Feedback: The worst part about airbrushing is clean up. With the new 2024 evolution my clean up takes less then half the time to clean up then my other airbrush, you all did an amazing job with the airbrush. The only way I know of that could be easier is to get my wife to clean it lol. As far as cup size 90% of the time I use the micro cup. I have better visibility with it and again easier to clean and see it is clean. Personally I do not ever see myself using the large cup and the mid size I use very seldom. I look forward to getting the new infinity. When it becomes available and I will definitely be purchasing one. Keep up the great innovations and videos

I'm always so impressed with the cleanup on my 2024 Evo. I still start the cleaning process going "great... time for this chore again" and then end up going "wait... it's clean already?!" I love that brush so much.

As a 35 year Iwata user, I FINALLY purchased my very first H&S recently, a gorgeous Infinity CRplus Chameleon. The moment i opened the lid on the box i thought i should kick myself for waiting so long to get an H&S . . .After first use I instantly became a Harder & Steenbeck fan. Just a phenomenal all around airbrush. I am getting another Infinity Chameleon, fully customized for me, and am eagerly awaiting the all new 2024 Infinity which i will definitely order soon as i lay eyes on it. Thank you Warrick for such fun, exciting and informative videos made for airbrushers who appreciate quality and performance. You guys ROCK!! We will be seeing a LOT more Harder & Steenbeck posts in my group, Scale Model Mayhem!!

Hi, Warrick. It is a great and exciting video. I am not an artist, but I use the H&S airbrushes extensively; I have seven of them (2 Evos and 5 Infinity) for plastic airplane modeling. The difficulty we, plastic modelers, face is to spray consistently close to the hard plastic surface without the paint bouncing back on impact because there is zero absorption. That is why I want an instant response to the trigger for total control.
A tight beam is also a must to avoid overspray when painting camouflage. Lastly, I need a handy airbrush for retouching without having to mask extensively.
I love my airbrushes, but it would be fantastic if the new Infinity could improve these areas so I can confidently demonstrate different techniques on my channel. Thank you for showing your passion for your product it is exciting.

I love how you can see your enthusiasm for this on your face and how you've reached out to your users for feedback. Says everything you need to know about H&S and how they conduct themselves in my book.
I bought my first infinity 15 years ago (had to go check my old youtube vids to find that out... I look so young lol) and still have it now. The nice shiny finish has come off where my fingers have been rubbing for over a decade, but she only ever needed a needle replacement once due to me knocking it off my desk. I also have the Infinity CR Plus and Evolution AL Plus which are part of my daily "tool kit". I must admit, if I'm doing something with really tiny details, or at a point in a project where a spit could ruin hours of work, I tend to go for my micron made by that "other" airbrush manufacturer. Simply because of the trigger response. Every infinity I've ever owned (3 now) has had a delay from when you pull the trigger back to when the paint comes out and quite a lot of the time I found myself "priming" it on a bit of paper first, pumping the trigger back and forth by a mm or two just until the paint started flowing. Once I did that all was fine and I could crack on with painting. It doesnt help that I tent to paint with "slightly coloured water" as Giorgio told me once lol. I heavily reduce my paints to get the micro details I like but that often results in spitting and spidering which, I'm afraid to say, I get less of with my micron. You talking about being able to use a thicker paint with the awesome trigger response is really interesting and I look forward to giving that a try!
As far as triggers go, I really haven't had any problems other than a Badger Renegade. The Badger had just a round trigger and my fat fingers had a tendency of slipping off every now and then.
I absolutely LOVE how you're approaching this one as being a detail airbrush rather than an "all rounder". My inner detail freak is jumping for joy right now :)
The 2ml cup is perfect for me personally. It is also the same size as my thumb so I can just put my thumb over the top and give the brush a shake to mix my paints directly in the cup.
When it comes to weight, I never really noticed a difference until I got hold of my Evolution AL Plus. That brush is sooooo light and is a joy to use. The Infinity isn't too heavy by any means, but I can really feel the difference when using my AL Plus.
As someone who paints anything from guitars, canvas, 3d printed figurines right down to little Warhammer figures, I honestly can not wait to get my hands on the 2024 Infinity :)

I have the Giraldez Infinity and love the many improvements on that, the sketch caps help me to aim more accurately and provide a bit more confidence when getting up very close. Definitely the strip down and assembly of the H&S airbrushes have always been a significant plus factor, they are now even better so do appreciate that. What really helps a lot for me is the redesign of the needle chuck nut.

