    Great review. We've rented Bird scooters in town (they use this scooter for their fleet) and I found it to ride very well. I'm a big boy and it didn't really have the power to pull my fat ass up steep hills, but I'm capable of kicking in those rare situations. It's very tempting to pick one of these up.

    I have this scooter. It's not as amazing as all these reviews say it is. A lot of components are prone to wear and tear and you need to constantly maintain it. Especially the lock/swing joint/bearing head location. But then again, I ride this in NYC and the condition of the roadways are usually a laughing matter so that may contribute to the quicker wear and tear on my unit. YMMV.
    Also, there's a "defect" that is notorious with this scooter and that is the locking mechanism which is an easy fix if you do preventative measures when the scooter is new otherwise it will only get worst over time.

    Hey Jesse! Nice review! I was thinking of making this a group present for a friend's birthday and you convinced me! I made my own electric scooter from a Yedoo City scooter (they are awesome) and I always use a helmet when riding in the city. I was wondering if you were doing the same as you said you also ride in the city? If you don't, I strongly suggest you to do so, it saved my life once already! Keep up the good work and see you on Patreon (or when you visit Europe/France with the roadster)!

    I purchased a GOTRAX Glider electric scooter and love it! This Xiaomi scooter seems to get a lot of hype, but I think the GOTRAX model is a bit better in certain areas:
    Its top speed is 17 MPH.
    It's a few pounds lighter.
    The deck height is shorter.
    It takes only 2-3 hours to charge.
    It has an electric thumb-controlled brake and also a manual foot brake on the back tire.
    It costs only $250, though I bought mine for $220 from the manufacturer's website.
    Its LED screen shows battery level and speed.
    It's also foldable.
    It also has an LED headlight.
    The tires are hard rubber. No flats to worry about!
    It comes in three colors. Black, red, and pink.
    No visible wires or brake lines.
    Made in and ships from the US.
    Just thought I'd give a shameless plug for the scooter I got. 🙂

    Cool scoot, nice review. Illegal to ride on public roads or bike lanes in Holland though I think. Also bigger folded than I expected. I have used a Brompton folded bike in the back of my 22kW Zoe for a few years. It folds smaller than that scoot, has suspension, 6 gears, easy to roll behind you and it can get aftermarket electric drive. Very usable as a regular bike as well. It’s the Rolls Royce of folding bikes, huuuge user base worldwide. I need it a lot less now with my 40kW Leaf.

    Yeah,i already knew having owned my M365 for over a year now. Your review was unbiased and fair so well done to you. My biggest bug bear so far with ownership is the punctures iv'e had to deal with, Buyers beware !, also if you are considering using a hard Tyre on the scooter , my advice is Do Not by any means do that, i fitted a hard Tyre, the compound is less grippy and this increases battery wear, also the wheel slips on tarmac. Overall i rate it a 7 out of 10 ,i'm very pleased with it but you will get your hands dirty fixing punctures every now and then.

    This is the problem with many of these types of products when it comes to bumps and potholes and in the real world just as with my URB-E smooth surfaces such as sidewalks and smooth roads are where these types of devices work the best. I will tell you one thing using these types of devices is a great way to get around and great for getting to your destination faster than walking.

      @RonConsumer 6 років тому +4

      True but generally the average person walks at a pace of about 3.1 miles per hour or about 5 km/h. The purpose of these devices is designed for the last several miles from a train station, trolley, or bus. If given the chance to ride something that can move them at a 10 to 12 mph rather than running and get all sweaty. Plus it allows one to maybe get to work a little early and relax a bit from the trip rather than having to hit the books right away.

    Isn't it bad form to leave your Leaf at a charging station for the duration of a concert? Or does it charge that slowly?

    My first one, but now i have the segway ninebot 2.
    Because I needed more distance and have placed the extra battery.
    I must say the xiaomi is a nice ride, never had problems except for a view flat tyres( that is in the past now.).
    Good review.

      Having a hard time choosing the Segway ES2 or the Xiaomi. What do you recommend?

    • @MrJooploderus
      @MrJooploderus 5 років тому

      @@DamienOnTheGo the Es2 segway. the xiaomi is a good one to, but here we have bad bad roads and have had so many flat tyres.
      now I have about 700km on the segway and no problems at all, can drive about 38 km with the extra battery with lights always on.
      Speed on 25 km tops fast enough for me, for now we can drive here every where no insurance needed but to be saver where a helmet.
      Good luck with what ever you choose to buy, they are both fun.

    Good review I agree with most of what you said. I own one of these and they are a lot of fun. You are right about the high deck height being a bit uncomfortable. My battery ran completely out one day about 1.5 miles from my home and I had to kick the entire way back. With the deck being so high off the ground it puts a lot of stress on your stationary legs knee which afterwards I felt for weeks.
    I read in the help section (haven't tried it yet) but if you lock the scooter and have forgotten the password it can be cleared by powering down the unit while holding both the throttle and brake levers at the same time in their downwards position. Then power back on and it's been cleared. If this is the case then it's quite disappointing that it's that easily bypassed.

    A very important question 💡
    Please answer it I am waiting 👌
    When the battery runs out, is it possible to use leg to push it like non electric scooters?
    Or the engine gets locked?
    ⁉⁉⁉⁉

    • @dnalord77
      @dnalord77 5 років тому

      Yes you could roll it as the wheels do not become locked once the battery runs out, however since it is quite heavy without the assitance of the motor (and the platform is higher than a non electric one thus making the kicking rather awkward) you would end up pushing it walking alongside of it. If in doubt that you could run out of battery, then carry your charger in a small backpack; the charger is not that heavy anyway.

    Have you ever punctured the wheels? Why do not you make a video of how the wheel is changed after a puncture? or without puncture teaches how the wheel should be replaced by a solid or vice versa. Thanks for the video.

      Couldn't find the leak but did have a flat. It was a massive pain to replace. Would recommend taking it to a bike shop. I would be tempted to replace with a solid tire, but would absolutely hate putting it on

    Great review mate. I bought mine for £539 (GB) in the UK from eScootersUK. Very hard to get one in the UK otherwise, unless you want to wait weeks and take the risk on a HK purchase and run the risk with customs. I also bought some light mods from 'Curious Joe', which are easy to find on the web and reduce the shocks of everyday riding. I use my Xiaomi for my dailyh commute and take it on the train, it is brilliant and allows me not to use the car. The range is great if its all flat, but I have some pretty big hills to get up and that can really drain the battery.
    The only thing I DON'T like is the app. I have never been able to get it to work. At all. I'm fairly well versed in tech, but despite that no matter what I try, I just can't get it to work.

    Ever look into those who just live downtown and have distance to walk but biking is bit far.. Just saying this device needs no helmet licence plate and can travel inside stores malls and yes bike paths in Canada.
    eWheels EW-36 Mobility Scooter which is cool and uses lithium ion batteries from the AGM batteries. Reduces weight and increases range.
    Saw a guy in Edmonton AB scooting around at dealership where he worked. He was happy as in 1st gear he gets the best range and speed is reasonable.. last him 3 to 4 days before recharging and goes to work and back and grocery shopping.

    I'm really considering one of these as I'm about to move from my inner city apartment (that's a 5 minute walk from work) to a place that's about 45 minutes away (by foot). This seems like it could be a great way to get to work or into the city at night as I don't currently have a car. My biggest concern is how it will handle less favourable weather conditions. Not only rain, but I live in an incredibly windy city. How do you think this device would manage in those sorts of conditions?
