Honestly, Capcom doesn’t deserve to get mad if anyone starts pirating the game.
Lets not forget that Denuvo is cancerous in conjunction with graphically intensive games, it just ruins the experience for everyone.

@@shawndonq135It's an anti piracy measure that lowers the performance of the game. On top of that it doesn't actually stop piracy, just slows it down. Hogwarts legacy had denuvo and was cracked in two weeks. And since the pirated copies don't have denuvo, they end up running better than legal copies.
It serves no purpose other than annoying the player.
Are they threatening these companies or what ? It clearly destroys performance game after game yet they keep using it.
Completely hammered on steam. They shot themselves in the foot. Game might be good, but ticking off steam reviewers easily lost them sales.
The game is not good if it has microtransactions (as well as being bloated).

While I haven't seen much of the actual game and it's performance, there is NO EXCUSE for singleplayer games to have microtransactions especially when its already a 70 dollar game.

The absolute worst part is not the microtransactions, it's the fact there was absolutely no mention of the microtransactions until the game actually released by which time it was too late to cancel preorders and might not have been noticed by people buying it when it became available.

What gets me the most is that the devs talked about the lack of fast travel systems in the game and how it was detrimental to the game. Yet here they sell fast travel crystals and such i the game. Not only is that hypocritical, but it makes you wonder how much of the game was developed around these microtransactions. And you can't trust publishers and developers to make good decisions that have the consumers best interest in mind. They have their profits and margins in mind.
Especially when the first game has an infinite fast travel you can get.
But the devs were 100% correct, and it’s clear to anyone that has actually played it that they designed the game with that philosophy in mind. I completely agree that the microtransactions are pointless and greedy, but they’re Capcom’s fault and ultimately don’t affect the experience whatsoever.
I've heard that the main guy in the dev team who is the founder of Dragon's Dogma actually had a battle against the publishers about putting MTX in the game. But he had no choice but to do so, and he only made it to the point that the MTX are totally optional because there's no reason to purchase them at all. So that was pretty based for him to do that and actually siding with us gamers. If the game ever goes on sale, i'll give it a benefit of a doubt and play it.

Yes you can find the gaol keys in game for free, but I bet they'd be a lot more plentiful if there was no online shop, and that's the problem with "It's just cosmetics" or "You can find them for free" because it does effect game design.
The suicide squad premium currency is available in game? Will you defend that as well?

It’s a death by a thousand cuts, poor performance, MTX implementation, NO NEW GAME option and lack of proper manual saves. And an even worser mechanic known as Dragonsplague that can nuke your entire progress.

Performance is terrible and MTX are scummy but do not affect the game at all, everything else is a game decision inspired by the first title, so if you don't like it, that's fine, but it doesn't mean the game is bad. Lame take tbh
Just because it's optional in one game, it could be necessary or essential in a different game, it started off with horse armor and no one thought nothing of it. If something isn't said about it now, it'll get worse because they'll just let every inch that others give them and stretch it further to justify more predatory practices.

In dmc 5 its easy to get orbs. In DD2 fast travel rocks are fill and running around its boring and makes you waste your time. Makes the game feel like a chore

In the last couple years its become the new norm for game companies to release half baked games and they just want to make the excuse how they will fix it later. I am sorry but this is just unproffessional and irresponsible.
As a DD1 fan I have alot of gripes with this game. It's way too short and way too small. In vernwurth it was fine things were going at a good pace. The moment you get to the second area the game just throws away previous characters and stories and just rushes you to the end. They showed off everything in trailers, the colossus is the second last boss and they showed everything about that boss. They left no secrets to discover. It just feels like the devs just wanted to be done with this project they just didn't want to develop it anymore they just wanted to be done

Its important to understand the difference bwtween GPU and CPU. This game has tons and tons of real time simulation going on at once. Physics on cloth, items, characters of many sizes at different places, pathing for all NPCs in x area.
I hate denuvo, but it's also simply due to how real simulation works in general.
Then don't release the game until the issues are flushed out. Obviously.

Gpu wise however, yes the game could use some more gpu efficiency.

Im running it on a 5800x/ x570 motherboard/ 6800xt red devil and im surprisingly doing ok. Ive unfortunatley heard of these performance issues from friends with intel i9 processors .... could be they havnt optimized for some cpus?
One save file is absurd, thought this was supposed to be an RPG? What if you want to experience the game as a different character with a different build and choices? Objectively trash design.
one save per character is fine, no multiple characters and no new game option is asinine. Combined with poor performance and microtransactions, this is *not* sitting at the cool kid's table with Larian and FromSoft
Fromsoft has also done this before not mtx but pre-order bonuses and that's stuff u actually can't get in game anymore which isn't like dd2 cus u can get everything in the store easily

I really enjoy the game it’s so sad how many bugs it has, I wish Triple A companies were better. Im Just glad Most people enjoy the story and gameplay and recognizes its goods, but the game is so poorly optimized😭. I hope the directors get their comeback, bc this is so sad to see.

Because Helldivers 2 is for people with friends as it’s online coop only and Dragons dogma 2 is for people who want single player.
Performance is one thing but most if not all microtransation can be earned in game making the need to talk about them pointless, Capcom has done it before with RE 4 remake and monster hunter, nobody had a problem then. 🤷♂️ MTX is not the main concern.

