Eastern obolo is my local government that beach is home for me, we have been looking for a way to let the world know what we have , unfortunately we are a minority and no government identifies with it.
Very unfortunate, this are the types that bring in summer money for some western countries annually from tourists. Can't the state government take better care of that Lugard former home and office if the federal government abandoned it, because its a glory to the state to be hosting historical memorial for the nation. We had rulers that are sitting on raw materials that will brings in the needed money but don't know to process them to become, yet they come to western world with not those resources to borrow money from them. We have all year round good weather for tourism.
Thank you for showing the world this beautiful island located in Eastern obolo in Akwa ibom state Nigeria, through your lens, hopefully the needful would be done.
I was there in 2022, and it's really beautiful. Such a pristine beach, looks almost untouched. Sadly, even some supposed Akwa Ibomites don't even know that there's such a beach in Akwa Ibom. All they know is Ibeno. The people really need to do a whole lot more about their self-education.
Akwa Ibom State is truly beautiful. The people are highly hospitable. Rich culture, good background and industry. Akwa Ibom is waiting for discovery as the Dubai of Africa!!
The beaches haven't been explored due to lack of development, all of the Niger Delta coastline will be brought to life with the Lagos - Calabar coastal road, I pray it is a success as it will bring in more investors and make the area more accessible.
That coastal road project is about costing Nigeria one of it's finest beach resort ⛱️ and ecosystem' ever built by an indigenous entrepreneur. I hope the government reviews that demolition order ASAP. Well-done BW. I just subscribed ✌️

When I visited last year, I went to Badagry and other supposedly tourist places and I was very disappointed with how the places looked. The lack of maintenance was heartbreaking to see. Badagry alone has the potential to attract millions of tourists and create many jobs for the locals. It was very disheartening to see the area in the state it was in. I see so much potential for tourism in Nigeria and I was quite flabbergasted that more hasn't been done in that aspect. People need jobs, and a higher salary to afford to live and your country has all the resources to make all of that happen! Tourism is an avenue to make all of that happen. Thanks for sharing this video!
Everything should not be commercialized. Sometimes it's best to leave mother nature alone. My point is, no need commercializing the beach. It may damage its natural beauty. Everything shouldn't be about money.
This is a poor mentality speaking. That is why you remain poor and you complain. You are like the servant God gave 1 talent and instead he buried it to preserve it and gave it back to his master. What did the master say to him? Go read the Bible please. Why do you think Europeans and North Americans are jetting and buying holiday packages outside their countries?
so only the rich countries are allowed to commericialize and make money from their while we expect poorer countries to leave their natural state without making profit? commericialization of nature is to help the people living there at the end of the day.
I lived in Akwa Ibom state - Upenekang in Ibeno LGA - from 2010 - 2012. So far, it is one of my best times when I was in Nigeria. Till date, I am still connected with the Ibeno people. Very lovely and accommodating people. God bless Ibeno, God bless Akwa Ibom state, God bless Nigeria.

