I really like the way you narrate your photos, I love the stories behind, they are parts of the photography. I am originally from China but now live in England, so your videos about Japan kind of make me feel homesick. Also, it may seem weird but your elaborate videos are a great resource for me to learn English! You are extremely good at expressing feelings through words. I am shooting films too and I hope one day I can make a video about my work. Thank you for this channel!
I just started to shoot film for the first time in my life, your videos truly inspire me and makes want to shoot more and more
loved hearing the memories and stories behind the photos 🤍
These are amazing!!! Love the canal photos
Love this video and you sharing your process. Great photos too! Love the tones! New sub!
I also haven't been back to Japan since 2016 and didn't have any interest in cameras or filmmaking at the time. But watching this series of videos of you in Japan definitely makes me miss it and want to shoot and film as I've gained a big passion for filmmaking and photography. Really great work 💯
Chuckled at the construction workers being overstaffed. It really is a small but essential part of the pacing and feel of life in Japan. Love this series!
I love your observation and commentary over each one. The intention and the breakdown make me feel like I'm growing in the art of photography vicariously through you. I've had a sciatica flare up so I may binge a few more videos to get my fix heh. Keep up the lovely work
Great photos, man! Great photos! My favourite locations to walk... when I'm in Tokyo!
Beautiful captures. Loving the stories and colours. I just got my Konica Auto S2 and learning to use it properly before I take it with me on travel, watched your 35mm beginner video and was very helpful. Thank you and looking forward to seeing more of your photos.
9:45 This might be your best roll yet that you have shown. This shot is simply amazing. I like it both in vertical and horizontal. What gets lost in the vertical shot is the full extent of how the slightly lighter green tree leans in from the left with the dark one hugging the buildings on the right.
This is well done and I like how you describe WHY you took each shot rather just a video showing lots of random photos with music. Subscribed.
great pics & video ; keep going!
I am missing Japan seeing your videos. I love Tokyo for its quiet and lovely backlanes.
Absolutel amazing
Beautiful photos as always! Your channel is one of a kind. Such high quality content and very pleasing to watch!
Aww thank you!🥹🙏🏼
Your Japanese video such a vibe 😍
Your best photos yet. Very inspiring, thank you Teo
Ohh wow, thank you!🥹🙏🏼
oh my god that opening shot literally brought tears to my eyes, how stunninggggggggggg
Ohhh what!? That so sweet, thank you!🥹🙏🏼
Your videos are fanmtastic, and really inspiring, but I keep waiting for the part where you start talking about Souls lore
actually beautiful! hope to be as good as you one day ;)
I’m so glad I found your channel 📷🩵
You made me restart shooting on film, thank you from Switzerland;)
Aww amazing, greetings neighbour! (I‘m back in Austria currently haha)
Loved this one Teo! Cool that you and Tats got to hang out and that photo of the people cleaning the canal is EPIC!
Aww thanks Reimann! If you ever come to Europe, or I come to the US we should definitely hang out too!🤩 Thank you!🙏🏼
@@teocrawford absolutely! That would be so fun!
These are so pretty!!
Aww thank you!🥹🙏🏼
Every time I see your videos about Japan, it just makes me appreciate the craft and detail Japanese do more and more. Everything is neat and clean. The asphalt and the air conditioning on the back of building. They even clean the canals?! Name any country that does that too!
Ahhh yes, that’s what I love about the country and the people. I really noticed how it makes me more conscious of my own behaviour too, so that I also do my part in making the place a better one for everyone☺️
every time i look for this dude hes posted a new video within the past 24 hours
What a nice Video. Can´t wait to go back to Tokyo again. Last time i also was not into filmmaking but next time i can´t wait to film all the great spots^^ Also rocking the a7iii. Mutch love too your videos. Greetings from germany :)
Ahhh I wish you get to go again soon!😍
Liebe Grüße von nebenan! (Ich bin wieder zurück in Österreich :D)
Was very fun to catch up in Tokyo. Hoping we get to shoot again if we manage to line up a trip to Japan in the future.
Ohh yess, it‘d be so fun to be out and about again - I don’t know yet when, but definitely not too long!🥹
The canal shot is killer
All these videos making me want to visit Japan ASAP
Ohh you should haha!😍✨
First time I went to Skytree it was jam packed. I walked just a few streets away looking for an onsen and it was so quiet you could hear the sounds of traffic signals on the pedestrian crossings. In the middle of this huge ugly/beautiful metropolis there always seems to be tranquility if you look for it. As usual your video makes me homesick for a place that’s never been my home. How does Tokyo do that? Particularly liked that vertical shot of the canal with the cleaners btw. Just picked up my X100V (finally!). Looking forward to taking it and the Pentax MX to Japan, probably early next year. Thanks again Teo.
The person in the skyscraper and the patient driver are so intriguing and beautifully simple. There are too many potential shots like these, where you just can't "zoom with your feet". Don't you ever feel like you're wasting a lot of opportunities when shooting with a prime? I know the limitation forces us to put more thought into the composition, but I'm rarely willing to give up my 8x zoom...
