Thank you for your video. In regards to W&W auction, I've dealt with them in the past a few times and unfortunately the shipping companies they work with charge their clients arm and a leg for shipping items to the USA. Compared to the other shipping businesses in the UK they feel like you have no other option but go through them and they charge three or four times the reasonable amount. Don't bid with W&W anymore just because of that. Make sure you get a shipping quote before you bid.
Dear Peter, thank you for your video, it was really enjoyable as usual. One comment I would like to make, if I may, is that your commentary box today obscured a lot of those Item photographs on the right hand side of the screen, and whilst it's nice to see parts of your living room it would be nice if you could just shrink your commentary box down just a little in the future thank you. Not meaning to sound ungrateful I thoroughly enjoy your programmes and your commentary. You are unique. Thanks again.
Yes, the photos were outstandiing on the Woolley & Wallis auction, they make it easy to view and to enlarge rhe image and provide good descriptions. Jamboo (jade bamboo) is my new favorite portmanteau word, excellent. Portrait of Christine Keeler, no thanks, show his portrait in the attic, bless their hearts, politicians with their pants down, blame the women, as ever.😊 Were barber bowls used for medical bleeding?
@christopherdresser8061 some hiccups during registration. Nothing serious but it left a sour taste in missing the chance to participate and they could’ve been more helpful and polite. Cheers 🤝
I am very partial to Koransha, think they make some of the nicest Imari but never had any idea the name dates back so far, would be really curious to pursue more information on this and the history of their production.
Hi there Peter! I just came across your video from a year ago about the Chinese pieces in the British Royal Collection. Very interesting! As a big collector of Japanese Imari porcelain I have been interested in finding out what pieces are in the Japanese Imperial Collection. I can only imagine what fantastic items they must have. But haven't really been able to find much online, even in terms of pictures, maybe one or two pictures here and there. Perhaps this is a subject for a future video on the Japanese Imperial Collection. Not sure if it would rival that of the Chinese state collections. Greetings from South Africa.
Is that Kangxi dragon Jar from Joanie's legit? Looks a bit suspect, then again so much late Ming early Qing B&W looks suspect these days. They sell some good things but also some suspect things, they also had a yellow ground 'hongxian' vase this sale which is clearly modern. There was also a 'Guangxu' b&w lotus covered bowl which is also not right.
It's not really fair for you to give out the prices because those who have followed you for many years when you didn't do that are losing items to newbies who only watch for that reason!
Always the generous educator
Thank you

The kōrō has a tanuki on it.
