Those programs changed my life .
Supermarkets where different places back then .
People cant deny that Jamie changed people's outlook on food and now me and my mates are all parents we will show our kids how to cook.
Cheers Jamie .
@John Gilmore he isn't really mate , he has a good heart and believes that food is important , to be fair calling someone a wanker in a youtube comments section is fairly ironic .
Awe that is so nice!
@@albazamora1767 Thank you!!!! , I think people really under estimate the impact he has had on food culture in the UK.
Jamie really changed the whole food landscape... how many he's inspired and still does... gotta love him!
For sure, totally agree.
I'm a fan of this guy since the age of 14. I'm 24 now, and he has definitely influenced my cooking.
bigsteve1207 shame his restaurants have failed but he’s still a great tv chef
Shame all his restaurants failed in Sydney
Word up. Me 2.
It's crazy to think for 20 years this guy has completely changed my attitude towards how i cook, and still influences me today. I'm a lifelong student of this guy. Bless.
The Naked Chef didn't just start me coming but changed my relationship with food. In fact I think it changed British male attitude to food and cooking. Jamie has inspired me ever since and today I love to cook.
"The Naked Chef didn't just start me coming" 😂
Bad choice of words lol
You can say what you like about Jamie but he genuinely changed the way the country eats and thinks about food. I remember being young and my mum going from traditional boiled veg and dry meat. To actual food from his books x
I looooove these retrospective episodes. It's so interesting to hear Jamie's reflections on his beginning and it's great to see how well his recip s stood the test of time. Love you Jamie! ❤️
My gosh this is mouthwatering! Jamie is one of the best celebrity chefs and he's my favorite.
“A lot has changed in 20 years”... thanks to you Jamie, thanks to you! You’re an amazing chef, but it is your down to earth personality is what makes your food so great.
4:41 not the first time I have heard that sentence
hahah
LMAO
Jamie, you made cooking fun for so many young people. You definitely inspired at least one nation. Hats off to you!
Great! It's looks delicious.
Splended chef.
I used to watch the jamie at home series with my sisters growing up. Wish i could binge that show again
I admire Jamie, I was a kid when I watched naked chef with my dad, he did well for himself
Congrats Jamie! 20 years of awesome food and great entertainment 😁 thank you.

I met you 20 years ago when i was a teenager, in Melbourne. I lined up so you could sign your very first cookbook. I still have it today because I remember what a generous & kind person you were & i even have a photo of us to remember it. Thank you Jamie, im still cooking today!
Jamie, you’re an incredible person. You’ve impressed so many people. Live legend!!!
What a legend Jamie is. You’ve had ups and downs and the pressure of being you must be a big weight on your shoulders but you’ve kept your cool and crack on. You deserve everything you’ve got proper grafter and a sound bloke x
Just keep doing what you do Jamie, love you since you started all the cooking to the world, and still is a pleasure to watch you doing your magic for so many years now, such a humble and down to earth person. Greets
The reason and passion why I started cooking during my teens is all because of u.. God bless to you and your family Jamie..
Love you as much now as I did back then. You’ve inspired and entertained millions, maybe billions of us for 2 decades. Thank you JO
Watching the Naked Chef was what got me interested in food and cooking! 😀
For those of us who have been with Jamie since the start, this walk down memory lane is an absolute joy!
I watching your videos as a so long time and its never boring i Love it ❤️😍
Congratulations Jamie, 20 great years! Thanks for sharing your recipes...
You're the best, Jamie. Kudos on 20 years of excellence.
You are such an inspiration Jamie. Lots of love you and your family. You are my hero.
excellent! really brings me back. thank you Jamie.
GORGEOUS! Looks so simple and easy. I have to try this.
What an awesome video Jamie! I really love the answering question while cooking! Keep up the good work!
Wow, that looks mouthwatering
That dish is pure love! 😍🍴
Time has not battered your zest for life or food - an inspiring gift in a troubled world - blessings Jamie xx
That was the first cookbook that I bought at the ripe old age of 14 haha. Time sure flies.
