Why can’t they ever just answer the question directly? People need to be called out on this kind of crap more.
If they answered the questions, they would have to admit they aren’t capable of holding these jobs. Totally uninformed and unqualified for these positions.
The whole point is too waste as much of his time as poss, w/o answering anything. IE: There's absolutely no need for them too say: "Thank you senator, I appreciate being here today & I really appreciate the opertunity to answer your question before this committee", for every question. Its not protocol or etiquette. But it eats 10 secs of his time each time.

He asked the question: "how did you get [the prediction on inflation] so wrong?"
She said, "the pandemic was unprecedented," meaning, "this event, which we've never seen before, had consequences that interfered with our predictions."
Senator: "So you're saying the pandemic caused inflation?!"
That is clearly not what she was saying at all - she said the human issues caused by the pandemic (supply chain issues, supply/demand imbalance, etc.) caused her predictions to be incorrect - and the senator went off on a tangent about people "coughing inflation."

@@roberttyrrell2250 Other countries have different infrastructure and have had different reactions, on a societal level, to COVID, and we all have different economies. It is very possible that our inflation increases while others' doesn't.
There are other countries facing a crazy level of inflation rn. I can't remember what it is, but I have a feeling looking it up for you would be wasting my time cause you're not going to give a shit either way.

Um, wrong. Factories closed for months due to the pandemic. Ford, GM, Chrysler, etc. When they reopened they found that their suppliers were behind, too. Gasoline is up, but that's only part of the inflation story, and COVID is part of the reason gas prices are higher. When the pandemic broke out demand for fuel dropped quickly. Then, almost as abruptly, demand came back in the fall of 2020 and guess what, production had been reduced. And producers really had no incentive to increase production - though some did - because high prices make them more money per barrel. And here we are. Trump is a loser, like you and that's why you like him. He committed sedition against his own country by fabricating the claim that the election had been stolen from him. Supporting him makes you unAmerican. Your parents must be proud.

Mark is right. Easy money is largely due to the Federal Reserve Bank and it's fight to keep the economy humming during Covid. Yes, the Covid bills passed by Congress also contributed.
But easy money did NOT crash the economy. Yes, easy money plus supply chain constraints increased prices. Yes, price increases hurt the average consumer, but by almost every metric, the economy is VERY strong. And wages for lower earners have increased FASTER than inflation.
The main fear is that by taking actions to quickly stop inflation, the Federal Reserve will damage the actual economy. But that hasn't acyually happened yet.

How is the Pandemic NOT the main contributor and influence of current inflation? Of course it's not all of it, but it started before Biden and when demand is lower than supply, fuck yes inflation will happen across the board when ALL commodities are being detained from coming in and sitting in boats for weeks on end, limiting the supply. That's what happens: supply goes down, prices go up, aka inflation.

Inflation is a demand problem from money printing and negative interest rates
It's also a " Bank Money System " problem that the federal Reserve Bank cartel enjoys perpetuating because the receive interest for every dollar lent to the U.S. Treasury. It should behoove the U.S. to return to the prior " State Money System " that it operated with for 132 years as it is non-interest bearing money. It would also level the play field a bit so that any Bank could compete for loans against any of the 12 federal Reserve Banks. Would the return to the " State Money System " to occur then the bonds and other products could be paid down with State Money thus retiring an equal quantity of " Bank Money "; which would not increase inflation.

They are official. and they DID print way more money than we usualy do, and a lot more than was printed under Trump. There is always a need to print some money. That is a regular thing happening every year. But it is based on economical rules and mechanism. This time they printed money for political reasons, and thats why inflation is getting an increasingly larger problem! In other words they are extremely incompetent!

That's one of the things I didn't get, why was he so hard pressed to make sure it was a statement about oil and gun manufactures, why would a statement plainly saying "we don't want private banks to discourage lending money to any type of business." not be enough? is Oil and guns somehow not included in 'any'?