Hi Warwick, can I begin by saying how much I enjoy your videos. Very professional and highly instructive. ALSO, you are not scared to actually pick up a brush and show by example - respect to you. I have an Evo and an Infinity. I love the superb engineering: no tools required to strip, clean and reassemble in minutes. I also like that I can swap needles nozzles and cups between the two - a really well thought out case of good configuration management. If the new Infinity is even better - I am excited at the very thought. Keep up the great work.

As an industrial designer, myself, I love this video. It shows how harder and steenbeck are user centric in their design philosophy and how Warrick talks about the different categories of users and their different needs (and how to address those needs) shows clearly how well H&S knows what theyre designing and exactly who theyre designing for - very inspirational.
In reaponse to a couple of the questions in the video -
I own 2 of the Evolution 2024's. They are very easy to clean and the new chucking nut design also makes removing and keeping track of the nut much easier.
Cup sizes - i tend to paint with a micro cup on minis (but honestly feels too small), the 2mm cup is great for the typical paint volume I use on intermediate stuff, but i think i kind of like the 5ml cup quite a bit because i can put a paper towel around my finger and wipe out the inside easily without resorting to using a bunch of q-tips.
As for triggers, the new Evo2024 trigger is just great! The only other trigger i enjoy for its responsiveness is my Iwata CM-SB wedge trigger. Its just rediculously comfortable even though it seems "simple" in shape.
Lastly, for finishes, one of my evos is a squidmar and i actually get a little nervous using it because im concerned ill start wearing off the cool graphic faster, so i think the triple chrome finish actually gives me more peace of mind.
Cant wait to try out the Infinity 2024!

Too much of a tease. Warwick…..EPIC TEASE! Ok, all joking aside. As a photographer, I always advise that what you have now, in terms of camera, is all you need. It is what you do with the camera that counts. Turning vision into reality. Having said that, I did ditch my cheap airbrush for the Infinity and as I mentioned in a previous post, I could have gone from the Ultra, then the Evolution and finally the Infinity as my skills grew. But decided to go straight for the Infinity CR Plus because it has learning built into it. Why Harder and Steenbeck? First off, Iwata, Badger etc, doesn’t have a Warwick! Don’t blush, it’s true! The other factor is just how easy H&S airbrushes are to strip down, clean and reassemble and as precision instruments, unrivalled . As a photographer, I understand the benefits of workflow. Now, here’s the thing. My cameras have future proofing built in, in terms of firmware updates. With that in mind and reluctant to trade up to the latest and greatest, will there be upgrade parts for the current Infinity Cr Plus community?
I cannot wait for the final unveiling of the Infinity 2024. Coming from an engineering background, I adore all things mechanical.
    Keep up the good work
    Paul.

You ARE a tease! As an owner of the current Infinity I’m so looking forward to the new one with the improvements from the ultra and evolution. It’s been a great detail brush.
When it comes to cup sizes, I use the 2ml exclusively. It’s what fits my work the best. I rather add some more paint then try to pour it back.
I also got a cheaper brush that I use for priming, varnish and other less detail. It weighs significantly more than the infinity and I prefer the lesser weight in my hand while painting.

  • @stefanoscaccianoce2812
    @stefanoscaccianoce2812 3 місяці тому +2

Hi guys, I’ve always used your brushes and now I’m using the Evolution 2024 and the only thing I would improve is to decrease the resistance on the air valve (I get a little tired after a long use). For the Infinity I would prefer a trigger with a wider support (I found those of the Mobius style CM Iwata very comfortable for me to be clear) but no longer that of the Giraldez that I replaced with that of the new Evolution. I prefer the light weight while for the cups the current measurements are excellent for the use of a precision brush. One thing that can be interesting would be the ability to adjust the tension of the trigger for both air emission and needle adjustment. Obviously I can’t wait to have one in my hands THANK YOU

As a scale model builder who currently uses a Badger, I was looking forward to upgrading to a much nicer brush. I was looking at the infinity. Some people do not want just an extreme detail brush where everything comes down in a narrow cone. When laying down base coats I need to be able to lay down a nice even flow of paint across a descent area quickly. Hopefully the 0.4mm version isn't completely extreme detail oriented.

  • @alexandrecosta4579

I have a Giraldez infinity, and what made me choose it was the newer inner system, the trigger stability and being able to be closer to the models. It’s simply an amazing brush and a great improvement from my previous Ultras. The Ultras were lovely to work with as long as I had the infinity nozzle inserted.

