Thank you for the great video! My car is as old (and as japanese) as the GC8 Impreya, so bodyflex and weak brakes are an issue here. I didn't really get (even if I stopped the video) a good picture of the brake heat stickers. How do I find it in your shop? And how do I use them? :-D Do they go on the disc? Aren't they too big?
As a subaru owner i could not be more happy to see this, i already have big part of essential mods on my car but i can say a fact about brakes: Front sumitomo 4 pot calipers are used on early r32 gtr, 300zx tt and s14 silvia, all of this cars are heavier than imprezas so the size of the brakes are not the problem, the problem is their construction material, iron and the pots gets rusted and blocked in the caliper with time and you end having only 2 or less pots working. I rebuild them a few years ago with stainless steel pistons and never had a problem with brakes anymore with a propper pad, lines and fluids of course!
These type of videos are excellent and once again reminds people that Horsepower isn't everything. I could listen to Oleg and Misha talk about upgrades for hours. Maybe next video about some Euro Hatchback?
I absolutely loved this episode, I have two 2004 Subaru Forester XT's with STI upgrades, and just recently installed a KEIN Fabrication (a company located in the Russian Federation) Rear Strut Tower V-Brace (I think its more an X Brace) which is very similar to the Cusco type OS V-Brace you show, and WOW did that make the biggest difference in the way the car handles. My other Forester has coilover, swaybars, and tires, but the V-Brace made the absolute biggest difference even on a nearly stock suspension (this car only has subframe lockdown bolts, rear sway bar, front sti control arm bar, KEIN Fab V-Brace, KEIN Diff Brace, and KEIN Trunk Brace. It wasn't easy to bend my car back into shape after 16.5 Years of twisting and bending itself out of shape, but my Wife and I managed!
I thought I knew nearly everything about Subaru's and tracking a car, but I learnt a lot more about the weakness of Subaru and tracking in general. This can be applied to other older cars. Thank you for this awesome treasure of information!
45:26 That controller has had a conformal coating bath. They definitely over did a bit there. Otherwise another very informative video and to the point where I genuinely hadn't noticed It was almost 50 minutes long. Great Job Guys!
Supercool video M & O. I remember when the first gen Impreza was for sale. It was only 50K guilders/gulden (about 24K Euros) for a street legal rally car. Damn amazing back then!
Another top quality bit of Carmrade UA-cam content! My favourite vlogs of yours are always the in depth ones with mechanics and components or talking with Robert etc. Thanks Misha 👍😎
This was great, really informative. Good to see the recommended order in which you should upgrade the parts too. An Evo vid like this would be amazing!!
I had the same problem on my lancer before I changed the engine mounts, it's an automatic sadly but still during acceleration and turning it would take a long time to shift, and it was that bad that if you'd concentrate you could feel the engine moving. Inexpensive repair that saves lots of money later on.
Late to this video but I wanted to comment and share how much this is helping me (and many others) in building subarus. I'm doing a mini bugeye restoration and plan to do some track events, thank you for all the amazing information. It's hard to find up to date info on subaru tracking.
Thank you Misha and Atomic shop! Now I'm aware that NOT to buy the Impreza that I wan't so bad. Everyone is telling me it's a problem car, you will not find in good condition and etc. With so much things to do, even most of these are essentials for road use, better have something new and modern than this "exotic JDM". Thank you for the great content.
and I think Olek (I dont know if I got his name correct, sorry about it), continue to film that series along with you, his english is gonna improve alot within no time.
another Australian company, GFB (Go Fast Bits) design make their own blow off valves and many other turbo system goodies. Also Haltech, they make fully programmable engine management units, harnesses, extra I.O. ports and digital dash clusters that are beginning to get market world wide because of how good they are.
I had a few and loved tracking them, for me my favorite mod was a quicker steering rack, standard steering just turns in a bit slow. And sorry, but loved the pssssshhhht ❤️😂
30:40 this plate does not prevent oil from going left and right. It "scrapes" off the cloud of oil that develops around crank shaft. The baffles { the special little walls} that are built inside the killer b oil pan do prevent oil from sloshing side to side. IAG came out with the best wet sump oil kit in 2021 for Subaru.
Great vid Misha ! Love the scoobys ! Nearly bought the RB320 many years ago but ended up with a B5 RS4 ! Still regret that sometimes especially when something breaks and costs so much ! RS tax !
I like these kind of tech videos. Would also be cool if you build something new like back in the day with the Scooby. You and Oleg should build the Russian Rocket :W Hopefully I can stop by this year with one of my current projects!
Interesting video but RaR have 6 pot brakes from factory...agree with bushings and the rear brace upgrades... otherwise the RaR is trackable from fractory ?
dayum, watching this in depth Impreza mods could make me that "purist" that you mentioned in the previous video... know everything what to do to improve an sti but never gonna own/buy it (just a keyboard warrior)... =D LOL. Great informative video BTW.
Hi Misha, So usefull vidéo, i'm from France and i would very pleased before coming to the ring to have a vidéo like this one for HONDA TYPE R FK2 / FK8. Thanks a lot, Cheers, Richard
You can change the plugs In 45 minutes when you do it all the time, there's a few tricks and it's a prick of a job but when you know the average person can do it in not much over an hour 👍
Misha! How can you make a Volkswagen Transporter/Caravelle track ready? Great to mod å transporter/Caravelle for å trip and also bring it to Apex and Nürburg
ive been looking for smthn like this.. I want to mod my 2012 wrx but focus more on the handling before i worry about hp increases and u guys def know what you're talking about
Hey Misha, what a great video! I would appreciate movie like this connected to bmw 1er (e82/e87) or 3er (e90,e92) chassis. Also maybe separate episode for suspension components, coliovers, antirollbars, polybushes, etc... Thanks :)
The RA-R black edition? They all have black seats, not much to upgrade on that car, it already performes amazingly! That RA-R could be the one that was in Russia.

