? Is alive
Nice looking projects! It would have been interesting to see the tree in action, even if you just threw hard balls at the plates. Better stay away from open flames with that hair, as well as the really "happy" sort of boys. 😬
Next time! For sure. I’ve been trying to figure out how to weld with it on. It will be sketchy.
@TaylorWelding 🤣 Your thumbnail will have to read "Torched - Turf."
I clicked faster than my wifi
Are you going to weld for us with that new hair??
Maybe if can fit it under welding hood LOL
Bob Ross lives......
Hey what happened to you man man? let us know 👍🏻👌
Where in the hell is Jose?
😂
Bro Bob called again and said great job and tips but take the crap of your head anyway.
Watching a welder trying to be nice just ain’t it 😂
LOL
his WELDING has no application IF you run a TOMBSTONE, he requires you to get something BETTER..?
Sorry but I never cared for that guy. I much preferred Bill Alexander, the German POW turned American citizen and also a mentor to the BR fellow.
Besides, BR never struck an arc. Of course everybody else in the world loves BR-and that's fine.
