Seeing those EC2 and USB clan tags brings back memories. Those clans were so full of hackers that legit members lamented the fact that people immediately assumed they were hackers simply for wearing their clan tags.
7:31 I have a theory for both the normal looking ones and the ones that use super speed: There must be a cheat that sets your time back to zero as you cross the finish line BUT the time between the clock resetting to zero and officially crossing the line takes a few frames, and the clock starts to tick back up. The normal speed ones just use that cheat, while the super speed ones also unlock your top speed to minimize the time between resetting the clock and crossing the line.
for clarity on the ones that don't have hacked items or hacked kart speed or hacked mini turbos. what's happening is they have a cheat that stops the time trials timer when they cross the finish line in general which would include when they cross on go, as the for one's that do have the other hacks they have the same hack listed above as well as a driving early hack but some have a hack that starts the timer for time trials early. some of these hacks still exist in deluxe like the item hack.

Idk how ghosts work in Mario Kart 8, but in other non-Mario games, ghosts are normally controlled by the touched inputs, so if the player literally warped to the goal, the ghost will just stay there for the eternity
I'm curious what happens if you try to race a ghost that has a hacked time, but that's still possible for someone to beat in real time, like that Grumble Volcano one. Edit: Or the Music Park one
I doubt the game has any sort of sanity check for that, it'll probably say you're in first place for the entire time you're physically ahead of the ghost object but then they pull an OoT mailman and say "yeah but i cleared it in 0.00.001 seconds so clearly you finished after me"
I've done it before, if the hacked lap time is 00.001 and you get a lap of, as an example, 39.842, then the game says you are 39.841 seconds behind, even if the ghost hasn't finished a lap yet. Also finishing ahead of a hacked ghost just defaults to the You Lose screen, since the game only checks the finishing times against each other, and not where the ghosts are. It's very..interesting, to say the least.

The cheaters that set their top speed to like a million are shooting themselves in the foot, they pick combos that have bad handling, crash into walls, and fall off the map so much that in actuality it takes them longer to complete a track than the staff ghost.
I think the speed thing is an emulator being sped up and them going in reverse may be how the server interprets them using an emulator reverse feature to rewind the game.

