Thank you so much! I almost bought a new oven if I didn’t come across your video. It only cost me $26 to repair my oven. Your directions were really simple and easy to follow.
I’m so glad for you. Congrats on the successful replacement. Thank you!
Well documented, Sir.
This will actually be the second time I'm replacing the bottom ignitor, and this was the perfect tuner.
Thank you!
Very good video thank you! Wife called repair guy and he said $300 per igniter, watched this video and bought the part for $22.99 online and now it works great! Great instructions
Love your story! Thank you for sharing!
Add me the list of grateful and thankful doit yourselfers who were blessed by your video. You are a great instructor. Thank you for your help and guidance fir this repair.

You will do a great job. We believe in you. Happy holidays! Thanks!
Same situation. Thank you for video. Worked great!
Thank you for these instructions!! I replaced my igniter and now the oven is working much better!!
That is awesome 👏. Have a great weekend! Thanks!
Got my oven back up and running in no time thanks to you all simple steps I have notice that we are changing it every 7-8 month I know we use the oven often but wish it lasted longer
That is awesome. Thanks for sharing!
those were such clear instructions. Thanks so much.
Thank you sir, you are a great teacher and did not leave out any details. My wife is baking a pie now that our oven works again. All is well. All is well.
That is great news. Thanks!
Thank you. I am not an experienced handyperson, but you made this easy and saved me a lot of money by not hiring somebody.
I’m so happy hearing that. Glad it was helpful. Thanks!
I’m so happy hearing that. Glad it was helpful. Thanks!
Thanks so much for your great instructions. Worked like a charm. We have the exact same oven. It would cycle on and start to heat up then it would cycle off. Kept repeating that on and off. Now I am cooking with gas! Lol
Awesome! I’m glad it worked out. Happy cooking again. Thank you!
Thank you so much! This saved me from a very expensive bill.
So glad it was helpful. Thanks!
This is was extremely helpful, in how to fix but also helped in initial diagnosing. Amazon’d part yesterday and fixed in about 20 minutes. Saved lots of money not replacing, also my son only eats a certain type of frozen pizza so we were desperate to have it up quickly.
So glad hearing the good news. Congrats! Thank you!
Excellent video. Nice job, especially with the apple pie included.
Thank you!
Thank you so much! You saved us lots of headaches, time and money! Our oven went kaput on the weekend so no handy men were available. It was kind of an emergency for us too since we rely heavily on our oven and use it multiple times a week. You explained everything and showed everything really well. I ordered the part on Amazon and was able to fix our oven as soon as I got the part within 2 days. Thank you again so much!
That makes me happy. Congrats on the installation. Happy new year! Thanks!
Happy New Year to you as well! Enjoy those pies, they looked delicious!@@diypotentials
perfect video, exactly what I needed. bottom igniter just went out today. ordered the part overnight from Amazon and will swap tomorrow. thank you!
Good luck on the install tomorrow. Thanks!
Thanks so much, very informative and wholesome.
Thank you!
Excellent video. Only 1.5 years old and 4 screws were rusted and thankful for liquid wrench.
I’m glad it was helpful. Thanks!
Thanks for the help!! Your video made changing our igniter a breeze!! We knew exactly what we were doing! Thanks again!!
I’m glad it was helpful! Thank you. 😊
Your video was wonderful! Unfortunately, they had the front screw on the burner tightened so much that I stripped it before I could get it loose. I'm going to try a special screwdriver from work, but this could turn into a single screw making me replace the entire oven. I really do appreciate you putting this together though, it was super straightforward until I came to this issue (which obviously you had nothing to do with)!
Thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear about the front screw situation. I hope things will turn out well in the end. Best regards!
Excellent step by step video. I was a bit nervous dealing with a gas appliance but this is fail safe if you follow along. Took about 30 minutes including cleaning the oven :- ) I used the OEM replacement part from Amazon BTW.
Awesome!Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! This is exactly my issue and I am looking forward to trying this fix
I’m glad it was helpful. Good luck on your project. Thanks!
$20 to fix mine. I am sure an appliance repair shop would have charged $500.
Thank you for making this video. It took all the guesswork out of the job.
Awesome! Thank you!
Yep, my wife called a repair guy on ours they said $285 per igniter! I bought one online and put it in about 15 minutes, part cost $23
Great video! Super helpful. This is the second time I’ve had to replace the igniter on this stove. The video I found last time got the job done but yours was much better in terms of angles where to see the screws, and the order of unplugging the igniter beneath before removing or replacing the screws made it much easier. Pie looks delicious! Keep up the good work and THANK YOU! 🇺🇸🥧
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words and comment! Best regards!
That worked , my stove is fixed. Thanks for the clear and concise video!
Awesome! I’m glad it was helpful. Thank you.
You made this so easy to do. I absolutely love DIY especially since I don’t have to bother the hubby another honey-do. It’ll just add on to the list anyway! 😂. I’ve subscribed to you and look forward to more of your videos.
Thank you for subscribing and I hope all of your diy projects will go well. Best wishes.
Just saved me a couple hundy!! thanks bro!
That’s awesome! Thanks!
@drnotebook For safety reasons you should ALWAYS, ALWAYS turn off electrical and gas lines when you are working on the appliance. WHAT IF the gas valve was faulty and for some reason opened while you were working on it?
SAFETY 101: Use your head and be careful when working on things that have energy sources that can kill you, poison you, or cause a fire (which could kill you).
Thanks for the great reminder on safety!
Great video. Just finished replacing mine. All I had different was that to get the wires unclipped I had to pull the oven out from the wall and remove the back plate. Then they were right in there.
I’m glad it worked out. Thanks for sharing. Happy holidays!
Thank you! I just replaced mine, easy peasy! 😊
Congrats, on a job well done! 🎊 🍻
Thanks bud! Oven was made 11/2017 and this is the THIRD time I've done this🙄
Third time is a charm 😊. Thanks!
This worked for me as well. THANK YOU! Let’s go Warriors!

