Thxs for the video. Got my Slayer Max yesterday. Just waiting for the Native sidekick to install. Got the Lowrance Hook 2 7in. And I'm ready to get going. Yes! This kayak is badass.
Thanks for doing this video. I thought about trying to flip mine but I had already put switches in my electronics panel. Lol but I did do a review after having the kayak 9 months. It is really stable and you do a great job of demonstrating it
Seems like it rolls more than the Titans before the secondary kicks in? The Slayer also has a much longer keel than the Titans; it should track better.
I know this video is slightly old.....but if you were choosing between this and the titan 12 or 13, which would you choose? Weight and size are not an issue in choice, and will be used for river fishing mostly.
330 lb man. Looking for good pedal kayak for lakes, inshore and ocean(maybe). Had a seaghost 130, Topwater 120 (nonpdl) and Wildreness Ride 115(not a fan). How would the Slayer Max compare with these? Topwater was most stable to me but Seaghost was good also.
Hey Aliex, your opinion on this stability vs the SS127? My wife and I are looking into moving on from the Bonafides as we are wanting to get into pedal drives. I am leaning towards the Titan and she is looking at the Slayer Max. Is this guy more stable than the SS127?
I was looking at the SS127 as a paddle kayak until I ran into the slayer 12 xc... It's the slayer max without the pedal drive basically but it's built for rivers as well as lakes... It's probably the perfect kayak in my opinion lol
@@doobydoggshit Mainly interested in the stability. If it is as stable to more stable than the Bonafide ss127 then it sounds perfect. Able to stand and move around in the Bonafide with no issues. If the Slayer Max is not as stable then I will prob opt for the Titan 13.5. I don't mind the weight and I don't have to go fast. Mainly fishing lakes. I have tree trunks for legs and cycle so I can pedal all day :)
I am contemplating getting a Native Slayer Propel 10. My biggest concern is the weight. It would be more easier for me to load it when I go out by myself. I have had people suggest the Hobie Compass. The 12 isn't much more in weight and I should be able to handle it. It doesn't have the dry hatch up front or as much tracks as the Native. I am indecisive. I don't go into the marshes. We mostly go out on the lakes and rivers. Some of the rivers get very shallow and rocky. I've read the Slayer won't track as well as the Compass especially in faster moving water. Can you offer any suggestions. Thanks
It won't track as well because it is 2ft shorter, won't be as fast, you can always add a hatch to the front of the compass, I think compass is a better fit, not a big fan of the 10ft slayer
Damm this is the yak I would probably buy as my pedal drive. I want the instant reverse and this should do it. The bottom hull looks almost like old town Topwater 120. It has crazy stability and looks fast on the water.

Come on Alex! The Slayer is very stable, but if you do a Titan 12 vs Slayer comparison, it will be no contest. I believe the Titan will win primary and secondary, even with seat risers.

@@AliexFolgueira Thanks for the quick replay, I have trailers so not a big deal , Live in the nature coast and seem to be the only one not fishing. So I will be fishing the flats or rivers all the time.
So many things to like about this kayak however the rudder needs a complete re-think. Looks very flimsy and is in a position where it can be easily damaged. Need something like the Hobie PA where the rudder swings up for transporting. So close to perfection Native Watercraft but not quite there.

For a 34 inch wide kayak this thing is extremely stable. It’s gonna feel a little tippy but the secondary stability is great!
In your opinion what’s better this kayak or the old town 120 pdl?!?!

How does the stability of the native 12.5 max compare to the newest hobie outback?
Native is 100% stable, outback 90%

Standing up on the predator is very stable, because of the deep wall, seating? Not as good as this slayer

No, Hobie doesn’t offer any 360 seats
I tested one and initial stability seemed tippy - but I’m 6’5”, 310, so... I’m debating between the Titan 12 and Titan 13.5.
Yeah I'm only 190, but even the titan would move a little... At your size I would probably get the 13
Only thing holding me back is transport... but with the Sidekick I don’t think it’ll be bad. Just wheel it up to the truck
How do you think this boat would do off shore or In rougher water with more current?
It has been offshore and it did great, just make sure to not let sand get in the rudder system.
