- G'Day Golden Tubers, here's another instalment in my 2023 Adventure. I have many projects which I'm chasing up, they are the result of my summer's research, I have 5 reams of printed A4 paper, plus a big roll of maps to investigate ... So stick with me over the course of this metal detecting season, I'm on a mission to find, and help YOU find ... Some nice gold! Especially as the gold price was $3080 AUD during the filming of this video ... Wish I had some! Oh, I made reference to what might slither out of those big holes in that dead tree that I'm camping next to, here's a UA-cam clip I've made, this is frightful:

But honestly, in my 40 years of walking around the Western Australia bush, I've only seen on King Brown, and it was only 1 metre long. OK, still deadly but did you see how high that Monster in the video reared up? That thing could easily snag you in the groin! OK! Great way of life 101, first cuppa in the morning is worth gold in itself. The bush has a way of calling you back, and I hope and pray you are well enough after your recent scare to enjoy the bush again

Just getting in and having a crack spending time with good friends is what life is all about and realistically finding some shiny gold is just a bonus to me.

You made quite a haul awhile back I remember! One trick Ive seen is to use a auger and that will dig down fairly easy. a good way to see and sample for river rock down there!
G'Day Thomas, Cheers for your Comment M8. Yes the auger is a great tool ... I use one to check how deep the ground is before I push a patch ... Can be a bit hard on the wrists if you hit some rocks though huh ... Cheers, P101 ...

Ty for you efforts to educate. I have amazing gold on my creek claim but my passion is to locate a pocket. I take to heart all the advise. I’m now trying to put what effort I have remaining into one gultch. Although I have LiDAR and can explore all the ancient ruins lol old miner diggings. Still hard to tell where the nuggets lie. My research talks about 60 ounce nuggets and the minors of the day concieded they came from the lead of this gulch. Only weird thing is no recorded mines above. Gold mines everywhere recorded but not in the gulch. But once I started exploring little dig holes everywhere, and it shows the main owner at the bottom patent claim placer leased a huge swap land up this little gulch. We have forest and steep ground man those minors were men.
Thanks for that GG it’s been a while since I’ve camped out, but I used to love it. Even better when there’s a chance of a big payday on offer. 👍🏻

I was near a tree like that one with the 🕳️ in it , it’s a big tree but and rite near a cattle trough , I was fixing the water when a king brown just poked his head and from under the trough 😂it headed straight for the tree of holes lol 😂 my boss said how come ya got a picture of it but didn’t kill it lol 😂 I said well I’m not taking on king browns with just a weed sprayer and a hand weeding tool lol 😂

G'Day Outback ... Thanks for your insight ... I agree 100%, in fact this last trip I had a chap actually follow me around on his quad, like park next to my truck and start detecting. I left the area quickly as I can only imagine what it would be like to actually find some gold when a chap like that is about. The high gold price has made the Hungry Dogs out of control, can't help themselves I suppose ... Even a large dose of Nuggetcillin doesn't faze them, it's more more more going off in their numbskulls ;-) Cheers M8 ...

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience . The drone would have to be a must in that situation , you could almost see the contours of an Ancient creek from high above , a great asset indeed , just another tool in the arsenal . GREAT STUFF !!!! Cheers Ned . 👍✌✅

G'day mate so your not happy with the little bits huh lol and I find it amazing how with all flat land and no sign of an ancient river you find one without the use of a satellite to scan for one. If you don't want those smaller nuggets you can send them to me bwahahahahahahahaaa I'm sure you will get a chuckle with that lol. Every bit counts at the moment with the price of gold where it's at I 'am sure you will find a patch of bigger nuggets.

Yea well the nuggets tell the story, I've found heaps of ancient creeks like this, in fact I have another video I took this past trip of getting gold on a long-gone riverbed ... It's good when you know the direction of the strike/flow of these old systems, just keep detecting in that direction ... Didn't mean to sound like lil' bits don't matter, of course it all adds up, especially with the gold price sitting above $3000AUD an ounce ... But you do get a feel for a patch/concentration after walking around for a day or two, if it's worth working or not ... It'll be 45 degrees C soon enough, and I'll be stuck in the city, wishing I was Out There ... OK! Cheerio, P101 ...

Any ideas for a gold prospecting tour in Australia!?
How and why do you choose which metal detector to use in a specific area that you are prospecting in P101.
I can't speak for the bloke, but imo what he might’ve meant by that is the gpx6000 is an excellent machine for finding the small pieces of gold (sub gramers), whereas the gpz7000 might miss the smaller pieces, but will find (and is more suited) to targeting larger pieces of gold at a lower depth than the gpx6000.

Oh yea well I hope I didn't come across as smug, of course any gold is good gold, but after you walk around for a few days you really get a feel for a patch, and in this case the Au is very dispersed, it's kinda like "Bigger fish to fry" ... And in this game it's easy to get bogged down ... But I'm the first guy that realises that there could be a 100 ounce hunk in there somewhere and you can't say it's done until it's all carefully chained ... However ... I am on a mission! @@prospecting101 Good Morning PRO101, I left yesterday morning, got to the first claim, all of a sudden a helly went over head and then the RCMP (police) told me the entire province was shut down, not even city parks.
That sucks gravel...lol
Hopefully they get the fires under control soon, its been a very dry winter here.
