My pleasure, Simon ... Glad you appreciate my efforts Mate! I'm happy to maybe make life easier for a prospector or two, the main thing is ... A patch is hard to find, so let's not leave any easy gold behind! You know, the Ole Boys used to leave their gold to chase a new rush, and they'd come back to their find when they were broke, to fill their 'Poverty Pot'. It is mostly very fine gold ... Very fine ! You'd cut out alotta wasted time if you get you a set of classifiers initially classify with a 1/8 inch screen into your pan confirm thru panning if there is ang gold in the deposit if so , figure out the size of the majority of the flakes 100 % of the gold I recover goes right thru a 20 mesh , 98% thru a 50 mesh and 95% thru a 100 mesh classifier you will have alot better recovery of fine gold classifying down before you pan out your sample Most of the rich gold deposits down here around my area are high and dry bench placers , a quarter mile or more away and above the river I usually dont bother with any deposit that gives me less than 2 grams of gold per 5 gal. bucket on average ... There are plenty of them around
@@frankbyrd6726 Wow Are you in the South Eastern Washington? I'm in Orient Washington. I will go and get some more classifiers then if need be. I know I can find gold. That's what I have been looking at are the high benches that are flat on the side of the mountain. I have around 50 spots I have been doing research on up here and can't wait. Thanks so much for your wisdom of Washington gold. It's been difficult to get a answer about the size of gold around here. I even went and bought a Gold Detector. My wife thinks I'm crazy and she doesn't believe that I can find anything! Same with her friends and sometimes it gets frustrating when you go out and don't find anything to show. @@frankbyrd6726 I knew there was! I have been doing a lot of research of all the mining that has been done around here. I have a lot of places to go this spring and summer can't wait!!! I'm a greenhorn chopping at the bit! Thanks for replying!
It is mostly very fine gold ... Very fine !
You'd cut out alotta wasted time if you get you a set of classifiers
initially classify with a 1/8 inch screen into your pan confirm thru panning if there is ang gold in the deposit
if so , figure out the size of the majority of the flakes
100 % of the gold I recover goes right thru a 20 mesh , 98% thru a 50 mesh and 95% thru a 100 mesh classifier
you will have alot better recovery of fine gold classifying down before you pan out your sample
Most of the rich gold deposits down here around my area are high and dry bench placers , a quarter mile or more away and above the river
I usually dont bother with any deposit that gives me less than 2 grams of gold per 5 gal. bucket on average ...
But that's prospecting. If you ever want to go out hit me up if you are around this part of Washington Frank.
I am down by Pomeroy
I have done a little looking around up there and yes , theres gold everywhere up there
I will get back to you
i am just brimming with over confidene.....
'Sup FuzzZ? You coming to OZ this year? You have an itch to scratch M8!

Good to see you back Champ. There is enough valuable information in this video alone for anyone to hit the jackpot.
I have been out this season for nearly 2 weeks,I had a few days of cool then the temperatures shot up again. It’s hard going in this heat but looking forward to winter 😎
G'Day Billy Bob ... WOW! You're starting 2023 early! I saw that gold mine that you found (that ole engine looked kool there) ... Did you get the GPS for the chap? You see any alluvial workings? Cheers M8 ...
@@prospecting101 The early bird catches all the worms 😂
Yes I have coordinates but no alluvial signs as yet.
Awesome Bud !
It may seem primitive to the inexperienced, BUT I see you recreating situations and obstructions like you'd find in nature to collect gold. Very impressive, I love the direction your videos have evolved in.
Thanks 👍PR2, it's always a pleasure to see/read your comments. That trail of gold behind the rocks tells the story huh? That's where to look in a stream, as we all know. Cheers M8, hope you're not frozen ;-)
