I own quite a few LT Wright knives, and I absolutely love them. The quality is awesome, and the handles are the most ergonomic I have ever known (with the exception of perhaps a few BR knives or Reiff knives). I am not really in to their small edc blades (or even tried) but have the Genesis, Outback, GNS, Bushcrafter, and Illuminus models, from A2, 3V to Magnacut steels. All are amazing.
Highly recommend for those that don't yet have one.😊
Wishing you all a great New year's eve and entry into the new year!🎉

I've been running into this issue looking for a solid EDC fixed blade. Tried a number of them over the last few months and landed on the LT Wright Next Gen. It's got a beefy 4 finger grip and a stout little blade. I cut the belt loop off the stock leather sheath and it has made for the perfect all rounder pocket fixie, highly recommend!

  • @James-ke5sx

It might make a good neck knife. It's like a mora eldris with a tiny handle. You might end up getting used to it after you give it a chance. For EDC you don't really need a big knife and this looks pretty convenient. Recently I got a BPS Finn Lite. Inexpensive, small and I've been wearing it around my neck ever since. Sometimes small is better.

I've owned many LT's over the years. My favorites are the Pronghorn and the Genesis. Pronghorn is fantastic for whittling on a stick, while the Genesis is great for a primary belt knife. Both are 3V with scandi grind.

In CA, bc EDC fixed blades are considered concealed, its much safer to the public to carry a 7" blade on a dangler bc its not concealed. Makes so much sense lol.

LT’s lineup of small knives are some of my favorites. There was a couple years back that they seemed to have done a 3V run with each of all their small models and I grabbed a bunch because they were still under or right around $100. The ones that come to mind are the Frontier First, Patriot, Lil Muk, and even the Pronghorn. That said, probably my favorite is the Great Plainsman I have in D2. It’s definitely got a blade that’s kinda in line with the rest but a handle length is like you were describing where you’ve got a full 4 finger grip. Also the blade profile just looks cool and the D2 heat treat seems great on mine because it holds an edge, feels very hard on the stones, and de-burrs beautifully.

a few years ago, I received an LT Wright Bushcrafter in 3V, and it is an outstanding knife. one of my grail knives is an LT Wright as well. ( Sospas) I really like this knife, and would probably carry it as a necker. the fit and finish on LT's knives are some of the very best I have ever seen, and I have been using fixed blade knives for 50 years. It is critical to know as much as you can about something before pulling the trigger on it, so I can see where this might have been a surprise if you thought it was a belt knife.

For a small fixed blade for EDC it has to be stainless. It has to have a kydex or plastic sheath with a flat bottom so it doesn't rub holes in my pockets. It has to have a slim profile. Anything else and I just might as well bring a regular size belt knife.

I own 6 LTWKs. I'm also a believer in having a 4 finger grip regardless of how short the blade is. The frontier valley fits this bill well, mine rides in a custom leather pocket sheath. I absolutely love it for edc and light bushcraft tasks. It definitely was a conversation starter for a guys night out, when I pulled it out to cut some food. Pocket carry is the only option for compact edc for me, kydex or leather is fine so long as the knife fits well and build quality is high.

I know that a lot of people like kydex, but the sheaths are way too big and bulky. They are just some more awful plastic that ends up on our beaches here in the Pacific Northwest. If nothing else, just add some leather cordage or paracord with a fisherman’s knot and you have a dangler. LT Wright makes amazing knives. Thanks 🎸🔪

G'day Paul, Re; kydex, depends on the design and application IMO. I certainly hope old sheaths and the manufacturing there of, dont end up in waterways, ........ perhaps a long bow to draw ? ........ mind you, I do get your point, ........ unfortunately, ...... noth'n would surprise me ; (
I assume you do realise a "single" cordage dangler loop on a belt, will be always wanting to twist, so you're gonna need two of 'em ; )
Btw; you might like to take a look at a "double fisherman's" knot, .....like the Irish say .......... "to be sure" ; ) ....... hava a good one mate. Cheers Duke.

