    I am really interested in film photography but I know I won't be able to afford all the film and development costs, and your videos only make me more interested in saying screw it and just going for it. Great video mate, very relaxing and perfect for a warm Sunday afternoon. Keep working hard brother, you are doing well.

      @EduardodeOliveira 2 роки тому +10

      hi, don't let the development costs stop you. it is actually quite affordable to self develop and you will end up learning a new skill. you need some materials and the chemicals but the costs are quite reasonable and for example for c-41 colour development you can reuse the chemicals. I encourage you to reconsider 😊

    • @samskordi6079
      @samskordi6079 2 роки тому +4

      I second the other comment, but another way that I would recommend is to start out on black and white. It is considerably more inexpensive including the film itself (you can bulk roll you're own film as well) and the chemicals.

    • @EduardodeOliveira
      @EduardodeOliveira 2 роки тому +2

      @@samskordi6079 I agree with Sam, although in I'm much more experienced in colour film and biased towards it because my bw development attempts so far have been hit and miss...
      I'll keep trying and practicing to achieve good results

      Glad to see some motivating comments below :)
      I totally get you though, prices recently have become so bad😔
      But as the other comments mentioned, B&W is cheaper (APX 400 is the cheapest film I've found).
      Also shooting very sparingly is helpful. And if you think you want to do this for a longer period of time you should consider getting yourself a scanning setup, because at least for me, scanning is the most expensive part, whereas the development is not so expensive, so by scanning myself I'm saving a lot of money in the long run. I tell my lab to only develop the film and not scan it. This way I pay 5€ instead of 25€+
      I really hope you find a way to shoot some film!🙏🏼

    Very good video, as too I acquired two lovely cameras from the 1950's - A 1954 Praktina, and a 1958 Pentacon both 35mm SLR and both have Zeiss Jena Lenses, and these are my pride babies as I too been searching for Zeiss Jena lenses even though I am a Nikon Shooter, but to have a bit of SLR History that a camera can last for a long time. Also now I know in what they met of covering the lenses with lens caps on my babies, the Cloth Shutter can do damage when exposed to sun, and when I got the Pentacon that I noticed pin holes on the shutter. So I remember when I use to work at a camera store of a product called Kodak Liquid Opaque and carefully place it on the shutter plane front and back, and then place light lubricant oil on the rollers, and sure enough it work..

    The photo of the white flowers in the field immediately reminded me of white spooky ghosts I would see in a childbook or movie as a kid. I loved the sudden ‘darkness’ in this photo which contrasted with the rest of the photo’s which were more glowing because of the sunlight. 👻😊🌞🌅

    Thank you for yet another inspiring calm video. I agree that the image with the post box and the silhouette grass are very good. I also think the mirrored grass image was nice. I like this video and agree mostly with your self critique with the ones that didnt turn out well for you. Those that didnt turn out well I find that you had something there. If you just got the main subject more to the centre. For example the milk canister shot with the boot. Another is the house with the roses, if the roses were more to the centre but with same composition with regard to the mountain. If you could imagine that, do you agree? Bottom line, those that dont work, try getting main subject more to the centre. Bush shot at 14.10, for me the edge of bush to the right is the main, if it would be more to centre I would like it as well.

    hi Teo, i have stumbled upon your channel and i find one of your videos recommend a beginner like me to get the GX80. My Question is, is it good for photography? because other channels doesnt recommend micro four thirds camera for photography and others do and it confuse me much! and one more question, can i achieve good bokeh with micro four thirds? i never owned a camera yet and im looking for something that is both good in film making and photography.

    Interesting/unusual camera, presented, as usual, brilliantly. Since you. find that some images are too dark. Consider increasing the exposure 1,5x to compensate for backlit subjects. Also consider a small meter to measures the scene, rather than the app, which is a spot meter. There are a variety of small meters [One is made in W Germany Lime One], which can be attached to/removed from the hot/cold shoe [not on this camera]. Lime One is made in Germany. As for the excellent lens: Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 50/2,8 [VEB Carl Zeiss Jena, in East Germany]. Manual for this camera: www.butkus.org/chinon/exa/exa_24x35/exa.pdf