I’m glad it was helpful. Thank you!
Thank you so much! This was extrermely helpful!
Thank you!
I replaced my bake/bottom igniter. Time for brownies! The screw at the front of the tube holding it in place was a little tough to get out. It sits on a small platform so I just shot it with a very small amount of P Blaster and slightly inserted a small flat blade screwdriver between the compressed part of the tube and its platform and wiggled it. I can see corrosion and the heat/cool cycles freezing screws in place. The reason for the very small amount of P Blaster is because I wanted to make sure I left zero behind- cleaned up with soap and water afterward.
Awesome! Glad you fixed it. Thank you!
Thank you! Fixed just in time to host Thanksgiving!!
Awesome! Happy Thanksgiving!
Very helpful. Thank you!

We have the same issue except it is intermittent. Most of the time the oven works but sometimes it will only get up to 175 degrees and we can see the glow of a flame. Do you think the ignitor is the cause?
Same
Hello there ... My bottom one if perfectly working, but I noticed you touch with your hand the one on the top. Was this to make sure it is hot and of course working? Let me share with you, my oven is leaking gas at the time I turn it on, but I do not know if it is related with this top burner, since I do not know when it has to be on
You just mentioned you chage that one about one year ago after replacing the bottom one and I'm wondering if the change was due to a gas leaking or just not turning on. I hope you can help to understand this issue
So I've replaced the igniter switch
The flow of gas doesn't seem hard enough to make the oven heat warm enough it is taking a very long time to come up to temperature is there something more I need to do
We bought our stove in 2018. I'm replacing my igniter the 2nd😮 time since 2020
Thanks for sharing!
Got it! Thank you
Thank you as well!
Has your igniter held up? The aftermarket igniter is considerably less expensive than Samsung's!
So far so good 😊. Thanks!
Hi - great video! Makes the repair look really easy. May I ask what model number your oven is? It looks very similar to mine but I wanted to double check before pulling the trigger on the part.
Thank you! The model # is NX58H5650WS. Good luck on your project.
@@diypotentials Thank you for your quick reply, my model number is slightly different but the part and method worked despite that! Thanks again for the video!
Can I please get the link to the igniter
Where did you purchase the igniter?
Are the igniters the same for all Samsungs? It looks like I have the same oven as you but just wanted to know. Ty!
Is the ignitor for the broiler and the oven the same. I have a similar issue, but since my broiler works (which we rarely use), could I just switch the working ignitor (broiler) for the broken one (oven)? Thanks!
It should be the same igniter. I hope the project went well. May you can share how it is done on UA-cam. Thanks!
What model is the oven? What is the part number for the igniter? thx
Thank you. I ordered my igniter. One question, why not turn off the gas to the oven. Is it necessary?
The gas shouldn’t be able to come on when the oven is off. You can unplug the oven if you like.
Thank you again for the helpful video. Replaced new and tested. All works just fine. Saved me a service call. God bless! @@diypotentials

Oh my goodness, so glad I found your video!! I used your link and such a great price. Thank you so much.
hi, I just replaced mine and now my oven has a burning smell like chemicals or plastic burning when its's on? I'm wondering if it's just from debris that's finally burning now that it's hotter, or if I did something wrong? it all looks good and is heating up properly
I hope the smell are gone by now and that all is well. Thank you!
I was having the same problem, replaced the igniter and it still doesn't heat up. Checked the gas pressure regulator, it is on. Any ideas on what else it could be? Or is it time to call a technician?
Sorry to hear. What a bummer! It might be faulty igniter or electrical issues, loosed or burned wires, preventing current from reaching the igniter or circuit board issues. It is your call if it is time to call a technician. Thanks for reaching out. Best of luck.
Checking the continuity using a meter of the igniter is your best bet. Put it in continuity mode and take the two leads in the igniter connector after you remove it. It should beep… if it doesn’t then it’s the igniter. If not it could be the heating element… or both. Sometimes the wires get burnt so check them and make sure the connection is good. A new igniter is around $25 and really easy to fix. They’re either flat or round… BE CAREFUL… to NOT touch the black carbon part of the igniter due to finger oils and it being extremely fragile. Most likely it’s the heating element if the igniter is working. Every oven is different… some have a “breaker like switch” in the back that can grip like a fuse. Sometimes you might have to flip the switch back after replacing it
Did you turn off the gas supply before you started your work??
No. The gas shouldn’t come on if the oven is off. However, you can always turn it off. Thanks!
@@diypotentials 👍
Thank you very much for your video I managed to change the igniter with your help.
My Samsung acting same way, and extended warranty expired. I am ordering new oven igniter
Best of luck on the install! Thanks!
@@diypotentials fixed issue of my oven taking forever & never heating up.
Samsung charges like $250+ for these ignitors. Ridiculous for an identical part you can buy for $25 online when theirs is junk.
Thanks!
My neighbor just paid $265 to have hers replaced
Wow! Replacement services are costly. Thanks!
Great video. Complete. For the Exact Model of my Stove !! Samsung Household Gas Oven Range Model Number: NX58H5600SS/AA