Your thumbnail caption and title makes it seem like there was an issue with the knife. You clearly know that LT has a good reputation for making high quality knives and that using those descriptions would be a little sensational and likely get some clicks from people who would see it and be surprised that you got a lemon from LT.
Your actual issue was with a listing on DLT’s website. From your discription, they fixed the listing and offered to return/refund you. So it would seem that everything was made as right as it could be.
The issue that you had was nothing to do with the actual knife. And it was not that significant to the actual knife review. The actual relevance is more of general “When you buy stuff online, every now and then there is a mistake on website listings.”
Also your caption/description makes it seem like it was an LT issue. You never even mention that it was DLT. If you were not doing it for clicks, and thought that it was an issue with DLT, you would have cautioned people about DLT. But you didn’t mention DLT in the video becuase you knew that it was an honest mistake on their part and they did what was necessary to make it right.

This would be analogous to me posting a vidoe with a thumbnail that would remind people of gideons channel and adding the caption “Gideon's tactical…living a lie?”
But the video is about how there was a debate in Gideons comments sections about whether clickbait is lying. And in my video, I come down on the side that “It’s a grey area as long as you’re not blatantly defaming someone.”
Then someone complains in my comments section that the caption seems disparaging to gideon. And I respond “I didn’t say he WAS living a lie. And his video is actually what made me consider the subject of clickbait as lie….so my caption is not clickbate or defamatory. It IS a legitimate caption about something in the video.”

Roselli Makes some crazy hard blades with their ultra high carbon steel, but you don’t see many people do it. The steel is going to get pretty brittle and chippy if you run it that hard. It could work if it’s only going to be a really light use knife.
I honestly hate steels that chip and nick easily. You could sharpen a dull knife 10 times and not remove as much steel as you need to if you have to get a smallish chip in a blade.
I work in the trades and carry a fixed blade on my belt every day. I’ve had knives from several high quality makers and I have never found LTWK’s to dull significantly faster than other makers blades do.
I do have one fixed blade in magnacut that is treated at 63-64. It does seem to hold an edge a little longer than most of my other knives but it’s honestly not that crazy of a difference.
If you use a knife alot you’re going to have to sharpen it some. I think that it’s easy to over nerd about how big of a difference some of this stuff makes for real life use.

G'day Aaron, good look'n little fella and the blade is fit for purpose, though as a replacement/alternative to a folder, a 3 finger job is a step backwards IMO. I'm sure the A2 would be fine, personally I'd be wanting a stainless.
You beat me to it, as nice as the leather is, (and it is VERY nice), I'm with ya, reckon it needs kydex, (I'd go scout carry with this one, though I could see some folks going neck knife, perhaps inverted pack strap carry), but main thing is, it needs click retention ....... and a thumb push off !!!!! ....... even the simplest of Mora sheaths have that ; )
    Cheers Duke.
P.S. I really like the watch, everything you need and noth'n you dont ...... but since I already have a G Shock, no cigar ; )
Btw; Re; solar jobs, they are very good these days, but it still pays to consistently give it the juice, i.e. not one for occasionally bring'n out of a draw, ...... or to keep it always hiding under a sleeve for that matter. Different animal to this one, but I've been running a Casio Oceanus T200 as an EDC for several years now, (outstanding for the dough IMO), but gotta say ...... liv'n on a window sill when not in use, makes all the difference ; )

Big mistake getting started with LT because there is no going back! If the patriot is too small, try the Next Gen or Bushbaby if you can find one. LT makes the sharpest spines in the business. You can’t go wrong with his knives, especially the GNS (go no show) or the Genesis which is very different. Keep your eyes peeled for next drop, they disappear quickly.

"more rust resistant than 1095" ??? I'm sure its a great knife, but when you have to dig that deep for a compliment, you might as well be throwing shade. You want to go out with my cousin ? I just found a Patriot at my local pawn shop for $60.00. It's in like new condition and I couldn't pass it up.
I've got small hands, so I can get four fingers on the handle in a hammer grip. So far, it's performed well.
I found the sheath awkward as well, so I've been carrying it as a neck knife. Thanks for the video and you thought on this knife. And hope you and your family have a Happy New Year!

yeah the mistake was buying an LTWK with their dog dhit heat treats haha , also can’t forget when they sent out a bunch of knives in A2 that tested at like 52-54 hrc or something ridiculous and then when the recipients complained to LTWK, LTWK basically said ‘fuck you there’s nothing wrong with the knives at all, either send it back and get a refund or get fucked’ not to mention their knives have bad geometry and they heat treat their magnacut to like 60 hrc or something ridiculous then made a youtube video saying that AEBL performs similar to magnacut 😂😂 yeah i bet it does when your magnacut is heat treated like dog shit