    Hi Warrick,
great Video, as always and a lot of questions.
I’ll try to make is as short as possible.
I am usually airbrushing portraits in b/w and colorized as well, sometimes in a very small size.
After the Evo came out, I am only using this airbrush at all, putting all others, including the highly praised Iwatas away.
In my eyes you did a phantastic job so far!
    To your questions:
    1. Thicker paint, same point of releasing. That would be a great progress, I had this problem last week in a mini-portrait and my outcome was, let’s say in need of approvement.
    So, definitely YES!
    2. The best trigger I used before the Evo was from the Iwata Takumi, but now it is the Evo’s. The design is great and in my eyes, there is no need to make a big change.
    3. Shorter distance between airbrush/trigger finger to the surface is always good, especially with small pieces of art work, but I find the distance absolutely satisfying with the Evo.
    4. Detailed work from a bigger distance would be absolutely a big breakthrough because it helps you to stay relaxed and you could cover also longer painting times instead of hanging over the piece all the time and stiffen up very quickly.
    5.
Sketching caps, I never used them with my older Giraldez-Infinity, so I don’t really have an attitude towards them, only that I like to have a free view on the needle of the airbrush (crown cap always off).
    6. Cleaning up time is MUCH quicker than in any other airbrush I used before, including the older models from your company. Very well done!
    7. Cup sizes. I only use the 2ml cup for my work and this is more than sufficient. It is good to have the 5ml option in case it’s a bigger artwork (background). I personally don’t need a smaller cup than 2ml, but some people could argue with a smaller cup you would have a better view on the subject. That might justify a smaller cup size.
    8. Weight. Not the biggest point for me, I find the weight of the Evo perfect and personally don’t feel getting disturbed by the weight too much.
    9. The big secret. I don’t have a clue and I am really excited to see what it is, perhaps a more direct view line between the needle and the point of impact of the color on the surface?
Whatever, I hope this helps you a little with your great work.

Hi Warwick. Great that you're asking actual users. Really appreciate that. I moved from an old style Ultra to the current Infinity a couple of years ago. Somehow I always preferred the paint response of my old Ultra. No idea why but maybe it was the trigger response or spring weight. I also found the trigger shape worked better for me. I do love my Infinity though for its ability to go super fine - it's great for the plastic modelling I do. Freehand camouflage is possible with no masking if im careful. The overall weight of the Infinity is spot in for me too. I find the micro cup really useful for small tasks so please keep compatibility for that although I mostly use the 2ml cup. I also find the trigger limiter great for letting my kids paint as they just blaze away with no finesse at all so please keep that. Ultimately for me I'd want one airbrush that is super easy to clean and to do everything extremely well - from priming larger surfaces with thicker paints through to ultra detail with limited feather at the edges and great instant control but good paint density (maybe I should get an Evo?). I would maybe suggest a few kit options - base models with single needles, a twin needle 'fine' option with micro cup and 2ml cup with finer needles, and finally a 'general purpose' twin needle option having the 2ml and 5ml cups with mid sized needles. Looking forward to needing to make a decision later in the year...

    A) thank you for all this amazing work on these superb tools you’re creating.
    B) my first airbrush is the Giraldez Infinity, because I want to learn on the best tool I can get. However, I’d think that a 5ml cup for that particular airbrush would be a godsend, because it would allow me to prime / base coat / varnish my miniatures en bulk much easier and faster, or work on a big bust with more ease of use than the smaller 2ml cup.
I could go on and on about all the details but maybe in the future. For now, thank you so much for all these videos. We really appreciate the hard work and attention you give to the community.

Now I'm super torn with upgrading from my Ultra 2024 to an Evolution or waiting for this new Infinity! I hope you see this comment and can reply. I am a professional photographer, so while a different medium, my understanding of light and composition as an artist along with all the tools the Ultra 2024 helped me with getting my bearings, I'm ready for an open head, lighter feel to weight and a more responsive trigger. I painted my whole army in a week before LVO (having only ever completed one model before), ended up getting best in faction and going 5-1 with one of the worst ranked armies being deathwatch haha. The best painters on my team who do commission work were astounded at it and that I was doing things it take years for painters to start doing. A lot of that could be attributed to my profession, but for me, it was the Ultra 2024 that made it all possible. That was in January and I've already started doing multiple commissions to paint other armies and models. All this to say, I wouldn't be here without you all. Wouldn't have had a painted army in time to compete at LVO, wouldn't be making money with commission work. I could go on, but nuance makes the artist and this new infinity feels like its all about that. My big question is, am I too ambitious to jump from the ultra to the infinity, skipping the evolution? Personal I can't wait for the new 2024 model! I am painting small things around 4*2mm so since the trigger is a little finicky I have to start my spray on my glove or paper. So this is a straight sale for me. I hope you will bring the micro cup to it, since I'm using 2-4drops of paint at a time this is really convenient. And the normal one is great for priming and larger things.
I'm excited for this release! 😎🥳

I've found the Iwata micron trigger shape to be the best because it allows my finger to naturally and easily roll the trigger as it gets pulled back.
Another thing I like about some other manufacturers is the the wide but not tall paint cup. The thin part of the paint delivery (where the threads are on the airbrush) is something I don't like for some reason.
Would love a fixed sotar cup on a H&S.
I don't have a 24 model yet but will getting the infinity.

