Very few deathcore songs actually had lyrics like this.
Primarily came from Whitechapels first CD and Thy art is Murders first EP.
To a degree, maybe Carnifex and Suicide Silence first CDs had elements of these type of lyrics.
After those releases pretty much the entire Deathcore genre moved away from misogynist lyrics and started writing about Religion, Depression, Drugs, War and Politics instead,

I did research because I couldn't believe it either and while they do have a cross in their logo, some of the other groups their members have been a part of had lyrical themes of anti-religion, sex, cannibalism, etc. so I don't think they are?
I think the joke was that 'Vile Impregnation' is a 'satanic' inversion of 'Immaculate Conception'... On the other hand, re Phoenix' comment, surely cannibalism is a central feature of Christianity? ;)

I get groped at shows everytime I go. I've heard guys still in 2022 say I like metal and hardcore for attention and at certain hardcore venues I'm basically not welcomed because I'm a small woman. Yes, it's still a big issue.

the second one "I miss you" gave it away. Incels have never dated, therefore they couldn't 'miss' someone they in fact never had. jokes aside, I also believe the articulation that these bands use is a tiny bit more profound than what the incel community could ever scrape together and some of these are pretty poetic and rhyming which kind of gives it away.
however, some of these are very difficult and it seems these bands browse the incel community and just copy and paste some of those rants into their songs.

The more "core" related a band is the more likely they are to have stuff like this in it in my experience. Not that other genres aren't often misogynistic as well, but it's a generally a different flavor of women hating.
@@Evan_Schaefering Slam is by far the worst offender, the lyrics and the album arts tend to be on the extreme side of even Deathcore, the album arts in particular are quite horrendous and played up for shock factor.
This is why I treat metal like mumble rap, 95% of the time I don't pay attention to the lyrics.
I got 7/10 but I can't believe I didn't get the Thy Art one. That song is so funny.

Yeeeeeeahhhh this is why I've always been really discerning about which extreme metal bands I listen to, and was never much for deathcore.
Guys ask why women never come to shows, but once you understand the horrific and rampant misogyny in certain circles (often deathcore and slam) you'll find that there's no mystery to it at all!!!
Shock value misogyny I didn’t pay much mind to since it just seemed like B movie horror plot stuff. But then I started checking out the bands I listen to a little closer. Like, Cannibal Corpse stuff is just corny schlock, but some grind bands are….sus.

I don't listen to slam or deathcore, but it turns out that spending far too much time online and my teenage years on metal forums made me quite good at spotting incels.
To be honest those forums messed me up far more than incels did. I thought those people were my "tribe". When i grew older and realised the absolute hatered twoards women i immediately stoped calling myself a metalhead.
I still love metal, but i don't want to be associated with people who think I'm scum of the earth.
Side note: looking back, i find posts moaning about how theres no metal women very ironic, considering the metal men are literally driving them away
The easiest thing to do is to not listen to deathcore as the VAST majority of the incels are among deathcore

They're actually just reasonable life style things. It's stuff like only engage in sexual acts if given explicit permission, dress for your self, give respect and love where it is deserved, don't litter and follow the countryside laws for keeping it clean and the animals safe, and more.
Meanwhile in "Satanic" metal it's usually obvious who is actually just writing about hating their very religious upbringing.

Knowing that there are people out there who genuinely think and feel this way is a hard thing to come to terms with.
Same with the misogyny in metal. The bands I listen to from the genre don't touch on material like this so I've been pretty ignorant of the fact that it exists. It really is something that should be addressed more often so maybe the community can start steering off of that path.
Extreme music youtube is so densely populated with surface-level metalheads and dudes who grew up on 2000s metalcore, its so sick to see someone with a sore throat shirt and powerviolence/grind and crust posters all over their wall. This was such a quality video as well.

I got 8/10 right and the femcel bonus, but for bad reasons
I used to be in a slam/ deathcore band back years ago guilty of the same things when I was just out of high school. I was just going along with my band mates with shows and rehearses but I never took into account the incel-latent behavior/ lyrics it was entrenched in. I think I attributed tolerating/ not sensing it from going through a bad breakup from my High school Ex myself. Thankfully, looking at hindsight, we didn’t get far and eventually dissolved into our own paths with good endings; we all grew out of those childish misogynistic thinking and now lead better lives for it.
I can't describe how perplexing this all is to to an aro/ace man. Bros, just chill. I will never get it, and I'm a huge metalhead to be fair. I promise, the problem is more about you than women broadly speaking. Just saying, there is a fuck ton about the world that is much more worth your anger than a woman who hurt your feelings.

As a metalhead who also supports feminism, it gets harder to identify with the metal community every day
You can always listen to some punk, especially harder stuff like hardcore, crust, fastcore/powerviolence, grindcore etc... misogyny is a big NO in those genres and scenes. But having said that, these awful folks in metal are loud minority I would say, some bands are over the top in either direction, but at least you can see for yourself. As for the people, well, it depends. I met my share of reactionary metalheads with essentially beliefs like those of alt-right shooters and those which are completely opposite, and anything in between. In punk is easier to weed out such reactionary beliefs and attitudes from scene because the genre and scene itself is very vocal politically, which isn't the case with metal so much. Still listen to both extensively.

It's not rejection or mommy issues(it can be but it's not always) most of the time it's having 1 or 2 bad experiences with awful women and lambasting all of women as awful people.
Psychologically speaking, lots of hate is built that way, tons of racist people have a similar experience in hating certain groups based off having bad interactions with them.

Y'know, I was going to question all the Deathcore slander, because I just write about trauma and murdering abusers in my music,
But then i remember that most early Death and Metalcore bands were fronted by 20 year olds with a heavy sense of self entitlement, and no sense of self control-
To be fair about the Whitechapel lyrics, those were written from the perspective of Jack the Ripper in the midst of a concept album about the Whitechapel killings. Their later music is nothing like that.

What does it mean to say misogyny is an issue in all music? Misandry is just as present, if not more so, in music. So since that covers almost all humans, maybe neither of them are a problem since it's just art and people venting?
