You just saved me a lot of work, i just bought my first ever saab back and the drivers window isnt working thank you sm 😬 sweet saabs btw
I have been using my key pad to get my driver side window to roll down. I can use the door control panel to roll it up just doesnt roll it down. I have an 08 9-3 Turbo Convertible and honestly when the top was down one day I got caught in the rain and it took a couple minutes to get off the highway so I could put the top up so I think the door panel control may have gotten wet because it hasnt worked since. Thanks for all the great content!!
Very good work! Thanks! 👍🏻😊 When I was taking apart the door from my Saab, the door motor was lubricated with grease. The old grease is all dry. And she was not enough.
Thanks for the video, window just failed on so will do be doing this myself.
omg perfect my 93 has had this issue since i bought it and ive been putting it off for too long
Hey! Super helpful video, wondering if it would be a similar process for replacing regulator on driver side of 2001 Saab 9-3 convertible?
Except for the driver door window, I haven’t rolled down the other windows in years on my 2008 9-3. I recall them slow or getting stuck. I was told to use WD -40 on all the window tracks. Got to try that.
Nice turbo x :)
Just did this a few hours ago no lie. Just purchased a new window regulator on eBay, should be here in a few days. Both front left and rear need changing but right side is perfectly fine.
I have the same issue on mine. Mine are just stuck all the way up. Does yours make a clicking sound when you try and roll the window down?
@@bombardier6033 so my entire left side windows gave out after a little over a month of ownership. I did notice when rolling them up and down they would make clicking or creeping sounds when operating, at first I thought nothing of it until they became slower and noisier during operation and then they became louder and slower and started going in reverse on occasion. Then stopped moving all together with loud grinding noises. Found out it’s the wires being bound up together continuously. Not a motor issue but a regulator issue, very common it seems.
Dude this video just posted up and coincidentally My passenger window just stopped going down but goes up hahaha I guess it’s time to do this process again 😩😂
Also I just started getting squeaking windows, any idea how to resolve this. Thanks in advance, MaySaabLiveForever
Hey! I don't suppose you have ever encountered a problem with an electronic folding wing mirror? I have a 2006 93 Aero 210hp. The n/s (your o/s) mirror functions fine if I fold them or dip the lens down but every time I pull away ( once I hit 20mph or so, which is the speed which the mirrors open automatically if they're folded) the mirror mechanism clicks and spins for around 15-20 seconds with minor movement from the mirror itself.....then all is fine. Any idea of the problem or the fix? Thanks
Hi. Must say I’m loving your videos. I’ve recently bought a Saab 93 convertible (2005) and I’m having trouble with the driver side door locking. Do you have any insight on that? And also my windows won’t automatically go up after you hold the button to put them up.
1. yeah those door lock actuators can go bad; you can probably grab one cheap at your local junkyard
2. sounds like your auto pinch thing might need to be reset; maybe try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it to reset everything
Hey there love your videos first of all. My key question is the passenger glass on my 2004 Saab 9-3 convertible was broken out. I bought the replacement glass but for the life of me I can't seem to find any literature online or videos that will address strictly replacing the glass. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Sorry to hear! Try www.saabwisonline.com
Hey thanks for your video. Please can you tell me a rough idea on how long it should take a mechanic to fit the regulator and new motor and idea roughly in cost labour. He told me 3 hours... Last time I had it fixed was only charged for an hour...
Happy to help! It can be done in an hour, maybe less. I’d find someone else if they’re saying it’ll take 3.
@@AutoAutopsy thank you so much for your reply, much appreciated. I had it done by someone else 1.5 years ago who only charged an hour. I won't be going to my usually mechanic again tbh. Thank you, if you are close to Southampton I'd get you to do it
on my convertible the door panels just un hook no pop thing's.
"I've never had this problem"
Meanwhile me looking at my own Saab with 3/4 windows all tangled regulators
This reminds me of my need to fix my drivers side unlock button, but i'm not entirely sure how to go about doing that
The button or the motor?
@@AutoAutopsy I think the button
My passenger glass does not go down, I can hear the engine receiving current but the glass is stuck, any advice?
Have the rubber runners dried out and jamming the glass !? 👍☘
If the motor is still working just replace the regulator. You can find it for under $30 and shouldn't take more than half an hour to install.
There’s a chance, like he was saying, where the regulator goes bad but the motor is fine. If that happens, you’ll hear the motor but nothing will happen. There’s also a chance (this happened to my car for whatever reason) that the clamps that hold the front two windows become loose or broken and it won’t pull the glass down or push it up. Best way to diagnose whatever it is would be to either remove the door panel and inspect it or listen very closely As you push the switch. Grinding sounds typically mean the regulator is bad but if you hear nothing until you reach the top and it makes a “thunk” sound, it’s probably those clamps
I could really use your advise! Had my uncle's friend older guy 60 fix my timing chain but now it's loud and engine is d o ing this rolling over at start very slow then back but with the clacking sound. I can fix a little but my body because of pain I can't do much! They decided it's look basically saying I took your money 💰fuck off! Needless to say I don't talk to my uncle..he and his but butt buddy hung me out! On disability no way for an attorney!
Not gonna show us!? Dude!
This should be how to take a door card off. Normally your videos are awesome