I'm minis painter so I change a paint a lot, and I also often use very little of paint with my detail brush. I like even smaller cups like 1,5ml cup on Iwata but internal desing of shaft under cup is more important too for my mixing paints inside cup than actual size of it. Also easy of cleaning between changing paints is good thing.

I've tried twice to get a working on brush pressure regulator assembly. They both made the trigger feel extremely gummy. The first one didn't work at all. I had to send it back to the (authorized) merchant and the replacement they sent had the same gummy trigger but actually worked... until the second time I tried to use it. So what I want out of the new infinity is a built in pressure adjustment on the brush itself and that actually works.

Warwick you tease. As a Evo 2024 and infinity cr plus owner with big hands I enjoy the new Evo trigger but I'd love a bit more chonk so I can operate from the side, it would also be great if the new infinity came with a micro cup in the box apart from that I feel infinity cr plus is god tier, I started with it with no experience and now I feel I can pick up a cheap nasty airbrush and get the best out of it because I can feel where it's lacking and how I need to adjust my working . As always keep up the good work , it speaks volumes that the man at the top actually cares about and uses his own product.

Feedback on sketch cap, I normally dont use a protective cap mainly for ease of cleaning tip dry, if the sketch cap can provide protection and allow cleaning with just my fingers then I would use it.
Feedback on cup size, IMO if the brush is intended as mainly a detailed airbrush, the micro cup would be a welcome addition. Personally I only use a few drops of paint at a time and have no need for the larger cups.

Can’t wait to buy the new infinity I will be in line early can’t wait. That distance factor is why the Iwata CM’s are so invaluable. I can be back a little bit further back from my models but still get paint where I want it. I like the cup sizes you offer. A shorter airbrush is always welcome. With pencil sketching there is time to hold it loose and free and times to choke up and do some precise detail. But if an airbrush is long, we are stuck working with what we have. When painting with a traditional brush sometimes I use my pinky as a brace. Would love to have that capability in an airbrush rather than bracing on my support hand. I cant wait for the Infinity 2024. Love the energy, forethought and detail going into it... TAKEMYMONEY!

Hey guys. As an owner of the standard Infinity CR Plus and a Giraldez, I much preferred the ergonomics of the standard Infinity. It also made me realise I can't use anything less than the 5ml cup because of the larger scale model work I do.
I love the control of the 2-pronged spray heads but I have damaged 2 needles just from carelessly docking my brush in its holder.
My only wish would be for the new Infinity, or even the older ones, to have the option of a switch out head that protects the needle more (much like that of the Ultra)

I’ll try to answer everything I remember from the video (first and foremost I appreciate you asking the end users, not enough companies do this imo as application varies wildly from professionals). My first H&S was the Giraldez Infinity. I’ve since added both Squidmar Airbrushes and two of the Ukraine Airbrushes and the Cult of Paint one. I use them all and I find myself finding different things better on each one. I LOVE the sketching caps, especially when it comes for gradients, I find it helps me immensely keep on point versus the naked eye (I tend to paint 1/12 scale items as opposed to minis though I do some of the latter as well, so my applications might be different). The trigger I prefer the squidmar one and I love the ultra adjustment dial compared to the others. The Ukraine ones I really enjoy the finish in my hand more so than any of the others. For cup sizes I like both current sizes just fine, though I would like a mid between them for some broader base coating applications without it being too much. And cleaning, anything that makes that quicker or less arduous is always a win. I find my Giraldez is the easiest to clean in between and during use. I am excited to see the upcoming one!

id love to see some replaceable triggers - I love the feel of the new evolution trigger. I also like the larger square shape seen on the Gaahleri Mobius, as well as the tall triggers on the badgers. I'd love some options to buy different triggers to swap in and out in terms of tops / lengths

From a comfort standpoint, I have always found the trigger top of the custom micron to be the best of any airbrush. As for cup sizes, I use the micro cup as it does not interfere with line of sight. That being said, If the new infinity was available as a suction feed, side feed and the Grafo T1 body style, I would buy them all. An infinity airbrush in all 4 body styles in a big box set would be pretty sweet. I would buy it right now if such a thing existed.

