    Thanks for posting this. Could not have replaced mine without it. Good tip to drop the window, and replacement mechanism down a couple of inches as it makes the glass retainers more accessible. I popped the with unit off the door card to help with that at re-install stage.

    Nicely done. Great detail. I foolishly thought I could rewind the cable onto the spool after discovering a "rats nest" behind the motor. Bought both rear door OEM regulators on eBay for $50 each- used. This video is exactly what I needed. Thanks for sharing

      Is that regulator universal? I can find one at a junk yard, but I wont know if it works until I swap in out??

    Just followed your video. Extremely helpful. Adding a note for others. My part came from eeuroparts courtesy of Professional Parts Sweden. I believe they were/are OEM. The electrical connection is a pigtail with the OEM on one side and the side that connects to the new regulator a pair of blue and red pigtails. I matched colors blue to blue and red to red and ended up with a window that went down when told to go up and up when told to go down. 🙄. Thought I had somehow plugged them in backwards but nope. The blue goes to red and red goes to blue. Of course they do 🤪. 2006 9-3 Sportcombi for the record.

    Thanks for the video. Very helpful. I want to to suggest using suction cups to hold the window up during the removal of the broken regulator if there is no one around to hold it up.

    I changed the rear window regulator but it’s still not working.
    The old regulator is clearly broken with the wire busted.
    Is it possible that the motor burnt out when the regulator failed.
    When I try to wind the window up it makes a bit of a faint clicking sound like it’s trying to work

    I am sure that after the repair you have water into your rear back seat carpet .
    Why ? Because you didnt get silicone with heat resisant at that insulation . Its a huge problem these insulations and the silicones they have on them . And if you hurt them then the isssues are even bigger

    • @bpetertube
      @bpetertube  2 роки тому

      I did not, but we also don't get much rain where I live. Can you provide more detail about the silicone you use and the step you recommend so that other viewers can benefit from it?

    Can you tell where you bought it from? Also, this video fits for a 2007 model ?

    • @bpetertube
      @bpetertube  5 років тому +1

      The rear window regulator I got from a a donor vehicle. The procedure for a 2007 model should be very similar to 2004 as I believe the donor vehicle was model year 2007. If you decide to replace it yourself, please post here about any differences you encountered so that others can benefit from your experience. The front window regulator, I purchased from am-autoparts.com.

      @@bpetertube I got thus MaxAir LH regulator, but turns out that the motor doesnt go in. Idk why, but ebay dint lemme know that i had to purchase the motor serperately.

      @@nisthuljose8562 If the original motor does not fit into the replacement window regulator, I would return the regulator and get one that fits the regular motor. This will allow you to avoid the extra expense.
