Nothing against Ant but I missed Edd to the point I just don’t watch anymore. To me, this was the interesting part. I spent four years selling cars and I was around so many US versions of Mike Brewer that enough is enough. Was hoping Edd would end up with regular uploads on a UA-cam channel.
i think they changed the format too much, that's the problem. They have a very long thing at the end now that is Mike and Ant doing something with the car, no one cares about that. I would prefer to see more of the mechanics and body work in the car.
@@EMB1199 unfortunately, the money from selling the show is made mainly in the US, so they tailored the show to fit the attention span of the average american audience, by focusing more on the entertainment than the education to make it more saleable.
I felt that way at first, but Ant is a better fabricator. He was much more imaginative with what he did (even if it flopped sometimes). And I liked it much better in the US. More interesting cars, more interesting scenery.

...now I've noticed the difference between this series (with Edd) vs Ant, there is a good portion of the technical bits missing, no wonder Edd wanted to leave, they were cutting out the best bits. I AM NOT SAYING ANT IS BAD! but It's in the hands of the Americans now so I can really see the difference.
Totally agree Edd wanted to show how to do things in detail Ant does good job but all the fans noticed that the show is now Americanised and why edd made his decision The show needs to go back to uk/European cars
If you compare this series to the new, we can see what Edd was talking about, a lot of the oily technical bits we see here during his time are missing, Not that Ant is bad, I like him, but it's the producers of the show that have made that choice which rubbed Edd the wrong way.
WD is a fine program. If you've discovered it after Edd left, you'll enjoy the new show, but it's a very different from the old one. I don't watch it now.
Wow this is a blast from the past!. I never missed an episode for first 13 series (even tolerated the Mike bits) shame it was never the same when Edd left.
Was great meeting you and Mike at 50th on the wet evening when you were filming with the Urracco and after came over to have a photo with us. Love the fact you went and did your own thing. 👍👍
I used to make hydraulic hoses. This hose isn't specific to a Lambo. Although Italian Hyrdaulic fittings may be quite specific and rare I've produced/made plenty of Italian hydraulic hoses for 'palfingers' an Italian Knuckle boom.
Back when Wheeler Dealers actually showed the mechanics in detail, whereas nowadays ant is like “Right let’s get this beauty painted!” and it jump cuts from a rusty car to a freshly painted one 🙄 #MakeWDGreatAgain
That was actually why Ed left. The producers thought the show would get a broader audience if they dialed back the tech work and he disagreed. It got to be a strong argument and then it all ended.
"A Bull In the China Shop" Ed, you have always been and will always be awesome. I love the lingo, the knowledge and you in general with the way you do things. ALWAYS a fan. Thank You.
I'm not a regular viewer of this show but this episode caught my eye. The show's mechanic, Edd China, needs to disassemble an exotic and totally unfamiliar Lamborghini Urraco drivetrain and bring it back to life. His intuition about the problem areas of the engine/clutch/transmission is uncanny. He is able to put everything right for what I'd estimate would be a tiny fraction the cost of having this car serviced at a factory-authorized center. I'm not a mechanic but am enough of a motorhead to appreciate the beauty of this little Lambo V8, and the respect Edd gives to its exotic appeal. A very entertaining episode.
As an American, I would like to request that you bring back Edd. Whatever focus group you used that told you to replace him and remove all technical explanations to better appeal to an American audience was dead wrong.
Pleasure to watch, every moment a joy. Not sure about when Del Boy turns up to jump and shout, but the rest was brilliant. Weird final moment with Ants photo, dont understand that.
For Sunday Sherlocks: I wrote that "results stolen" because on the Italian police database by entering the license plate it appears that number corresponds to a stolen vehicle, this doesn't mean that the car was actually stolen, it could be trivially an error.
Agree. The cam seals, crank seals and rear main seal should have been done, very suprising oversight by Edd. But, this is still one of the best all time episodes IMO!
I understand that there are many people hurt since Edd but I would like to comment on the mechanical jewel that was the Urraco. Great job, excellent result on this Lambo 🚀
beautiful beautiful beautiful, nice to see you put some well deserved love back to it, just like you said, thanks for sharing! OMG 2500 for clutch parts wtf
First of all, awesome video! I hope you did all the WYAIT stuff..... 1. What did they do, run straight water as coolant? There was no ethylene glycol dripping when you removed the coolant hose. 2. I can understand the Boris Johnson hair, but dude....Those sideburns have GOT to go~!
Nice video. I got a lot off problems from bad design on leak waterpump go through the distributor and also a broken gear claw, broken speed gauge cable, engine oil leak .but that was 40 years ago
Very well considered decisions on which parts to replace and to carry out a full engine service before attempting to start the car! These new parts, the full engine service and the calibre of the workmanship will certainly have increased the value of this rare, exotic car. I shall try to find a full episode on this really lovely car.
