So when I turn on the oven I can see the orange glow through the slots which I believe means the igniter is working, but the oven is still not heating up, what could it be?
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel so it’s not the valve. Since I saw it glowing really bright I was thinking on changing the valve instead. How do I recognize what’s really damaged?
It’s super common for a bright glow but no gas. The new igniter solves it. The igniters are cheap and easy to replace. I’m assuming that there is gas lighting the surface burners.
That means the bake relay located on the control board in the upper consul, needs to be replaced because it is not sending power to the safety valve and igniter.
Interesting, I called the appliance company, they said “ we charge $500 for replacing a igniter . Thus you are better off buying a new oven. That’s not even seeing oven? WTF? Yep,
The igniters with the plug just cost more.
Igniter works but gas ain’t coming out on my stove
Even though the igniter glows, it won’t let gas come in if it’s wearing out, a new igniter will fix it👍
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel so it’s not the valve.
Why cut the wires and use ceramic wire nuts?
I know it’s much easier, but I rather take the cover off and connect it without cutting it.
It’s a little faster way to get to the igniter 👍
easy. quick.
Thank you😊
Don't glow and replaced the ignitor
That means the bake relay located on the control board in the upper consul, needs to be replaced because it is not sending power to the safety valve and igniter.
The bake won’t work?
Interesting, I called the appliance company, they said “ we charge $500 for replacing a igniter . Thus you are better off buying a new oven. That’s not even seeing oven? WTF? I am 70 yrs old and going to use your advice just to peek at igniter. Yes, the oven is 9 yrs old but like you not using much. I will update u You what I find!!!
Please let us know how it goes. The igniter is only around 20.00👍
My oven won’t light
I think you need a new igniter 😊
I can’t see the wires you attached
Or just unplug it?
It’s best to do both.
Are we going to pretend like there's not a water heater in the kitchen?
That can’t be up to code🤪😬
I take it you don't have to cut the power to put those wires back together 😆
Eight years? aaahahahahaha My 9 year old Frigidaire gallery has burned up three already - number four going in. OEM parts!! $120 each - the $30 jobs won't fit because they changed the houseing mounting tabs. Do not buy a Gallery - you pay more to get hosed better.
I feel like that’s the problem I’m having. The “universal” one I ordered off Amazon for $40 looks a lot different than the one I just took outta my stove.
You can bend the metal housing of the old one and fit in the new ceramic igniter and then bend the metal case in on the new igniter.
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Ya, I saved the old OEM so i can yank the old ceramic igniter out and re-use the old housing. Thanks Scott.
“Easy fix” lol
LoL
Im like in who's world ?
In every world, what exactly is difficult or even too time consuming about this fix?
This video is worthless. How do you even know if that's the problem? You showed no troubleshooting you just threw a part at it and hoped that fixed the issue.
98% of the time it’s the igniter.
2% it’s a bad relay on the control board.
Start with the obvious and cheapest👍