Cool to see how passionately 2 originally non-English Russians explain important changes for track use of your "normal" street car!
As a subaru owner i could not be more happy to see this, i already have big part of essential mods on my car but i can say a fact about brakes: Front sumitomo 4 pot calipers are used on early r32 gtr, 300zx tt and s14 silvia, all of this cars are heavier than imprezas so the size of the brakes are not the problem, the problem is their construction material, iron and the pots gets rusted and blocked in the caliper with time and you end having only 2 or less pots working. you must be an idiot !
These type of videos are excellent and once again reminds people that Horsepower isn't everything.

this is probably the most informative mid video. pisses me off seeing all the ricey vloggers who dont know what they r doing on youtube. thank you.

Thanks Misha and Oleg. Very Interesting!!!
It's 03:38 New York time and somehow I'm awake to catch this upload!
Supercool video M & O. I remember when the first gen Impreza was for sale. It was only 50K guilders/gulden (about 24K Euros) for a street legal rally car. Damn amazing back then!
That's the best looking RA-R I've ever seen. Wing looks perfect on it.
Another top quality bit of Carmrade UA-cam content! My favourite vlogs of yours are always the in depth ones with mechanics and components or talking with Robert etc. Thanks Misha 👍😎
Oh and thanks Oleg too of course 👍
Oleg man of honor
Great video as always! An episode on evos would be sick!😍

Thsee videos are some of the best car material I’ve seen on UA-cam. Specifically if you’re interested in track driving!
Love it.. do one on the 991 GT3 RS , oh wait it does not need anything :) Keep it up Misha!
I was waiting for this video:).Big Thanks Micha from a sti owner!!

We're not getting some nurb action, but those infomartive videos has to be on the same level. Great job both of you 👍
and I think Olek (I dont know if I got his name correct, sorry about it), continue to film that series along with you, his english is gonna improve alot within no time.
Weer een mooie aflevering in deze serie. Je hebt al wat auto's om mee te werken, maar een Mazda MX5 hoort ook wel in deze serie thuis.
another Australian company, GFB (Go Fast Bits) design make their own blow off valves and many other turbo system goodies. Also Haltech, they make fully programmable engine management units, harnesses, extra I.O. ports and digital dash clusters that are beginning to get market world wide because of how good they are.
And whatever u do with your engine, if want to do it right get your enginework done by subi performance.
I had a few and loved tracking them, for me my favorite mod was a quicker steering rack, standard steering just turns in a bit slow. And sorry, but loved the pssssshhhht ❤️😂
Good morning Misha and Olek
So much great information 👍