Reminiscing about the naked chef makes me so happy. It’s so cool seeing that you have grown so much in confidence and personality and achieved something that all chefs would die for! You really are one of the greats my dude! Cheers to another 20 years mate 🍻.
20 years... Unbelievable...
I still have series 3 on DVD, And one of my favourite episodes is you cooking a roast for Jamiroquai.
Great video. Thanks for posting.
I've waited for this insight for 20 years. I can remember, as a 13 year old kid, staying up WAY past my bedtime to watch The Naked Chef with the volume down so I didn't wake my mom and get caught. I can't wait to hear more about behind the scenes of the insanely influential show that never really got its due stateside!
20 years already, I used to watch The Naked Chef as a young kid, the show had such a relaxing vibe. It’s the reason why I started cooking and developed a passion for food.
This is exactly why for me Jamie is the best celebrity chef...he makes meals that are not only great but any raving idiot like me can make....can we have the roast chicken next with a Jay Kay cameo...that dish is proper pukka
Still the best cook book I own.!!!
Thank you Mr Oliver .!!
This recipe is so iconic of Jamie. It is hands down the best spaghetti meat ball recipe out there. So many flavors that all go so well together. Love eating it
Hearing you go through this made me nostalgic and brought me right back to me sitting with my mom, dad and sister and watching your show ! - loved it then, love it now! + you're pretty much the reason I love cooking, and know how to
Young Jamie Oliver was the greatest, most patient teacher I’ve ever seen. Those old videos were great. 👍🏼
Love all of Jamie’s shows!
Congrats on 20 years! You've help to get people off fast food and back into the kitchen all this time. I salute you, mate!
Can’t believe I’ve known you for 20 years!!! Naked Chef was the motivation for me to cook till this day. Thank you Jamie, and the shirt still looks good on you :)
Really enjoyed this video, I loved watching The Naked Chef, cooking his recipes and i still have the book.......Great to see Jamie revisiting some of his old recipes.
You are the only chef I know used all kinds of spices from all over the world. I love your creativity and confidence is using ingredients making foods delicious!
Absolutely love your videos. You're my favourite chef! ❤ You're an inspiration, Jamie! Those meatballs looked delicious! 👌
I love your simple recipes. Thank you.
The naked chef show taught me to cook, been following Jamie ever since
Definitely going to try this recipe! Thank you
The naked chef. Always been a fan. Grew up with that and certainly his vibes, cooking approach and banter have reinforced my love for cooking over the years
I wish jamie good fortune and to get back up on top of his game. He taught us a lot, entertained us even more, and I wish him well.
He's worth 300 million dollars, trust me, he doesn't need your wishes.
Just waiting for this to come out the oven. It smells freaking amazing!!!! Yummm! Thanks Jamie and Team 😋🤤
I've been a kind of maverick home cook since I was little boy. And Jamie was the one who convince me that is OK. I am a big fan of him even though I am much older than him. Thank you Jamie for all the knowledge and inspiration of having fun in cooking. Keep on inspiring us
The Naked Chef books are still the ones I use the most. The recipes are always something I can do and yet there is always something in it that I would not think of and that makes it so much better. Usually that bit has to do with the seasoning, I think Jamie is a master at that. Hence I am not surprised by the nutmeg story.
Thanks Jamie, and here's to the next 20 years. You inspired me to cook for my son, and become a better dad, and hopefully, my son will be a better man for that!
Always has great energy and spirit.very very refreshing.
Yes! Love the retro look at the previous books' recipes.
We love you, Jamie! 😍😍😍 happy 20th anniversary! 🎉🎆
Amazing and motivating to cook! I love it!! Thank you.
the way he cooks, it makes me drooling.. 🤤
I am so glad to watch you cook again
Still have my signed copy of this book, I was 8 years old in Auckland and Jamie gave me a hug!
Jamie me encantó desde la primera vez que lo vi! Se me hizo tan apasionado con lo que decía que comencé a ver la comida de manera diferente! ♥️
Love you Jamie, easy peasy recipe, thank you!
