Best video I have seen on this. Thanks for explaining what's supposed to happen, how, and why. And what can be done to adjust. Rusty screws can be loosened by applying water and working back and forth. Moisture causes rust and, unlike oil, dissolves it. Same for rusty pliers. After loosening apply WD 40 (to pliers) a moisture displacer and lubricant.

My Samsung oven won't go on but the broiler works any suggestions. Also my burners work.
Nice video... I replaced gas igniter on my 30 + year old Kenmore gas wall oven about 6 years ago and everything worked fine. Problem now is that while the igniter comes on it doesn't seem to get close to being white hot but it does ignite the burner but the burner flames are very small... Like a quarter inch instead of the half inch the manual says is correct. Takes too long to cook...sounds like the igniter so I guess I'll replace that again... I'm just surprised that it only lasted six years or so.
You need to adjust the air/fuel mixture for the oven to increase fuel. Don’t go too far or you’ll get lots of yellow flames which mean carbon-monoxide

Hi Jeff, 90% of the time it’s the igniter.
This video walked me right through and I made one mistake at the end. When I was putting in my new igniter, I dropped it and it shattered. I was 2 minutes from finishing. So remember, do not drop the igniter.

Sometimes a weak igniter will let gas come in even though it’s not hot enough to ignite the gas and you’ll smell gas.

My Kenmore gas oven made a click then popped the breaker. After that it won't heat up. I changed out the igniter but the new igniter won't light either. Broiler and range top still work. Any thoughts?

Oven appears to be missing the intermediate winged heat shield/distribution piece that attaches to the Venturi, before the square (boxy) panel is installed?
I’ve seen many models that don’t have it.
I am wondering if I need to do this. My LG oven may heat up but then it stops heating. My “fix “is to turn on the broiler run it for a minute and then turn on the bake feature again. Seems to work. Maybe the igniter is not reigniting the bake burner because the igniter is it going bad?

I did all of this I change the top and the bottom Spock igniter and it still does the same thing next thing I'm changing is the temperature sensor. I Wonder Could That Be the issue? The stove just won't stay on the gas you'll hear it shut off and it won't light

Question: my stovetop works just fine, but the oven won’t light. I replaced the igniter with a new one, but still nothing. I know it’s almost always the igniter, but I there anything else it could be? Visually, everything looks fine. Could it be I just bought a dud new igniter?
I think it’s time for a new controller that sends power to the igniter.
Our top range burners work but the oven lights up and doesn’t get very hot, does that make it some other problem?

So I changed my oven igniter after several of these tutorials pointed to the igniter as the prob lem. I turned on the oven and still nothing. No glow, hard to tell if there is power going through the wires in there.
So what is next in line if the igniter is not working? *oh, btw, I put a ohm meter on the old igniter and it proved to be still good. Something else is causing the oven igniter to NOT get power. Any ideas?

Both the broil and bake on my gas convection oven will not work so it's hard to believe both ignitors need to be replaced at the exact same time. Any ideas what the problem would be ? I can smell gas so that's not the issue. The oven clicks a number of times but won't lite. Great video.

We have a Suburban oven and the pilot will light but not the burner. Do you know which of these it may be: oven burner electrode, thermocouple/pilot (but the pilot lights), or pilot burner kit?
Hi. I have a very old Magic Chef Gas Stove. Maybe 1960s. (Has the woodgrain design around the controls with unsealed pilot lights)

Awesome video, thank you! My oven would not hear, igniter not nearly as bright as video, but oven kicks on after 30 sec. After lit gas flame is strong then dies out. Would this be also caused by the igniter?

I have a gas grill and cooker the gas grill won't stay lit I push the spark button and push the knob in on the cooker and it sparks and lights but when I release the knob and turn how high or low it cuts out

My oven doesn’t stay hot it does heat up but isn’t staying hot...it eventually cooked the wings I was baking taking almost 3hrs..the broiler works fine however? What now ?

Question..when I turn on the oven to bake I smell a gas leak a good bit too.. but not the same amount of gas when I light the eye on top. Was such a strong smell and amount I turned bake off Could this be the corrugated gas flex line or the actual stove?

I tried starting it with a lighter (no luck). Is there a something in the igniter that would stop the flow of Gas? The burners work fine

My igniter glows red but the oven will not light , propane is good all top burners light so what else could it be
The igniter is worn out. Even though it glows, it doesn’t let the gas flow in for ignition
I just can't figure this one out it is a cheap but very expensive LG oven LOL Iran and Holmes check on the thermostat probe and it showed a thousand plus so that's okay ran conductivity on the glow plug or igniter and there is no break and the continuity test the relay on the circuit board is clicking when temperature is set and start button is pushed.... confused as always any help would be appreciated thanks

When I look through the opening on the bottom tray in the oven, it seems to me that flame is yellow from the bake burner whereas the flame for the boiler is blue...the stove burners are all blue? Do you think it is normal?
I would change the air/fuel mixture for back to have more oxygen.
I have a kitchenaid double oven. My bottom oven works but the top one stopped. I replaced both igniters in the top oven but it still doesn't work. The top one will glow but the bottom igniter won't even though it's new. Any idea what my problem could be?

That’s due to the safety valve shutting off to early and that is often caused by a bad igniter.

The igniter works fine .it ignites fully, the top part works perfectly fine it the bottom part/bake function does not come on, the igniter works/the broiler works, but the broiler part will not turn

Your oven would need a new thermal coupler and that will fix the problem and let gas flow again you can get it at most hardware stores and definitely at an appliance repair store.

Hi, I have a Frigidaire gas oven that will not get to temp. I see flame so it's lighting the gas but it just never gets to temp. Also it's intermitant, sometimes it heats just fine sometimes it doesn't. Any ideas on that?

Can you confirm that the gas valve near the wall is on?
There’s a little gizmo on the gas regulator located near the back of the oven that you need to pull away from the regulator to let gas flow again.

I am so irritated. I was charged $175 for labor and installation on my Frigudare gas range igniter repair. It took him less than 30 minutes to repair. I cant believe how much money I wasted. On to of that, he charged me $65 for the new igniter. Damn!!!
After the new ignitor glows and there is proper ignition, is the ignitor suppose to stop glowing?

"don't want to break these screws.. place a drop of oil on them.." Then go at them with a high torque, low tactile feedback power drill?? Manual screwdrivers are still being manufactured although as here some may have forgotten..
The clutch is adjustable, meaning you can set it to whatever torque you'd like. Get to know your power tools and you'll know exactly what clutch setting to use for what type of screw/scenario
And the process to determine the clutch setting limit results in stripping the fragile sheet metal thread or breaking the screw. That is referred to as a "destruct test". Perhaps you should follow your own advice before attempting to dispense it to others. Use a hand driver for tasks such at this. I'd expect you'd find it at the bottom of you toolbox.
