Blended with taking advantage of all modern technology. You are very kind in describing wheeler dealer. I think most of the old fans were like me. I fast forwarded through Mike displaying all the negative stereotypes about car salesman. I just didn’t care for his personality. He got worse as the years went on. Frankly, I thought he was very very jealous of you. Mike did not have the skills you had. When it came to your work, I watched it in great detail and often re-watched it two or three times. It’s crazy because you were the show. Mike’s bit was frankly not that valuable. Well your work was priceless. I like your UA-cam channel even more. Please keep posting material.

I'm in the same boat. I wish the "clip show" videos were labeled so that I knew in advance. I'm getting frustrated and trying not to give up on clicking Edd's videos hoping for new content.
Ah so it's not just me. I was pretty sure i saw Edd work on this chassis before. It's a shame there's these reruns of episodes. Hopefully he'll be back soon with new videos.
Edd has got a normal 9-5 job with warranty wise. I assume couldn't make this channel work and it is now defunct... Months since last update and even that was regurgitated content. Shame but a mans got to make a living.
Here is the truth :o) I raced this chassis type for two decades and I have been inside all of it. I even ran a winch line down the inside of it! The best fix is to cut the bottom plate off and replace it with 3mm. Why so extreme you might ask? Well, that isn’t rust on the steel, that rust was the chassis, it’s gone now, especially on the inside. I have done this on my 1991 Ford transit box van and it works ace. If this is going to be used off road it needs a strong impact layer and the 3mm will be a stout bit of metal to attach a belly plate. * I’m glad you went with a full chassis strip, it will make a very nice classic car to have fun with :D
like the channel but the last 10 or so episodes have pretty much just been at best re-esits of older stuff. is there any hint when something new will be coming?

I know it would be hellishly loud but try using an air chisel with a bull nosed chisel bit in it and run it up and down the chassis legs to get most of the rust out before it goes for pickling then galvanizing. Plus if you have to cut sections out of the side of the chassis legs due to being pitting and holed you can clean out all the big chunks of flaked off rust.
Just saying Ed but I always undo the filler before the drain just in case the filler doesn’t want to undo. If it doesn’t then you can’t easily refill and you’re a bit stuffed! Anyhow, loving the videos. 👍😀
The presenting skills are great. I noticed the Hydrovane when Plasma cutter was mentioned. I did not know the name was still being used as it goes back to the days of Binks and then Binks Bullows making stuff for motorbikes, compressors and the like.

So in case no one has seen it, Edd has apparently gone corporate. He's working for Warrentywise as their arbiter for claims. I'm guessing YT wasn't bringing in enough money. Guess we may never see the end of the Range Rover project.
Well, like everybody else he needs to make a living, and YT didn't exactly provide him with the means to do that. Just look at the numbers of views on his videos, they are not exactly overwhelming for a channel with almost 1 mill. subscribers. He wouldn't be able to make a decent living out of those numbers.
Watching at 46:34 or so.. well one it looks like a bunch of fun doing that (maybe wet but still super satisfying getting all that 40 year old dirt and grime out) but I was thinking - maybe not with all the pressure, necessarily, but - It would be a nice treat to use that little attachment you have to get into all the tiny orifices and instead of WATER, once you're all clean using OIL - like sticky oil that could preserve inside those frame rails for eternity (or 20 years at least maybe with a freshening up every once in a while! ) I mean we kind of do the same thing, I live in the North East in the States and they definitely use salt on the roads in winter, and it just eats undercarriages alive. Man that would really be sweet to do to all my vehicles!
Edd, I almost didn't realise that it's been TWO months since we've heard from you. We're begging you, or whoever runs this channel, PLEASE just give us a brief update of what's going on. Even if you tell us you've decided to leave UA-cam altogether forever, that's fine. No explanation needed. Most of us just want to know you're alright.

So looking through the video on Social Blade, Edd has not made a new video since Christmas last year! There been no new content at all from Christmas until February which is when the ‘repeats’ started being published. I don’t think the channel has gone for more than about 3 days without reposting old videos. Someone’s busy but it’s pretty obvious it isn’t Edd! The Christmas videos didn’t do that well and every video since has been poorly received. If it was possible to make new content it would happen so there’s a big fat ? at the moment and absolutely no sign of these repeats slowing down

On John Guest's website there is an article from January 2023 explaining a partnership with Edd which is when he went missing
Having read a few of the comments I find it strange that people seem to feel that Ed owes them something and that he should let them into his life. I really feel this highlights the vicarious nature of these platforms and in my humble opinion it isn’t healthy. Having said that, I was quite interested in these videos initially, but then there are seemingly months of nothing. I assumed that I was missing something because I don’t engage in anything other than UA-cam, but from the comments it seems not. If I see something of interest I’ll watch it, but these long breaks simply interrupt any momentum so I’m not at all bought in. I find the owner of the Range Rover rather odd and a bit rude (I sense there is an attempt at humour but I’m not really feeling it). When I start watching something I’m usually sure I’ve seen it before. It’s all a bit of a waste of time. I think Ed is great and he gave me the confidence to start (and finish) my own restoration projects, but this latest series feels like a massive missed opportunity. Clearly he has other things pulling on his time. Good luck Ed, but probably best to give it a rest until you have time to generate regular content.
One day the Bad Obsession boys will realise that nobody is going to pay their silly random of 100 quid and they'll just have to let Edd go. Either that or they're teaching Edd the skill of pacing from their experience with Binky.

I used to enjoy the new videos each Friday and look forward to them being released, but now another week passes, another Friday comes and still no new (or even old) content. I really hope Edd is ok but its such a shame we’ve not been told anything. Has anyone contacted any of the sponsors to see if they know what’s happening? I realise that people do need breaks and that good content takes time to make but it’s been about 7 months now with nothing new and very little communications. Fingers crossed new content will appear at some point or if not then at least some sort of announcement or video about the closure of this workshop project.

Next time you clean up a chassis like this, can I suggest weighing it before and after removing all the dirt. Thought it might be interesting to see the weight of the dirt it contained. Love the show, my favourite utube subscription. Best wishes from down under.
Would it not be better to have it dipped in acid to remove the rust inside the chassis, if it's not 100% clean the zinc will not adhere to the metal and galvanising will be a waste of time..??

Just re watching some of these episodes - good thing they rushed ahead with the chassis repair to speed the project up 🎉

True! I had a moment on an IB5 'box where I drained it and couldn't get the filler plug undone initially!

@@eddchina I'm afraid not, the only option is the dreaded auto captioning from UA-cam whom haven't changed it in almost a decades, whether the one you have used in the past to create the closed captioning made it far more accessible
