I find my addiction to my smartphone really apparent after having uninstalled many apps that induce scrolling aimlessly and limiting my instagram to just a few channels, I actually find interesting. I catch myself grabbing my phone and my thumbs aimlessly open some apps I have on there, looking to be active and scroll around, just to keep my mind busy. My brain making this observation, I close said app just for my thumbs to open it again - I hate this feeling so much. But I got better, I smend less time on my phone. This and starting analog photography makes me realise my suddoundings more actively and try to frame every possible composition in my mind. This is so much fun, even without carrying a camera with me. I make a mental note about a possible motive and come back to that place eventually.
I recently came across a few minimalist setup videos for smarthphones, which make your smartphone less addictive. Its worth taking a look at, if you want to spend less time on your phone. I also have a setting that makes my screen switch to greyscale in the evening, which makes watching videos at night less appealing. I realised that stepping away from my phone makes me appreciate things like film photography more (and many more “Offline” hobbies)
I noticed my lack of noticing when I was running late for uni and was waiting for a tram that was coincidentally enough also late. I was really aggravated, so I was looking at my phone in order to distract myself. In the background I heard something dropping from a height and so I looked up to see what was making this sound and it was actually these crows that would fly up a couple meters high with walnut shells in their mouths, and then they would drop them on the tram tracks and on the floor in order to break them and get food :) When I realised what they were up to, I was in awe and was just so happy to be there and honestly couldn't care less if I was late because I would've sat there and watched these crows for hours more, for sure. So now because of crows, I definitely pay way more attention, so I'm quite thankful to them hahah 🐦⬛ :)
I recently watched the Japanese movie "Perfect days". The movie is beautiful throughout and really embodies noticing the little things. Highly recommended!
Every time I watch a video like this, I feel like going out walking and exploring the streets with my camera, but I live in Brazil. The probability of having it stolen during a trip is enormous. =(
The way this video is put together flows so nicely. The way the words fit together seems like a poem, and the videography and photography is also amazing.
i know i'm fairly new to photography (roughy 2 years) but you're beyond doubt my favorite photographer, I've gained so much inspiration from watching your videos and taking in your insight.
Agreed. Remember when many people would just sit on a bench to take in the world around them? They weren’t tired, or trying to kill time, and certainly no screens to distract them
Honestly this is the content I needed, have been really neglecting my photography as I spend almost all my free time trying to stimulate my brain. But I never really take time to well live. Thanks for the reminder to get out there and get creating ❤
I don't know exactly but there is some kind of nostalgic feeling about it. The low pace, the music that sometimes is on the background and then comes to feel the "room" completely. And of course the visuals and the editing. I feel peace and very relaxed here. Thank you!
Everyday we get a new teo upload is a good day, I've also been trying to pay more attention to my surroundings! Recently got a point and shoot that I plan to keep in my car and use whenever I see something interesting. Whether that's on my drive to work or just out and about, gives me an excuse to just take photos of whatever I see that interests me!
Personally I want to not miss out on the beauty of the audiobooks I’m listening too AND the world around me. Which is why I listen to books while I photo the world I live in.
Didn’t know this was a trend, but I’ve been trying to better appreciate the smaller things in life too. Noticing is the core part of street photography in particular
I am so happy I have found your channel. I stumbled across it while researching film cameras and have been so intrigued by your style and the way you present yourself in the videos. Your voice is so calming and you beautifully articulate feelings. It’s incredible. Keep up the good work. I am feeling so very motivated with my photography
beautiful video, I'm really enjoying your photography! I've been contemplating just getting rid of my camera more than once because phones tend to have quite good cameras too nowadays. but I keep finding that I see the world differently looking through a camera, a lot more intentional and slowed down. with my phone I only ever take snapshots of things that really strike me, with my camera I walk around trying to see the beauty in everything. I absolutely recommend that to everyone who wants to be more attentive and intentional with their lives!
Amazing video, Teo! I always look forward to your new upload =) This video taught me not only to be intentional in noticing the beauty around me but also to embrace the imperfections in it
Starting shooting analoge made me look around more and notice small things. Digital never made me do that. It was just pray and spray. Preferably with zoom lens.
15:48 I like the way you always remove the object from the center of your photos, always placing it a little to the side, causing a certain "discomfort" because it is not symmetrical. 🫶 The first video of yours that I saw was "Film Photography in the Rain with Fujicolor c200", I think almost 3 years ago. And since then I had already noticed that haha
Love your work- just getting into film photography now and your channel's been a huge help. Out of interest, would you ever go into how you grade specifically your video footage? Looks gorgeous & very filmic, would love to see your workflow 😌
Hello I started doing film photography I picked some b&w film because it is way cheaper then color at local they only sell fomapan 200 b&w and kodak gold 400. I went out to shoot. When the negatives came I scanned them with this old kodak scanner that my dad lent me. The results were unsatisfying from 2 rolls of 36 I got exactly 15 from each. And from the 30 photos I like 5 and my family thinks it is waste of money because "really good" is only one. I've got a new roll like a month ago. I have shot only two pictures because I fear that any other will not be good enough. Now I'm ill, my mood is at its lowest, but maaan you made my day a lot better, I just don't know but something about your videos makes me happy every time. Keep the great work, thank you.
I'm just some random stranger on the internet and I've only been shooting on film for about a year now, but honestly part of the fun of film photography for me is that I know that a decent chunk of the photos I take are gonna be kinda bad. There's a real joy to be had when you get those negatives back and the photo you thought was going to be nothing special turns out to be something incredible. I also wouldn't worry about what your family says about the quality of your results. You're just starting out so of course things aren't going to be as good as you want them to be. Everyone sucks when they start doing something new. You can't get better if you don't allow yourself to fail. If it brings you joy, keep doing it.
I tried this daily photography challenge as well, but I got so many pictures of my room, window and from my local area that I stopped doing it. maybe I need to look for different things, cause I already appreciate just the sun leaks in my room.
Hi, I'm new in this beautiful and nostalgic world of analog photography. Lately i watch a few videos of you. Nice work. I liked the mood of those photos. What's the name of the pelicule that you have use?
Hey Theo , great video and I definitely agree on the tik tok and insta stuff it’s becoming so dull predictable and non. Almost meaningless .. Analogue is surely slowly but surely going to take over eventually as it’s so real and pure .. I could go on .. cheers dude keep up the good work .. Tom.
Wonderful video Teo, so inspiring...😊 I love your style! I know your skills made these photos look so good but I just wanted to make sure and ask you did you use Lumix GX80 to capture these shots? 😁 And one more thing, I really enjoy your english, it's so nice to hear. Your pronunciation, stressing, vocabulary and voice is what makes it so special...

Love you videos :) May I ask what backup storage do you use? NAS? Other drives?
Love your videos and always watch them. (And every time, with the hope that one day you stop adding the awful cheesy music with vocals and opt for an instrumental track instead)
I entirely relate I feel like I might be too awkward to take photos with people in them, but also I still want to take pictures of cool and beautiful people. The dichotomy of man I guess 😅

never in my life I wanted to go to Austria as much as the last months i’ve been a subscriber in your channel
Nice! What exactly makes it that way? :)
your calm videos really take away the pressure from photography. thanks :)
the photos from your fav morning were GORGEOUS

Gaahhh yes it's so good, I watched a week or so after release! Cool to hear you too enjoyed it hehe! :D