Intriguing! I think the Infinity may be beyond my current ability, but being a recent convert to H&S in the shape of the new Evolution I would say your strengths are:
    Ease of cleaning
    Responsiveness of trigger
Being able to dial in the trigger travel (when needed)
    Light weight
    Trigger grip, suits my paws!
I have never used the 5ml cup, preferring the 2ml and micro cup, but that is because those are more suited to the models I have been painting. There are a couple of larger ones lurking in the stash that might need the 5ml.
Great video, but a real teaser…

My dream brush would be a mix of the AG and Black Kiev brushes. I use them both and love the design of the AG (Sorry Angel, not the trigger top) and the weight of the Kiev. I don't think I've ever used the 5ml cup on any of my Infinity's so would be happy with a smaller cup. Sketching caps work for me. Looking forward to a magic no tip dry cap 🤣. Love everything I'm hearing here! Can't wait to see how H&S has succeeded in defying the laws of physics to meet all these goals :)
The only specific feedback I have beyond that relates to the question on paint cup size. I think a midpoint between the micro-cup and the 2ml cup would be a goldilocks paint cup size for me. Not sure if that would be 1ml or 0.5ml or what. But I'm often finding that 2ml is a bit bigger than I need for miniature painting detail, while the micro cup doesn't provide enough of a security blanket with regards to preventing spillage.

Gah! This is so tempting, though I’ve already got the old and Squidmar Ultras, plus the Giraldez and Kyiv Infinities! Trying to rationalise my use-case for each one: so far, the main advantage is no need to change needles and heads, as well as the sheer pleasure of the different brushes! You explained the distinctions between the three brushes so well, whereas before it was never entirely clear why a user should progress from Ultra through Evolution to Infinity: to me, it felt like the Ultra’s a great basic tool and the Infinity strong for detail, but the Evol fell between two stools. Now, with the narrative focused on user development, it makes a lot more sense!

I fairly new to this I got the evo 2024 B+G Squidmar and its really great. I clean it during painting usually with just water i get a spray bottle, spray into the cup and tip out, i don't get clogs or anything like that, just leave a bit of distilled water in it or give it a proper clean if i'm stopping for more than a day. Tbh its just slick and easy to use. I think I'd maybe like it a little lighter, i do get some fatigue, but I am also new so, there is that. Maybe i am not holding it properly yet or maybe i just need to develop a bit more muscle, its might little finger and one next to it that seem to cramp so if the inifinty is lighter probably bit easier to hold for a long time. I just use the 5ml cup, I just practice so i fly through paint, maybe i'll try the 2ml cup again when i start doing some pieces that are small. I've started making quite a lot of progress now on the evo after having it a couple of months, not really sure what I'd change, the infinity I'll defo get so i can have a couple of colours on the go at one time, i really like the sound of this new brush being able to do detail from a little further away to keep that motion sounds perfect quite honestly. Look forward to it. Also the trigger is great, at first i thought it had a bit of a corner i didn't feel comfy on but now, i don't notice the trigger, its like its just part of the arm.

My tuppence on some of your questions, as a miniature painting.
Cup size, a micro and a 5ml would suit my needs.
Being able to use thicker paint for a "one and done". Yes please.
I like the top of my grafo trigger best. Maybe slightly more domed but still with the ridges.
Shortening the distance between the trigger and the tip, yes please.
Various weight options would be nice. I prefer lighter, personally.
I have a personalised infinity at the moment. If the new one has those same personalisation options, that would be great.

I would like to have the posibillity to have a heavy trigger pull on the Infinity 2024. The reason for it is that I've got more control that way. It fine with me if I've to buy a stiffer spring or whatever is suitable for that in order to get a stiffer trigger on my airbrush as I know that most heigh end airbrush users prefer a featherlight trigger action. My hands and fingers is permanently damaged due to several different injuries over the years so I've problems with featherlight triggers.

  • @chuckhamack

I assume you are referring to a higher trigger for finer paint control and with my other brushes I find this a plus. The finish and reengineering on the new brushes does make clean up easier. But the increase in distance from the bush to target would be very nice indeed. Count me in for the new infinity. No idea what the mystery new change to the infinity will be??

