- There have been plenty of rumors in recent months about an hd modern style 2d sonic game, and I thought why not discuss which game I would want this new 2d sonic game to take after, that being: Rush, Advance, or a pure classic sonic game. Hope you Enjoy!
Is it just me or have you improved a lot since I last watched? I don't know. Anyways, as a huge 2D Sonic fan, I've always been wanting another 2D title since it tends to sell better and be a lot more consistent. Whether it's Modern or Classic, a new 2D Sonic game would definitely have my interest, and it would be an A.S.A.P. purchase from me. While I do like the old Classic locations, we're going to need some new ones. If they are that desperate to bring back levels, then please just make sure there's more newer stages than older ones. Relying on the past can only take us so far, so it's time to spice it up and introduce some new variety into 2D Sonic and the series as a whole.
I do wonder how a new Sonic game by M2 would be.
M2 has made newer retro style games before, and have ported classic Mega Drive Sonic games in the past. They are passionate in what they do.

If we get a new 2D classic sonic I’d love if it was just full of reworked scrapped zones unlike sonic mania reusing classic zones
If they do wanna reuse some old zones I’d be interesting to see some from the sonic game gear games
Artstyle: Either 4E2 or Generations/Forces
Gameplay: Uh, maybe a mix between Advance and Mania? Please don't be a metroidvania, those are difficult to navigate.
Which Sonic: Modern. The IDW/Frontiers Era is going great and I only want more of it.
Also, I really want Rush 3(because Blaze is my favorite character in the series), and Blaze being the only character with the Boost would make her stand out more.
Oh! What if it brought in a Foreground and Background element like in the 3DS Kirby games!?
If i were to make a new 2D sonic game, I'd probably base the stage design off of the advance games or mania, with the graphics and dynamic camera of classic sonic in gens, and then have Blaze as a playable character because 1. I like Blaze and 2. It would make the game a mix of both advance and rush gameplay. It sounds pretty hard to make a stage that's fit for someone like Knuckles or Amy as well as Blaze but it could probably be pulled off and would be really neat to see.
I think it’s about time we got another Sonic Blast styled 2D game. Long overdue if you ask me.
I think that sega should make a more creative 2d sonic game. Maybe with a hand drawn art style like the mania and origins animations? That along with some more fluid controls would make a perfect new sonic game imo

Since I think Taxman and Stealth are on alright terms with Sega right now we have a chance with part 2 but I'm not sure on the relationship within them all.
I always thought that sonic mania plus was like a sequel to sonic mania and having a sequel to an already amazing game could ruin the whole experience as a whole

I gotta say great video but honestly if they did a advance style game I wouldn’t be to excited I’ve played the first two games getting all the chaos emeralds and finishing all the stories and it was hell, while I thought advance 1 was pretty good advance 2 was SO boring and not fun and from what I’ve played of advance 3 I don’t think I’ll like it. But a new Rush styled game would be cool since I like to boost a lot.
Ok but if Sonic 5 is so good why don't why have Sonic 6.
Great video. For the next 2D Sonic game I would love to see a follow up to the Sonic Rush style since it's been over 10 years. Also it seems that the 3D games are trying to distance away from the boost moving forward. I can imagine the next 2D game having the retro engine but with updated sprites like the advance games seeing that would be amazing and bring back Blaze 🔥