This is like the most informative UA-cam video on this topic good job
Thanks for this Misha! Awesome info!
I was just about to go to bed in Alaska. Damn you, Misha.
Wow! Very interesting details! I didn’t know before that I want to know them! Nice conversation between the both of you 👍
A video for an M135i 😌 would be really nice.
Thank you for the video
Edit: I have no Impreza but I learned a lot in this video.
Great vid Misha ! Love the scoobys ! Nearly bought the RB320 many years ago but ended up with a B5 RS4 ! Still regret that sometimes especially when something breaks and costs so much ! RS tax !
Good morning, too🙋♂️🇸🇪
Good morning mister nice Swede
Awesome guide video Misha!! Keep them coming!
what about e36 and e46
Vote for this kind video about E46 with M5*B25 or 30
Loving these videos Misha!
Hello Misha, Hello Carmrades. Very good introduction...
Thanks guys, That was fun and informative. Looking forward to more.
Nice vlog Misha 👍
not just for safety but you will gain more time with better braking than upping your BHP when driving point to point or on a twisty track
Cool vid! I would add one more thing: Replace the rubber hose for the clutch slave also! Had them fail two times in different GC8s.
Do a BMW non-M next time around, cheap and fun. Loved the video, keep them up !
Yeees. Thanks for this ✌🏾
Superb information, keep explaining
Thank you for sharing your knowledge guys! Even the apparent horserider / lettuce problems over there...
Dig it! My Subaru Forester thanks you!
I like these kind of tech videos. Would also be cool if you build something new like back in the day with the Scooby. You and Oleg should build the Russian Rocket :W

As an owner of an 07 limited hybrid I approve. ;)

Fantastic content thank you so much please give us more 👌
Love these videos!
EPIC video
Hi Misha, So usefull vidéo, i'm from France and i would very pleased before coming to the ring to have a vidéo like this one for HONDA TYPE R FK2 / FK8. Thanks a lot, Cheers, Richard
Beautiful cars , Beautiful vlog Thanks Misha, Subaru 😎🏎😎
Please do one of these videos for BMW 335i N54
Thank you for this, great video.
Please do one of these vids on your brand new cayman gts. Would love to know how much or little needs doing to a brand new Porsche sports car!
So in short what you're saying is: If you want to track your WRX, just by a STI instead!
It certainly couldn’t hurt, and honestly would probably save you money in the long run re: transmission, brakes, etc.
e9x bmw video like this would be awesome!
I'm trawling UA-cam for gc8 content and this is a cool find
hallo, Misha i loved this type of vídeo, cover next car some audi's ( rs3, r8 , rs4 ,s3,s4 ) !!!
A video for the BMW E90? please
Subaru all the way!
Keep em coming 😀
You can change the plugs In 45 minutes when you do it all the time, there's a few tricks and it's a prick of a job but when you know the average person can do it in not much over an hour 👍
Great video! Do the Megane next ;-)
I’m so mad at UA-cam, it randomly hides your content and I forget to watch it....
I am pretty mad too. Last 3 videos have been a disaster in views.
Misha Charoudin hope it gets better!
@@mgcharoudin Ah! That's why! Sh_t.
Have you clicked on the bell notification?
@@MrE30 As far I'm concerned, yes, but we are a minority.
Isn't the 6 speed manual transmission made by Aisin?
Bmw e30...That would be easy, but i would like to hear some ideas
Misha! How can you make a Volkswagen Transporter/Caravelle track ready? Great to mod å transporter/Caravelle for å trip and also bring it to Apex and Nürburg
Very good video. Knowledgeable man
Absolutely amazing educational content! I learnt a lot, thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience!!
Would be cool to see a video like this for an imola red 325...
ive been looking for smthn like this.. I want to mod my 2012 wrx but focus more on the handling before i worry about hp increases and u guys def know what you're talking about
Здесь должна быть шутка про 4й цилиндр.
-Тук-тук.
А вот и он.
только в России это смешно
Hey Misha, what a great video! I would appreciate movie like this connected to bmw 1er (e82/e87) or 3er (e90,e92) chassis. Also maybe separate episode for suspension components, coliovers, antirollbars, polybushes, etc... Thanks :)
Good video
Good comment
What about oil catch can or air-oil separator?
Bill Peralta catch can is needed if you have forged pistons
Would love to see some vw and bmw track spec
Any thoughts on an Air/Oil Separator on the EJ??
The RA-R black edition? They all have black seats, not much to upgrade on that car, it already performes amazingly! That RA-R could be the one that was in Russia.
Renault Sport Megane / Clio next ?
Nice video
Great vid sounds like I should have bought a STI not a WRX lol. Thanks for the info and entertainment.
Please do EVO 7-9 review
What about an air oil separator? Because the stock pcv system is not that good.
29:32 that's a windage tray not sump baffle it will do nothing to keep oil around the pickup
Top video 👍