Feedback so far? I have a very love hate relationship with my Ultra 2024, when it is working I couldn't ask for a better airbrush, but I have had a devil of a time keeping it running clean, entirely possible that I simply haven't found the level of thinning, the air pressure, or some other factor that my technique and the brush don't agree on, and I certainly am not going to abandon it yet, it's far and away the best built airbrush I own, but I do have to say that neither my Badgers, nor my Iwata are nearly as fickle. I suppose this could be a design choice, by making it less forgiving I will probably grow as an artist, but it definitely is coming with growing pains. One small complaint is the spacing between the trigger and cup, I have bear paw sized hands (xl glove size) and it isn't a great fit on the ultra.
Cleaning? You guys nailed it, stupidly simple to clean. If I had to give an improve? While the tip makes it easy to get a brush in to clear dried paint, all the little nooks and crannies are a bugger to clean, it'spurely aesthetic though, but I like to take care of my tools.
Cups? More options is more gooder, I typically airbrush for base painting miniatures, and where possible I prefer to use the airbrush over a traditional brush, so being able to grab a tiny cup to do belts/pouches and chachkies of all descriptions while not having to fight with the cup for finger placement is wonderful.

    • @harderairbrush
      @harderairbrush  Місяць тому

Hey John - thanks very much for the feedback... with regard to thinning, a really good rule of thumb for our airbrushes, that we design to, is if you put the blunt end of an airbrush needle into your paint mix, we want the paint to drip off steadily... you want NO elasticity to the drip, you just want to see if drop off steadily with a clean break of the drop each time. This is your max thickness unless you're pursuing texture/ high build. Thinness of course has no limit, just depending on how much transparency you want in the colour. As an example, try using Vallejo Air paints, thinned 1:1 with their thinner...
With regard to the cups - we will shortly be releasing an accessory for the ULTRA 2024 which is a slightly smaller cup which gives a lot of clearance for the Grizzly artists!

Cannot wait for the new Infinity I have the older style Infinity and Evo and I like them all except the trigger. I recently purchased the Squidmire and instantly fell in love with it. It is my go to airbrush now. Like you have said in this video to be able to use thicker paint and do fine detail like that of a micron would be a great game changer.
There is one thing with the 24 that I find a bother is the narrow area at the base of the cup for cleaning. It is a tiny spot to get anything in there to clean with that’s the only thing I find a bother.
Yes as you say a lighter brush, finger closer to the front with the larger finger pad and the new trigger design I’m sold.
With the ability to do a narrow spray pattern real close to the surface and further away is a definite plus. Will the brush come with different size needles as well? That would be an awesome thing so that an even thicker paint would work at a narrow spray pattern as well.
From all that you have mentioned which is a masterpiece will there be a side cup delivery version?
Can’t wait to place an order for the new Infinity!!

    Comments in no particular order:
I have two Infinitys and I love them. Just a few nights ago, I made a comment on Reddit that was well liked - the ease of cleaning of H&S brushes doesn't get talked about enough! So good! And the Infinity 2024 could be better?!?! Take my money!!! (Seriously, ease of cleaning is one of the reasons I reach for my Infinitys first)
I prefer a larger cup. I'll get working on something and get so into the painting that I'll forget about the airbrush and tip paint out of smaller cups.
One of the things I love about my Infinity airbrushes is that with three needle sets I can do a huge amount of different tasks, from .015 detail to .04 bulk coverage, with just one airbrush. It was mentioned that the Infinity 2024 would have a narrowed spray cone... will I still be able to use different sizes for different tasks?
I'm not worried about the weight of the airbrush- I prefer a solid feel with a touch of heft.
I think the Giraldez tip would a great ad on!
And finally... is an update for the Colani coming? It's a beautiful design and I'd love to see an update with some kind of fan tip? Or maybe go back the script on the handle? It doesn't seem like H&S gives it much love... I can't help but notice the Colani name doesn't appear on the H&S backdrop. I do some larger projects (currently have an LPH80-104G) and the Colani might be a nice add on to my airbrush fleet.
    Thank you!

Thanks for taking the time to write back! To your questions:
      1. Yes, you will still be able to fit any head to the new Infinity 2024 - whether it is the new Infinity heads, or the Evolution 2024 heads, or even the Ultra 2024 head.
      2. Colani... The name is NOT on the backdrop - you're right! What an oversight, and thanks for pointing that out! The Colani is a beautiful design and there are some extremely large shoes to fill in order to improve that iconic design. But I'm developing some concepts... To give you a little backdrop, I am aware that with these redesigns, I am standing on the shoulders of those who went before me. And in the case of the Colani, there is a lot of work to do in order to ensure that anything updating that design can do justice to the great Luigi Colani, who was involved with the design of the original...

Not tried the new ultra and evo, but the trigger response was always a bit "random" i used the grommit mod, and it helps a lot, but it makes the feel a bit "moshy".
I also have some experiences with clogging, and my 0.2 needle had a chip in it (i have not heard anyone else with this issue so i must just have been super unlucky).
But i look foreward to see the new one.
i hope you change color tho, so people see the difference. Royal purple or "emrodiered" look like the colab ones would be sexxy as well.

