Sen. John Kennedy is one of the brightest and funniest people in politics.
I love his humor
He's a disgrace who doesn't care about anyone except himself. He never works with Democrats on any bipartisan legislature, unlike his colleague Senator Cassidy. He honestly is one of the least productive members of congress
@@williamg8269 but he’s got a good ole boy drawl and brews a mean moonshine.
Senator Kennedy King Solomon. Wish he was the president.
Are you joking???? You sure do not have your facts straight!!!!!!
"Thank you Senator for that question." from all these nominees is getting real old.
This is everyone both sides. The constant thanking each other is a way for them to eat up time.
Exactly, imagine doing that in all conversations. "Thank you for the question sugar britches, that is my seventh beer." - Me
thank you uhh uhh wife for that uhh uhh that question, ummmm i would uh uh like steak and uh uh mash potato for my uh uhh dinnuh uh
They have to be instructed what to say. None of them are smart enough to answer questions on their own.
@@imkuntox thank buh you buh
This is the first nominee I've seen that wasn't an activist. It speaks volumes that Kennedy showed him respect and had nothing damning to question him about.
Except the amount of appeals he said he drafted and lead is A) small and B) inconsistent between his testimony here and with Blackburn.
@@rebchizelbeak5392 senator Kennedy was sitting there for that exchange He's not stupid
He is an activist. He's also very inexperienced for a life-long appointment to one of the highest appellate courts of the nation. He needs more experience especially at a lower judicial level. Like Judge Bernice Donald, the first African American judge on this court (the Sixth Circuit Ct of Appeals). Judge Donald had 16 years of experience as a federal district judge and before that many years of state level judicial experience. She was a great nominee. She is what is well qualified. It is disturbing for me, as a decades long criminal attorney, to see attorneys with such limited experience but with carefully chosen bar related volunteer work on committees to put themselves forward for such serious and far-reaching positions. I suspect his limited volunteer work with Project Innocence was a catalyst for his nomination. Let him get more experience and come back at a later time.
@Rock Stoddard I realize you are responding to a different clip. I have done that too. There should be a rule or code to decide where the comment or information resides.
@@groundcontrol436385 nah, he's black. They get an express VIP pass to the top if they show any basic competence. You know...oppressed and all.
I think this nominee is a respectable man. But is he qualified enough? Absolutely not.
Where is your law degree from?
Good for him. Unafraid to say he loves his country.
He too proves that America is not systemically racist. If it were - and he admits it - he wouldn't be sitting there being questioned for a very important job.
Sadly on many of our college campuses today kids are being taught otherwise and others who do express that love are ridiculed or worse. And G-d help them if they express support for Israel on campus.
He sounds like a Patriot of the Republic than all the other Xiden neo-liberal communist nominees.
@@janetprice85 I'm okay with you typing GOD. I created a saying you're welcome to use: "Everyday is a new adventure and I thank the good LORD for giving me the opportunity to be here to experience it." Now, every once in a while I change that up, depending on the circumstance and say: "Every day is a new adventure and the only reason why I've shown up is to see what the hell is going to happen next." Thankfully, I repeat the former more often than the latter. In response to your note to me; I agree with you 100%. I am a Christian, not in a religious sense but on a personal level with Jesus and God and I agree with you regarding the feelings towards Israeli's and Israel. I am saddened by what our schools have become - on all levels - Grade school through college - regardless of what those on the left say that it isn't taught in grade schools. The pandemic has exposed the insidiousness of what teachers are doing to our children today.

Well they were all easy answers that would put in him a great light--- why wouldn't he answer them?
I know right
and flat out! not circuitously!
At least he gave straight forward answers. I can respect that.
So far I'm liking him. He is making a real effort to actually answer the questions!
despite his nomination by despicable people, he seems forthright.
Yes, but he didn’t answer the question.
Yes. He must only be a leftist because that’s what’s expected of us being black. He should consider switching sides. He’s too humble and doesn’t seem arrogant as most in the left are.
He seems decent, maybe. John knows exactly what’s going on, and he certainly exposes it the best.

I love that senator Kennedy keeps asking this same question to everyone. It gets to the heart of their ideology toward this country and its important!
Today, lots of "experience" is soo far buried underneath special interests, insincerity and corruption that nobility, honesty and integrity are of far greater mportance than having X amount of experience, that of which is often completely negated due to the former.

I've gotten many great laughs from Senator Kennedy. He has this good-old boy way of insulting people (that deserve it) nicely.

First nominee that actually respected Mr. kennedy & actually answered straight forward questions & in return Mr. Kennedy respected him. Gentlemen seams creditable so far.
He seems nice enough but the very fact the Progressives/Communists want him so badly it makes you wonder if he would be an activist judge. There is no way they could nominate someone that is not going to be doing their bidding for them.
You didn't watch the other senator's grilling of him. Not qualified at all.

