Ordered some 02 spcers, hoping that helps Any tips or help would mean a lot as I dont currently have another $1000 to spend on a new j pipe. lol im stage 2 e-tuned with and Big SF intake, GS 3port, GS Turbo Inlet/ catted DP, an Invidia r400. and i cannot seem to get rid of this cel( usually 420's are fun.... It turns out that this pipe is better overall and I found a superior tuner...but ouch$$$ Try the sensor without the spacer if you can. That'll save you a little cable management hassle.
@mr.cliffsworkshop yeah man it's becoming a pain.... I just wish these guys would tune it, but they pushing the ETS DP on me... so hopefully the spacer helps
It's best to get a custom tune. I'm getting the same fuel efficiency, best stabity, and best power combination with a reputable custom e-tune. An off the shelf tune will miss the mark somewhere could cause long-term issues.
It wasn’t the clearest in the video as I skipped around but what did you do with the j pipe ground strap. Did you put it on the engine block or on the 02 sensor?
I pinched between an O2 sensor spacer and the pipe. #extremeturbosystems recommends extending it and attaching it to a mounting point if used. They found that it did not affect function or performance of the system, so they did not include a grounding log.
@@MrCliffWorks Since the Mishimoto doesn't have the Gesi cat and will throw codes, I have to go with either the GS v2 or the ETS like you have. The GS is out of stock and their support says its unavailable with no eta on back in stock. I am thinking i will just go with the ETS one. My question is, do i "need" that extra 90 degree adapter for that second o2 sensor after the cat? Also since there isn't appear to be a grounding strap mount on the pipe, where do you ground the stock strap at?
You don't need any adapters. I plan on removing mine at some point. I clamped the ground with the O2 sensor. It's a great pipe, but they do need a grounding lug. If I come up with a better grounding solution, I'll do a flow up video...probably due for a follow up on how things are going anyway. I haven't had any issues or leaks with this pipe. ETS knows what they're doing. I had trouble funding a GS v2 also. I would trust theirs too.
@@MrCliffWorks in regards to the devil turbo studs, did you use the 2 nut method or a 6 point socket to remove them? 14 mm nuts right? Do you know the thread pitch? 1.25 or 1.5?
@@EC-ht5og Absulutely, use 6 point if you can. I started with 12 point and three of the nuts came off pretty normal. I used a 6 point impact socket on the lower right nut, but that nut had to be cut off. I don't remember the thread pitch. I recommend a GRIMMSPEED gasket and hardware kit. I would replace any studs that loosen, and all nuts. Their gasket is a perfect fit and does not leak. Let me know how it goes.

Do you think this j pipe is more quiet then the others? I’m curious to know because I want to get headers but I don’t want my j pipe to make everything ear piercing
I had a GRIMMSPEED v1 to start. It was loud, but droned enough to be annoying on drives over 39 minutes. I got a lower, better sound when I installed the ETS, but still had a drone at around 1900 - 2100 RPM...just lower frequency and less annoying. My system was able to mellow out when I wrapped the pipe. Perfect now. Every system will resonate at a different frequency, so you might have to do some experimenting.
I watched this video like 3 times today. My wrx is throwing the same code P0420. Some have told me the spacer works 50/50 and the same with the GESI cats. Have you had any issues since you installed this j pipe?
I've had others say they're getting codes from GESI-catted pipes from other brands too. I haven't had a single issue with this pipe. I have a conpliant COBB etune from a reputable tuner also. I would recommend this ETS model for sure. I know it's a big-$ item, but I'm happy so far. I have about 14 months of driving so far. I have a spacer only to clamp the ground strap.
So got the ETS GESI downpipe on the car which took care of the P0420 code. But now I have a P0137 and a P0140 code which is related to the rear O2 sensor. I may have a break in the wire or connection. I didn't use the spacer on the O2 sensor yet. I'm thinking I'll check the harness and put in a new sensor.
No CEL's! This pipe and catalyst are giving me the flow and sensor functionality I needed. With all my mods, MPG is within 1 MPG city of stock, with similar driving. Highway MPG is about 2-3 lower with a lot of passing.