The infinity sounds like it's going to be a magic wand of airbrushes. As for being closer to the medium is great it makes you in more control, as for the weight I don't seem to get much from that, now for the cleaning I have noticed my evolution 2024 is much quicker to clean then any of my other airbrushes but I can't say if it's quicker then the previous evolution because this is my first H&S airbrush. I love idea of being able to spray thicker paint with the infinity because I for some reason I still struggle with that but Rob Dickson explained the way he thins and I'm going to try that now (after I make more coffee) and I can't wait to hear the news about the head system you really have me excited like a kid on Christmas morning and I think it's about the air channels 🤷 well I could ramble on but I gotta go and work on my airbrushing since weekends are really the only time I get to do that because life gets in the way during the week. Have a great day.

Oh was that almost click bait Warrick🤭🤔😲😳🙄😀😀💜
These videos are excellent - great for customers and H&S alike - you've one of my dream jobs Warrick😊👍✌️
Off the top of my head.....
    1) Clean up and ease of use (as per the other two recent releases);
    2) Sort the trigger slack/paint take up issue get that remedied (cured - as with the other two releases, Ultra and Evolution);
    3) As it's to be a detail airbrush, weight is a consideration too - ease of use, for detail work over longish periods, on confined work applications (maybe an alloy version later?).
    4) Cup sizes: I like the flexibility of all sizes, that mentioned? I end up using the smallest two, one of which is the micro (especially for detail work - as with one of my Infinitys).
I hope that helps, you guys seem well up on continuous improvement anyway✌️💜👍😊 Sounds like the perfect detail brush.
The trigger improvements sound spot on - I like H&S triggers anyway, but a larger one (as long as it or finger doesn't affect larger paint cup sizes) would be great (I tend to hook my finger tip over the trigger - I think 🤔). I like a lighter spring (or adjustable) for detail brushes.
I'm a modeller, weathering for an Infinity is my thing, smaller nozzles/needles, better paint coverage on Eg bolt or rivet heads.
My advice? 60% bias towards detail, 40% towards coverage general purpose work - try not to make it like the TSR2 (as much as I love that aeroplane), a jack of all trades is far from ideal - especially as the, Ultra and Evolution now cover off those aspects already.
Sketching Caps are great, I worry when I spray without a cap of sorts, I've not damaged a needle yet, but doing so is only ever an absent minded moment away - Sketching Caps are a great idea.
Oh and standardised interchangeability - I know H&S have that covered already though👍✌️
Anything else from me would merely nitpicking as H&S are subject matter experts 👍✌️💜😊
The new heads? Better air and paint mix/atomisation (if that's possible from a H&S as they're superb anyway), better speed/control through multi air venturi/apertures??🤔🤔🤔

I have been doing my researchs about paint an airbrushing for a very long time on a very much isolated mode .I unfortunately had to teach it all to myself .
Ok , now I will probably soon invest in my third Infinity .Then I will most probably do a honest feedback in: French + German + English .No problem .
I will be the happiest man on earth if it is a game changer.
The ideal situation would be if we can regulate the responsiveness of the trigger wether we use a thin or thick paint . This would be a world unique innovation .

At last! Been wondering about what my new Infinity will be like. I'm especially thrilled about the refinement of the trigger action. I'm really excited about this one. I already have the 2024 Ultra and Evolution and they are outstanding airbrushes, if they are any indication the Infinity will be magnificent. The ability to use slightly thicker paint in a detail brush would be great.

@@harderairbrushI absolutely love my chameleon and squevo black. I will be ordering this one too when available. The smaller cups are nice and I truly enjoy the light weight of the chameleon. Makes long sessions enjoyable. Keep moving forward, H&S is crushing it!! Thanks 😎💥

@@harderairbrush For me a 2mm cup and lightest weight would be preferable, this is a precision tool, not likely to be used for priming large objects etc.

This is all very exciting! For my needs, I spray Fiber Reactive Dyes on my turned wood bowls at this time, and it is the consistency of water, although I could thicken it up, but haven't found the need. When I get my skills to the level I am satisfied with, I plan to add paint, especially metallics for accents. For the trigger, I consider myself still a beginner, having used a gun style bottom trigger when I started, but am working on learning to effectively use a top trigger on my Ultra 2024. Light weight is always good to avoid fatigue. For cup sizes, I rarely need anything larger than a 5ml cup, but would like the option of a larger size for my larger bowls. I could effectively use a 2ml cup. 10-12ml would work in this situation. The real question is when do you anticipate the Infinity 2024 CRplus to be available?