It’s a fake all a con and the citizens still after all this time buy into the conning o he seems like a nice young man while he has his friend stab you in your back a
Senator Kennedy is Master at his craft!
The "thank you for your question" thing isn't the problem. It's when they lack sincerity when they say or have ZERO experience, like Kristen Clarke, is when its bad.
You can separate the wolves from the sheep by the first question Mr. Kennedy asked. This man seemed to have an understanding and appreciation of the basic principles of Americanism.
He doesn't....he's a damn racist....he DNT ask whites tht.....he's an American too
Senator Kennedy really needs to do some open mic nights at any comedy club in the country because he's literally the funniest politician in Washington DC and he's also in a group of the best representatives for United States citizens.
Imagine an oppressed, systemic race victim, saying this is such a great country and wouldn't have earned this opportunity, anywhere else.
Dr. King believed that and gave his life for the hope our better natures would prevail. "Character not color counts." No one is " less than" or intrinsically " evil" based on skin color, or where their ancestors came from. If you believe lies about your fellow clean out your own heart first. Biden owes the American people an apology for that incredibly racist rant he gave in Atlanta this week. Shameful! And how dare he invoke Dr. King's name.
Yes, the NBA, NFL, MLB, colleges and TV commercials are full of oppressed systematic race victims.
With the exception of a couple West Euro countries(Holland, canada etc) blacks are viewed with MUCH more contemp/lower standing in pretty much every region around the world
If I hear "thank you for that question, Senator" one more time, I will be losing everything I ate. It is so idiotic. Do the nominees really think they are gaining brownie points by continually saying that? Good grief!
No kidding. It's fucking annoying to say the least.
@@Lori5564 its showing respect. they couldve nominated someone else
It buys them more time to think how to answer the question.
It helps them waist the senator’s five minute time limit. That way they don’t expose their Marxist ideas.

Sounds like a good person but way, way over his for the job he's been nominated for.
A deer in the headlights. But he does seem like a good person.

Good answer to an easy question, but his lack of experience is damning and the White House knows it. It's why they stalled getting him speaking with the Senators.
Wish some one cares about Americans. Sad .
@@narendermakhijani9512 are you saying that expecting our most important, lifetime-appointment judges to have extensive experience is the same thing as not caring for Americans?
May God and the Constitution be with Andre B. Mathis and guide him in his decisions.
Most of America is good, but then you have those who think they are 'oppressed' as well 🤷♂😂
I’ve listened to a lot of these hearings, and this gentleman is the first Biden nominee who was able to respond to a question with a straightforward answer.
IMHO, despite his other qualifications, Mr. Mathis--who appears earnest--cannot meet the standard of performance (and which should be set raised) for the position he's been nominated. At that level, I expect an individual to be more articulate, not to use "um" between every word. It's annoying (to the point of distracting) to hear and it undermines the message. A judge should be a better communicator. He's just not ready for the appointment.
People aren’t allowed to get nervous? An interview that’s broadcasted to every home in America - “um” to you is the real measure of someone’s readiness?
Please stop thanking him for the question!
The nominee to the 6th Circuit court of Appeals is a trial lawyer who has never served as a Judge.
A lifetime appointment to a judicial novice is a bit of a stretch, possibly why the WH prevented the interviews to those mentioned. Who is really behind these nominees?
Blm who do you think the people who burned down the city’s in America for seven months come on man all of the nominees have blm antifa written all over them why do you think they aren’t burning the city’s down because they are getting deeper and deeper in the government and by the way you don’t have to be black to be part of blm just saying also he has no experience not qualified

I sure wouldn't bring my kid lol.
He seems like a nice man but I think he's inexperienced for the position.
He's never been a judge, if that's what you're driving at.
His response to what he thinks about America is all I need to hear. I most likely do not agree with his politics but that answer is the only framework we need to feel that he can put his biases behind him and do the job. Happy to hear that from a Biden nominee.
You are so easily conned I say what I know you want to hear, think he going to say it’s a bad country wake up people these majority of people they want here are evil unqualified people just like sortymoyor put in because of the color of her skin surely not because of her experience Obama put her up Kagan also both are not qualified to be in those positions and it is because they are activists judges and Obama and al sharpton are running the show again

It's basic respect and not a partisan thing in any way. You have to look at it from the point that these folks are in an incredibly important job interview and want to come off as appreciative and courteous. It's not for you, it's for them.
They're trying to use up the allotted time so they don't have to answer as many questions

I have watched many of the Congressional hearings this past year and I can say that almost every individual nominated for a position (regardless of position) has come across as either incompetent, unimpressive, ignorant, a liar, unethical, someone with radical views, or a combination of these traits. It is clear that our federal government is filled with a lot of people that we should be purging from the ranks. We need a major reform of all our federal agencies which focuses on middle management and executive leadership.