10:41 What a blast from the past. I remember seeing this person & their USB-Clan in MK7 and Wii hack videos.
7 thousand subs already! Wowzers, very proud of you Bean. This is very well deserved! 💖
Thank you Slithered!!
so many of them play so badly that I honestly think they might be going faster without the cheats on (ignoring hacking the timer)
15:28 I think it's the ring boost you get when you go through the rings on dolphin shoals
no its not
@@ccostthen what is it?
Is it the thing that appears when you do a trick? Seems like it might be that
its what happens when you collect a coin after obtaining 10, u can see it starts as soon as the coins fill up@@LennyQUMFIF
Ramboo does seem like a legitimately better driver than all the other cheaters
16:10 He used a cheat to infinitely ramp trick. Since he did that, the graphic for the ramp tricking animation popped up, which is a semi transparent rainbow circle, but it kept popping up since he was infinitely tricking, and it looked like THAT.
Note: it's also the graphic for the coin pick up animation, and the coins go from 0 to 99 the second he starts the cheat, so you might be right about it being an infinite COIN PICKING UP cheat.
The cheaters that set their top speed to like a million are shooting themselves in the foot, they pick combos that have bad handling, crash into walls, and fall off the map so much that in actuality it takes them longer to complete a track than the staff ghost.
Bean is constantly tricking, I'm pretty sure that's what the ring is. I don't have mk8 on my wiiU, god forbid ever modding it.
I think the speed thing is an emulator being sped up and them going in reverse may be how the server interprets them using an emulator reverse feature to rewind the game.
HAHA yeah same thing with Mario Kart Wii, the world leaderboard would be filled with 0:00:04 or something absurd, and when you watch the time trials, they start racing, crash into a wall, and just stop there, and the timer just goes on until infinity lol
This video was so fun to watch keep up the good work!
Thanks man!
I play Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U. I don't have a Nintendo Switch. This is the first Mario Kart 8 (Wii U) video I have ever seen (besides my own). Seeing this made me happy! Thank you for making these videos!
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed
The infinite mini turbo glitch does look fun asl
Remember this from mk8, time flies real quick. Anyway thanks for this awesome content!
Yeah time flies feels like it's only been 0:00.001
That light circle is the beginning of a trick
Thank you for putting out really real and really reliable TT content 😊
I looked at a record of someone a while ago (not sure if it was 8 or 8DX) it was a time of like 45 or 47 seconds for ALL 3 Laps of Mario kart stadium. Even in replay the lap counter was at 1/3 as the race ended for him
It’ll be an interesting day when hacked times start taking over 8 Deluxe, the 1 lap cheat seems pretty popular
@@beanzard64 as long as Nintendo keeps their eyes over the game I doubt this day will come, but who knows…
this makes me wanna see what neat things skilled players could do with cheats, since all these people are just kinda slapping cheats on there and bashing into walls and stuff since theyll just have the time set to whatever number at the end. could be fun for a really skilled player to mess around with some cheats and see what they could pull off
6:16 - He’s not cheating, he’s just playing F-Zero instead
when you open up Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U, only to realize you actually opened up F-Zero: oh no! anyway, *[proceeds to move faster than the speed of light]*
I have heard of, and in fact played, Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U
15:35 I think it's the jump trick thing
I agree with this, this was my first thought
15:23 He was loop-tricking very rare
That Wario was playing 400 CC before it was even a thing.
2:30 is absolutely hilarious. Props
11:27 o ma gawd its me!! let me give you useless information about the run n stuff
it looked legit because cheats on modern mk8 are so unstable that it would crash the game so often, leading me to have just the time trial cheat enabled.
i also played terribly because i wanted to give into the vibe that cheaters can't play games for crap
these runs are more recent than the others too (these runs are 11 months old, as the rest are years older)
16:57 hi again btw
That’s interesting, looking at some of these times I wouldn’t have thought there was any risk to crashing the game by hacking. Thanks for commenting!
it's the dnb guy
(pls don't attack me I left the community months ago)
16:10 at first I thought this was the 'fired out of a cannon' VFX but I think it's just... jumping at the top of a ramp. whatever that's called.
That’s called a trick, and it seems like you’re right. Some other people also thought so.
@@beanzard64 I typed "trick jump" and then looked at the words and thought, no, that can't possibly be the name, it's too dumb and obvious
TIL I am too dumb.
unrelated thought: somehow I never played MK8 apparently? I went back through my game collection and skipped straight from 3DS (MK7) to Switch (MK8D). Is it worth grabbing a copy of MK8 for my WiiU, or is there nothing in it that is different/extra compared to Switch
If you already have a Wii U, it could be fun, high-level gameplay looks surprisingly different from 8 Deluxe. That being said, 8 Deluxe also has everything 8 has, plus more.
the strategies are insane on the mario kart 8 time trial leaderboards i might have to plug in my wii u and compete
That one with the rainbows was infinite tricks
Yooo it hit 1 million views congrats!
Shout outs to good buddy Vinny 3:27!
Awesome video showing what people can do when the game is no longer moderated by Nintendo! Like people just don’t understand the concept of playing a game correctly.
I bet Beanzard cheated a time just for fun 😊
Thanks! And trust me, I haven’t cheated any times… not yet, anyway.
@@beanzard64 Let’s get those minus numbers! You got this! :D
I still remember as a kid, thinking I was pretty good at Mario Kart Wii, checking out the online leaderboards, and being absolutely crushed by the fact that all the top times weren't even playing properly so there was no point even trying to race them!
I remember this happening on Wii. Happened after I just beat a World Record (Obsoleted by super shortcut, then hacks).
That’s too bad ):
What track did you have record on?
Bowser Castle 3 GBA@@beanzard64
16:11 its the little rainbow ring effect you get when you do a speed boost jump thing!
18:42 I can’t get over that 99 coins thing ever since the Mario circuit level
19:18
9:39 that's me on the leaderboard, GS2 Pyro, along with an old friend of mine right below me LOL. I remember doing that yearssssss ago.
I personally have played MK8D for hundreds of hours and can hopefully confirm that the trails at 15:28 are the effects of either the golden mushroom or the normal one, it's either that or the speed boost platforms and ramps
Edit: it is most likely the trick effect
This weirdly reminds me of the original Modern Warfare 3 Survival game mode where you face waves of enemies that overtime gets harder. A guy made it to the trillionth wave in 3 seconds
2:14 I'm xxotiic 😂😂😂
I'm xxotiic on the Wii U MK8 Time trials
The strats of that guy with 1 fraction of a second were fire ngl
16:14 Its a spammed boost star ring non stop
The rings around Luigi is the trick circle’s you get when you trick . Also wanted to point out the map on rainbow road was rainbow instead of blue
17:57 360⁰ NO-SCOPE
15:30 I think that's the effect for getting a speed boost off of a ramp with the right timing
I want to see someone race against the toad harbor one. Seems totally do able.
The white Yoshi is you bean lol
*insert Billy Mitchell meme here*
Wario's playing actual F-Zero in Mario Kart. What a hero.
18:33 this is the trick animation
Honestly MK8U is probably my second favourite Mario Kart game, behind MK7.
Can't believe mk7 doesn't have hacked times... or at least they don't show up for me.
this is what happens when your game has no shortcuts and is also not on the switch
I think that the Luigi on dolphin shoals rings are the animation for tricking
I like how you can tell that these people are awful at the game and require the hack to get to the top so they can feel good about themselves.
At this point, it’s not like there’s any legitimate times anyways, so I can see why people hack for times just to goof around.
Rayman Legends Cheaters be like:
Hi I'm a few of the hacked times lmao my name would be "Fissin" with some symbols or "Supporter" with a greek letter S and a Heart
@beanzard64 the rainbow ring thing you were curious about is just what happens when you do a trick, it's just a hack that make it happen constantly so in result it look like that 15:25