Totally new to airbrushing and not an engineer at all, but the first thing that came to my mind when I picked up the airbrush in my hand was like, “Why the hell is my hand so far from the painting surface?” Why is the cup of paint in front of the trigger and why didn’t the engineers swap the positions of the trigger and the cup?” It's probably just a dream :) and I have to adapt to it

The sketch cap would be a nice and also maybe a cup in between the current two. I have several different H&S airbrushes. I like the interchangeably parts too. The good one would be giraldez body with a different trigger and the Kiev weight in my opinion.

I know that red handle is like a signature mark for Infinity, but please consider making it in a single chrome finish. Maybe an optional handle to make a uniform finish all around.

Stop talking and take my money! 😆
I'm very excited about the new Infinity, tbh I don't think I've been this excited since I was a kid.
My twelve year old Infinity is still going strong and still my first choice for most of what I do. I'm a hobby painter, not any kind of 'pro', but having said that the Infinity has grown with me, with a decent selection of new needles and heads.
Currently I'm running a '21 Squidmar Ultra for detail work, with a larger needle in my Infinity for general use. The chance to turn that around with a new, detail focused Infinity has got me giddy with anticipation. I can hardly wait!
On cup size: I've hardly ever used my 5ml cup, the 2ml is fine for everything I do. It's reassuring to have the bigger cup as an option, but it stays in the case these days. In a similar vein, I've never used the micro cup in anger. I bought it, tried it, didn't see any great difference in my accuracy spraying and went back to the 2ml.
On features: I'd really appreciate the new brush's constituent components to be compatible with the current range. H & S modularity is a big draw for me and the main reason I'm reluctant to purchase competitor's brushes, no matter how favorable their reviews might be. I've got a lot of needles and heads, very useful to me for various, slightly different reasons. It's so easy to swap out a few bits and get a completely different feel and performance out of the brush!
Finally, I've no clue what the new feature is. A gunsight? That'd be useful on a detail brush... 😉

I would be happy with only a 2mm cup with my Infinity. In terms of the trigger shape, I'm not a fan of the shape of the Giraldez model but I love the 2024 Evolution trigger.

The only real problem I had with Infinity was a bit random trigger reaction. So - can I retrofit my Infinity with new Infinity trigger mechanism? Or other 2024 trigger?

I am looking forward to the new infinity release, wil there ever be a side feed infinity? With a traditional cup position. I have an aging harder and Steenbeck made focus airbrush which i am hoping the new infinity will be a good brush to replace it. I have not watched many airbrush brand videos but I was thoroughly impressed by your knowledge and customer focused attitude. I will watch some more!

Hi Warrick. I think that reaching out to those artists who will potentially be purchasing the 2024 Infinity, is a great idea and a clever move too.
I am fortunate enough to own the ‘Squidmar’ 2024 Ultra and Evolution and I think they’re both great airbrushes.
After what you’ve said, the new Infinity is an airbrush that I will definitely be adding to my collection. As for improvements, personally I’d just like to see a smaller cup size, but other than that, I’ll leave the suggestions to the ‘real’ artists amongst us.

This will be curious. My impression was always, that a higher responsiveness with thicker paints comes with an increased airspeed at the tip of the brush. I mean, that basically the point in thinning down your paint, to work with lower pressure closer to the surface in detail. I am not an advanced painter, but this was always my understanding of the physics behind this.

  • @robertmclean8163
    @robertmclean8163 3 місяці тому +2

5ml cups definitely! Even when using a small amount of paint I never use the small one, less swapping of parts. Definitely keen on focusing on keeping the infinity as a detail brush and having that cone as narrow as possible even at a distance. Not sure what I think about a bigger trigger but will have to see, a more comfortable trigger would be welcome as long as it doesn't sacrifice control (which I feel I have with a smaller trigger). As for trigger finish I'd love to see some sort of matte finish or some other kind of finish that offers a bit of grip to it. Everything is sounding great so far, top work!! 🎉

    I really like the Colani liner feeling spring trigger. I have Colani 0.2&0.4 ,Giraldez 0.2, 2 infinity 0.15 & 0.2, 3 Ultra 0.6 0.4 0.2. I do try evolution 2024 & Ultra 2024 in a shop, but Ultra 2024 was really heavy . Best trigger feeling for me Colani > Evolution 2024 > Giraldez > infinity > Ultra > Ultra 2024.
I heard other youtuber said infinity 2024 will come out soon.(more than half year ago). I'm still waiting for getting your perfect answer ❤
