They have to love AP that’s only thing they got or else the JOURNEY won’t exist anymore no one can replace him anymore he’s been there for almost fifteen years. He is the longest lead singer ever to be in the JOURNEY BAND. Tells you something FANS!!
The affection among the band members is very touching and palpable at this video. This also feeds unto the audience, and the positive vibes could be felt all around. A band and its audience fusing as one. No artist could ask for more. Rock on, AP! Rock on , Journey!
It was perfectly amazing, the non stop shouting of the crowds makes me chill... Arnel you are freaking awesome, singing and jumping w/o getting tired... youre the best, love you.
The former vocalists are long gone from the band. Arnel is not trying to replace anyone, Steve Perry or Augeri or sotto. it just so happened that the band needed someone who fits the title as their new member or vocalist . So live with it!
Agree.. Mr arnel pineda use to be my friend his from the band named amo band and I'm from the boss band.. Mr arnel is such a very humble man until now he doesn't change. I agree what you say bro.. This is the best version I've heard of this song with Arnel singing. I have always contended that this is Journey's best song and in fact I can go one further and contend that it isn't even a close contest. I have such fond memories of the vinyl record my dad has emanating the sound of Who's Crying Now from the den of our split level throughout the house I grew up in. It sends chills right down my spine.

Deen blows Arnel off the stage when it comes to singing this song. Arnel's sense of melody, phrasing, ability to focus his tone at low volumes, dynamic range, ability to finesse high notes and overall timbre is just not a good fit for this song and many other marque Journey songs. Deen has these qualities and it shows every time that he takes over lead vocals. He understands that he is not Steve Perry, but he also understands the melodic approach, tone and phrasing necessary to sing SP songs

No you can't. Even if it takes years practicing you can never sound exactly like that person. Either you have the voice or you don't. Arnel's voice is different even if they are both tenors. Both great voice btw. But I prefer Arnel's. 😀