The beauty of Akwa Ibom spreads throughout the state. Its great that your closing narrative took to possible corrections. Great documentary.
Lord Lugard also had official residence in Akwa Ibom. He had in Calabar cross River which was Nigeria's first capital city then he later moved to Lokoja in Kogi state which is the confluence state where River Benue and Niger meets. He wanted to control Nigeria from the centre. Till date Kogi state Govt house is called the Lord Lugard house. Even when he moved to Lagos, many people don't know that he Governed from Takwa Bay island close to Apapa before moving to Marina.
Beautiful gift of nature❤🥳 Nigeria is super blessed with everything from our climate to the topography and water bodies, rich cultures, gold and artefacts etc. the only thing we lack is good leadership
Wow what a beautiful beach 🏖️. Just a bridge 🌉 over the river and a stretch of road along the coast will make the place booom… I definitely will be visiting Uyo next time I’m Naija
That's a very lovely beach. I think the Lagos-Calabar coastal road, when finished, would open the coast of Akwa Ibom to more tourism... That's the beauty of infrastructure, it has positive ripple effects.
@@Bigwillz Oh they have already begun the Lagos part of the project. I think the FG is serious about it and Akwa Ibom is going to benefit immensely. Imagine people taking a direct train to be dropped directly at the coast of Akwa Ibom from Lagos, it would be such an amazing boost. ✌🏾
My dear, they didn't have any. That's the last time I am doing that. Now I'm going to get a personal one for places like this where they don't have any.
If I may ask, by who sir? Nigeria is one country whose leaders have no dreams. What do you have to say about the Lord Luggard's building? They don't care about tourism let alone keeping historical artifacts. Have you forgot that Tinapa has collapsed?
Wow! I love the way they preserved history and you are right, they should preserve the building and also the boat better. Maybe build another structure over them.
my beautiful state, this particular LG is surrounded by water, I think it has another beach but not as big as this and you don't need to cross the water..
Meaning you don't believe it will happen. Doubting Thomas said the same about the blue line when it was using diesel before electrification. They laughed at the governor with different emojis on all social media platforms and made fun of Lagos state. The red line has been commissioned and ready to take off. Be positive for once.
@@FERESE yes o. Because we know what can happen in Nigeria, one never fully believe anything the government says they will do. They can start and somewhere down the line abandon the project. In spite of what I just said, I am hoping it is done and completed in record time.
A bridge should be built across that stream you crossed to give people smooth access to the beach. Easy access to the beach could be the reason tourists are not attracted there. Also think of the security of visitors. That place looks haunted.Lord Lugard's house should be renovated. It should be a historical landmark.
These are some of the things Ghana has capitalised its tourism on. E reach Nigeria turn = f9. If there were tour packages and mini beach side resorts, staycations alone will generate so much reveue.
That's why many of us still believe Nigeria should break up. Places like this WILL NEVER realize their full potential while still in Nigeria. That's why crude oil will never sustain Nigeria as the only mean of revenue. That's why other places will remain overcrowded and the resources overstretched. If we break up, the different countries will be able to discover their worth and their true potential and even compete developmental-wise, thereby facilitating rapid growth of these countries. At the minimum, Nigeria should go back to the regional system of government!
@@ChigozieAnyim-zg4hx Regional system of government in Nigeria is more or less like a break up. That's why the powers that be will not allow it to happen, because they will no longer be able to take money from the south to build the north. Their pot of soup will run dry, hence its's like breaking up. In fact, it will lead to final break up.
Wow, your still at it and doing a wonderful job. Thank u, videos like this make me happy. As for tourism, im not so sure. I used to like the idea but not anymore because nature is best left alone. Thats what makes it beautiful. Secondly, i wish our own people would develop it. What tends to happen is outside entities come in and the indigenous people no longer have access to their own beaches. It is happening in Jamaica and Mexico, people who enjoyed their own place peacefully can no longer do so. No, lets still have something thats sacred and OUR OWN! Wonderful video

My people As an Akwa Ibomite.. pls the government must enact laws to protect our people from losing their land and properties with no more land for sale .. it should only be for lease only including properties.. this would allow our people the indigenous to have a sustained income and if they miss a payment the property or land automatically returns to the indigene.. case in point in high tourism area across the world there is no property ownership it is on a 20 yr lease bases.. pls get together and arrange programs to guide the government so our people do not sell everything becoming homeless and gateman to no non indigenous people , group or business. Much love from Akwa Ibom American from Texas USA. Akwa Ibom nyin ayaya tutu!

