lots of cool stuff in this vid. maybe partly because it's fun to be a fly on the wall with you two. 2:30 no suction- I love that too! it's one really sketchy system that is nice to remove. 4:40 I was told to settle down, fly the pattern, and climb after exiting. Even at the little airfield where you cannot fly straight out and there's a hill past the downwind- so I stay and climb after the downwind, if it's hot and heavy I turn right at the end (opposite of turning base) and climb before turning left and going up and over. if that makes sense. 7:20 making a friend-pilot comfortable vs a guest. Nice description. 8:10 "you picked a good time to get through here" - nice to hear! 19:50 some cool music under here.
Thanks man! I am always torn about releasing fly on the wall videos... I enjoy them as document, but wonder if anyone else gets anything out of them. Glad you did sir! And yes the pattern exit you describe makes sense.
Not a boring video. I love that airport although I haven’t landed there. BTW, on the day of your flight, M54/Lebanon was closed for runway painting and all the Class Bravo flight school planes had been moved to Gallatin, along with others. So those planes were making the pattern busy, plus the MTSU planes and the flight school planes from Smyrna that would otherwise have been in the pattern at M54. Later that same day, I flew a rental plane from Gallatin (still super busy) to KEKX in Kentucky and back. Too bad I missed you on the radio! Like you, I also saw more high-altitude birds than usual. Lots of thermals that afternoon-I really got knocked around.
Thanks my friend! Ah yes I recall seeing M54 closed that day but did not put that together. Yes 1A7 is a neat spot - worth exploring just for the unique approach! Glad you got up that day - was a good one!
That seemed like a very therapeutic flight. I need to fly into 1A7, it looks like a challenge. Might want to check the bottom of the plane, gonna have to clean that butter off of it. ;) Great video! I still think my favorite part is the way you edit the checklist. #props
Welcome to the wonderful (horrible) world of aircraft ownership! I love owning an airplane, it comes with it's own headaches, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!!!
@@BrianSiskind I do, keep my airplane based at BNA. Haven't been doing much with my channel the last couple years but I'm digging your videos! Starting to get motivated again.

Man, those approaches are anything but boring. What a beautiful and unique place!
It really is!

Thanks man yes trading one set of calamities for another indeed. I am excited (and prepared for-ish) the future!
Meant to say also - great channel man I have seen your videos before! Give a shout since you are local. You fly out of BNA if I recall right?