I have such respect for Jamie Oliver. Seems such a decent man as well as an incredible chef. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
My food journey started with that television series and that book. Still got it, it's a little worse for wear, but still love browsing through it. To this day, the pork belly, couscous (salad and spicy), slow-cooked lamb shank and pickled chillies recipes (or versions thereof) are staples in my house. Legendary in my eyes. He got/gets a lot of stick but, honestly, he must be one of the few chefs that really turned the world of home-cooking around.
Thanks for inspiring us all. Watched all your naked chef shows back then, and really loved them! Great following your YT-channel as well. :)
Looks amazing !
Jamie made cooking not only interesting but fun as well. I happy he continues to do so!
Looovve jamie, hav been watching him for 20 years ..1st hubby started to cook cos of jamie🤗🤗
20 years later and you’re still pukka! My favorite chef 👏🎉🍾
My mam loves your show and she didn’t stop watching the show.. till sadly she died 2012 ..
all respect & love to you ..
20 years?! Where did the time go? The Naked Chef was the tv-show that introduced me to italian food, and made me want to try cooking myself. Opposite to the other posh cooking shows at that time, Jamie just made cooking look fun, easy and creative. I still have the two Naked Chef cook books on my shelf.
Pretty much learned to cook from this book. Still making the basic tomato sauce and the baked chocolate torte 20 years later and they are as good as ever.
There's something to Jamie that makes him so charismatic. Maybe it was how he made cooking so much more casual and approachable as compared to other food programs at the time.
20 years blimey!!! I was given your second book as a present and those recipes were the first things I ever cooked cheers muchly!
I’ve got to try these x
Love to try it
He made cooking trendy. The shows blend of indie rock and rustic food were perfect and in innovation in its time. I remember the Jamiroquai special when he cooked them a roast. Bloke is under rated for his genius as a chef and his care for what our kids eat. Sir Jamie 👍🏻
Great, as always! ❤
Inspiring as usualJamie!
You've come a long way Baby! Keep the recipes coming, my kids and I watch your tv episodes together, and then we try to duplicate them in the kitchen together, thank you for that!
Thanks - congratulations 20 years.
I cook all the time for my family now
Getting better ..
Thanks .
This video is very comfortable to watch , I love it
As always, a relax and friendly approach. Loving all your video.
I remember your book as a teenager it was inspirational and something I wondered about after 22 years ago amazing
I cooked my first meal for myself from The Naked Chef, that garlic oil spaghetti with crispy herby breadcrumbs thing. It was so good and I remember watching every episode as it came out on TV.
Jamie Oliver is a living proof that a person may have a person to look up to, that are younger. I met "The Naked Chef" when I was 34, and I never looked back ever since. On my shelf are 97 cook books, and 12 of them are Jamie Oliver (one duplicate, as I have"The Naked Chef" in english and my own language). No points for guessing which author I keep coming back to :-)
Cheers Mr Oliver. I 'll be there in 20 years to congratulate you on the 40 year anniversary. Love from Denmark.
The first time I ever saw Jamie Oliver on TV, I was stationed on an air force base in Saudi Arabia in 2001. Sadly, being stuck in America since then, I haven't really seen him in 18 years. Nice to see him again. I'll give this recipe a try.
I’m so making these very soon...drooling 😜💖
One of My fav meals, OMG ! Look so delicious !
The amount of innuendo you managed to cram into this is glorious
I used to watch the naked chef with my late mom back in South Africa in the 90s. We both absolutely adored you! Such special memories - and im still a massive fan today! Made your roast chicken and clementine and sage roast potatoes just last night :)
Can't get enough of you Jaime 💕💕💕💕
Fantastic recipe
Still the best chef ever always able to make your recipes easily and they taste amazing
I really enjoyed his earlier shows. I wouldn’t changed anything. He makes cooking fun and I love his little quirks.
Wow that looks really good
So I've been officially watching Jamie Oliver for 20 years now... I remember I was still a child and he had the funniest voice over in my country... I loved it already
Love Jamie been a big fan for years