It's not about bringing in investments. Ask yourself what has happened to Obudu cattle ranch and the FTZ there. Do you know how much was put in it and how much it was generating. That beautiful project was killed by politics.I saw a video by a youtuber last year, and my heart bled 😢. Yesterday, 6th April 2024, i read in the papers that landmark resort in lagos Island, ( a $200m) is about to lose a large chunk of its property to make way for a coastal road that was designed recently. These and so many other factors is why serious forward thinking investors dont want to invest in these places.
Coastal road wasn’t designed recently. As a little girl growing up in Falomo my military dad took me to bar beach and told me there was plan for coastal road that will head to port harcourt and Calabar. However, they would have told the people building stuffs on the coast in Lagos from inceptions. It’s so sad landmark is affected
@@ministerejen, I had no idea that this concept / idea to build this highway has been thought of long time ago. That's amazing. That means that the affected people must have been aware but believe it will never happen. I feel bad for the Landmark guy.
Nice video brother, however the state government just spent £billions to build foreign Church building instead of use that money to preserve those important tourist sites and others important public infrastructures. Moreover before Nigeria tourist industry will be open these two important issues must put in orders, (1)Nigeria need to conduct free and fair elections, because free and fair elections send strong positive signals to outside world. (2)insecurity must be dealt with seriously, because all those insecurity mainly in Northern Nigeria are sending very Bad images of Nigeria to rest of World.
Imagine hotels and resorts built in those beaches how well it will develop those lands...rather they travel Maldives...Ibiza...Seychelles and all...not knowing we are further killing our economy
Ahh you are back in AKWA Ibom, welcome. Your vid really helped me to travel there. Is there a way to reach out to you in case I know investors. You seem like you know your way around Nigerian.
The word "maintenance" is not in the vocabulary of Nigeria. Since gaining independence, they have allowed everything to rot to the ground. What a lack of respect for one's own community. It's a complete shame.
@so9487 What I really meant is that, keeping the place very neat, free from rubbish and unadulterated by the authorities is a form of preservation. As for the slave raiders building, it can rot.
@@amoatv3292 It's important to understand the history of slavery. Before colonization, slavery was Africa's main economy. In the mid-7th century, the Arabs invaded Africa and spread Islam. They enslaved many Africans and transported them to the Arabian Peninsula via the Trans-Saharan slave trade route where millions of the men were castrated to prevent them from reproducing (that's why there are not that many blacks in the Arabian Peninsula). Some of these slaves were captured by force, while others were purchased from tribal chiefs in exchange for gold and other goods. Centuries later, African tribal chiefs began selling slaves to European invaders (not colonizers, who arrived much later). It's worth noting that colonizers actually outlawed slavery. I highly recommend a visit to the Badagry Museum in Nigeria if you are interested in learning about the history of slavery. It is worth noting that in addition to enslaving Africans, the Arabs also enslaved millions of Europeans during the Barbary slave trade. Interestingly, some of the descendants of those European slaves are now living in North Africa.

Eastern obolo is my local government that beach is home for me, we have been looking for a way to let the world know what we have , unfortunately we are a minority and no government identifies with it.
Nice to hear you are from there. Your place is stunning. Your place is beautiful.

The beaches haven't been explored due to lack of development, all of the Niger Delta coastline will be brought to life with the Lagos - Calabar coastal road, I pray it is a success as it will bring in more investors and make the area more accessible.
We pray they carry out the project.

@CoastaG, thank you for watching and lending your voice to this. Thank you for sharing your experience. It is the sad reality of things here.
Everything should not be commercialized. Sometimes it's best to leave mother nature alone. My point is, no need commercializing the beach. It may damage its natural beauty. Everything shouldn't be about money.

Lord Lugard also had official residence in Akwa Ibom. A bridge should be built across that stream you crossed to give people smooth access to the beach. Easy access to the beach could be the reason tourists are not attracted there. Also think of the security of visitors. That place looks haunted.Lord Lugard's house should be renovated. It should be a historical landmark.
Thank you for your suggestion. I wish these things would be done. It will improve the appeal of these places.

💯👍
You're right. But regional government to me is better than total breakup. God help Nigeria.
@@ChigozieAnyim-zg4hx Regional system of government in Nigeria is more or less like a break up. That's why the powers that be will not allow it to happen, because they will no longer be able to take money from the south to build the north.

@@amoatv3292 I don't believe so.
@so9487 What I really meant is that, keeping the place very neat, free from rubbish and unadulterated by the authorities is a form of preservation. As for the slave raiders building, it can rot.
@@amoatv3292
It's important to understand the history of slavery.