@11:40 in the photo on the left, I really like the person with the brown jacket in the middle of the Photo. He feels trapped by the three people around him, and it made me fantasize that they are circulating him and he just wants to get out and crack open that bag of chips it looks like his holding. Great video and lovely photos.
Ohh wow that’s such an interesting perspective - I haven’t thought of it in that way🤔 Thanks for sharing!☺️
These are fanatics photos Teo! I was wondering, when using film do you plan ahead with the ISO (200, 400, 800 etc) when shooting at a certain time a day with the natured light levels outside, or do you just choose your film just by interest and use a light metering app to ensure shutter and aperture are accurate for the lighting combined with the ISO you happen to be shooting on?
On 7:42 it's not Shibuya Sky, it's Shibuya Hikarie and a person in the window - it's 11 floor (if I remember right), where Theatre Orb entrance is located and old iconic place to photograph Shibuya Crossing is located. Very nice place, spend there a two weeks observing Tokyo for hours.
Aww thanks Tats!🙏🏼🥹
This video and your photos are honestly so amazing, I want to get started on film photography and don’t know where to start and seeing your pictures really makes me want to study about this art asap. Can I ask what camera do you use? Is it your favourite?
Aww amazing, I‘m so happy you connect with the videos!🥹🙏🏼
In this video I was shooting with the Olympus Mjuii170vf, however it‘s a point and shoot which is not for everyone. When it comes to SLRs I personally love the Pentax K1000🤔
The driver's hands were "folded in his lap."
i would love to get that building one at 7:52 i think that would make a great wallpaper on my Pixel
Mellies shot with hat is mirroring your grandma’s shot from another video near Fuji
I think I prefer the horizontal shot (shown at 9:28 ) of the workers in the canal to the vertical photograph. I like the shape of the tree on the left and the interesting greenery, which look almost unreal to me in the middle of the city. In general it's funny to me how often I gravitate to the photographs you seem to more or less dismiss. Makes for an interesting watch - although sometimes I am infuriated when you call a photograph that I really enjoy "boring" and move on quickly. xD
That is true, the greenery really adds to the photo, but the top and bottom of the vertical shot also help the composition, and the situation in the canal is arguably more interesting with the hose and reflections. I guess a wider (square) version of the vertical photo would have been perfect.
@@dominik.zemanek.97 I didn't notice the more interesting scene in the vertical photo with the workers in the canal until you mentioned it. Comparing the scenes I very much prefer the one in the vertical photo. The horizontal photo enjoys a much larger presentation (almost double in size I think) so it's hard for me to make a fair comparison.
Please give a room tour 😉
Not sure if it's referred as such everywhere, but it's a "push broom." Also, love your videos :)
Ahhhh ok, thank you! Aww thanks☺️🙏🏼
amazing photos and video! btw how long will u stay in Japan?
Thank you!🥹🙏🏼
I was in Japan until the end of May, I’m back in Austria now :)
What camera is that? so sick
Wow. I've been learning analogue photography for a while now, but I always fail to get interesting compositions. Your videos really show me everything about the process. Thank you for the inspiration
Aww that’s amazing, thank you so much for the kind comment!🥹🙏🏼
its realy nice 😍 what is your name of your colour edit program for your videos?
Thank you!☺️🙏🏼
I edit in Premiere Pro, so for Colour Grading I use the internal Lumetri Colour, however I also use the plugin Dehancer for some special effects :)
We’re all of the photos shot on the mju II zoom?
Hallo Teo.

Hiya people! Ive been inherited a pentax k1000, and Im going on holiday with family in summer to hot places and Im not sure at all what films to get, I know that kodak gold 200 is good but Ill also be taking photos of family at night time what sort of film would you recomend? Anyone can answer this!!
Ohh cool!😍
If you want some more iso you could go with Ultramax 400, or if you’re feeling fancy and a little rich then even Portra 400.
If you like your colours to pop strongly then try Ektar 100😏
But if you want something that really has some more sensitivity for easier shooting at night, then you could try Lomography 800 (or Portra 800, but Lomo is cheaper). Also the greens on Lomo 800 are brutal, meaning veeery saturated🤌🏼😮💨
Otherwise if you can get your hands on Fuji Superia X-Tra 400 that’s also a nice allrounder, but as far as I know Fuji is hard to find these days.
Ohh and if you like red and want your reds to pop then consider checking out Luminar 100 by Popho🙌🏼
I hope this helps in any way☺️🙏🏼
@@teocrawford thanks alot man! Imma try get my hands on the Fuji superior xtra but if not I'll go with one of the other ones u told me! Also I realized its not a pentax it's actually a Minolta srt101! And also I would highly recommend going to Montenegro or Bosnia, it's such a peaceful and beautiful place in the summer or winter, I'm going in the summer so that's why I'm gonna be starting film photography!
@@teocrawford the luminar 100 is very nice but sold out :(
@@ferguspeacock1216 Ahh cool I’ve been wanting to go to that area!
@@ferguspeacock1216 ohh still!? That’s a pity :/ They should be stocked up again soon though🙌🏼
omg you are friends with tatsuki small world
Ahhh you know Tatsuki?? It‘s a classic internet thing though - I found his UA-cam channel and then connected via IG until we finally met as we were both in Japan☺️