To play devils advocate, the “micro transactions” are actually just the deluxe edition items repackaged to buy individually that’s why most of the stuff you can only buy once. So if they do that is that not okay? Still the other stuff is inexcusable

Capcom got on my no buy list a long time ago. I was a fan of the original game but I was smart enough to figure out the stove was hot after it burned me a couple times.
Just to show how disgusting this is. On my first day playing through this i died several times i got a wakestone shard on one quest and had to go through several hours of walking or using ox cart to certain towns to comeplete quests to get another wakestone shard to comeplete it then i died two other times on the ox cart because A TROLL, GRIFFON, HORDE OF GOBLINS AND WOLVES ATTACKED MY CART and I was LEVEL 3, this was a random encounter but it happened again and i didnt think so save beforehand so i lost progress.
this game was designed for this digusting greedy behaviour especially new players.
Almost all the MTX on store are part of the Deluxe edition bonuses, just sold separately.
Except of the portal marker, which is unnecessary as you can use maximum of 10 which all of them are in the game.
MTX in this game are a "one time" purchase. That's why some are labeled as A B C... Also they are one time use. Also there are enough in the game to have the max amount.
Only maximum of 10 port markers can be used, which means the "spare" one bought as MTX is useless if you find 10 in the game. Basically it is for impatient players.
Even the camping tent is not the lightest in the game(there is an "Elite Camping Kit" which is 4KG).
No you can't pay to start a new game...
Moreover some or most people are not defending MTX/poor performance, they respond to misinformation as a result of fallcy(bad/logically wrong conclusions).
So it doesn't mean the those people buy MTX or think that MTX is fine in a single player game... that's also an example of fallacy.
The best solution is to not buy it. it doesn't matter how much noise people make, if there are enough people that buy MTX. Money > principles. Facts don't care about feelings and vise versa.
I bought rise of the ronin and I’m playing through it right now and everybody is shitting on it but I like it. I know it’s a watered down version of ghost of Tsushima and it’s a bland story but I’m liking the combat it feels good the way you deflect and parry looks sick imo

This is what console has over pc , alot of games I see ppl saying they have bugs and other problems at launch or that every multiplayer game is littered with hackers I never see most of the issues ppl complain about in games on PS5 or XSS
That’s because every console is the same quality no matter what. That’s easy to test bugs for. They probably overlooked most PC configurations, which if anyone has spent anytime ever in the gaming world they would know that JAPANESE GAMES in general are poorly ported to PC and are jank at launch more often than not. It’s more than likely testing errors on the devs side that will most likely get fixed soon. Not good or really excusable, but it comes with the territory. In the end PC will still have better quality of and experience.

Ive been looking forward to this since 2016. The first gm slapped. 8/10 only things id even consider bad is a lack of music when walking around and the drop off in graphics here and there. Im otherwise happy with my purchase. (On console)

It sucks cause i got a 4060ti and most settings at max and i get 100fps. I think the real problem is the recommended requirments which is a lie. It feels to get good gameplay u need a 4000 series graphics cards, anything less is gonna be an issue.
The Game is CPU heavy GPU really doesnt make a difference too much
If it gets any worse in the next decade I might have to hang up my gaming jersey for a bit on the newer games
In my opinion, micro transactions are fine, but I will say this micro transactions only should be applied to things that are not base game necessities character creation is a base game necessity that should not be behind a pay wall

Everything is obtainable base game just like in DD1. NOTHING IS REQUIRED TO BUY. Even the char look change one of the first vendors sells it for like 5000 gold. Maybe don't be ignorant.

The others are dropped by enemies or found in chest around the world or quest rewards. Oh and RC is gotten from chests, killing enemies and people using your pawn. So what exact limitation are you talking about????
Another problem with people buying the microtransactions is it incentivises the company to make the game worse, like by putting fast travel access or appearance editing later in the game (unless you pay of course).
I play it on the 5 i love it but it does have frame drops depending on how much is going on but havent crashed yet
my thing about the microtransactions is like, yeah its sad, but it also doesnt affect me in any way and nor do i really care ima just play the game. and if other people wanna buy a bunch of wakestones and stuff then go ahead.

@@lcicada no im well aware i just dont care ive got a lot of time in the first game and ive been playing the second one. they dont decrease the spawn rate of these items to sell more or anything so it has absolutely 0 effect on gameplay if u choose to not buy it. its a company if u expect them to choose integrity over making money then ur view on this topic was skewed from the get go. i will continue enjoying my base playthrough without spending extra money and lose no sleep over those who did.
As a die hard DD1 fan since 2013 this was disappointing. Not the 30 fps, but the choices Capcom made like no inner/outer wear, watered down romance that makes the it great in DD1, poor optimization, list goes on. Guess I’ll just finish up the story and wait for stellar blade

Why are there so many big corpo stans? They exist to do one thing, give customers what they want. If they don't, complain and hold their feet to the fire. If you don't like their practices, make it known. They're not people and you don't owe them anything.
This whole attitude of, “Well you don’t _have_ to pay for the microtransactions.”, is the exact kind of attitude that publishers directly benefit from.
The reason we see all these greedy practices in modern video games is because of tolerance. People _tolerate_ having microtransactions in full priced games. They purchase the game, and they choose to play it in spite of these nickle-and-dime tactics existing within the game, with the game’s store.
What many seem to fail to understand is that _this_ is the cause of the normalization of greed in gaming. They think that just because they’re not overtly supporting a business strategy means they’re not contributing to its normalization, but that’s wrong. By supporting the platform upon which these monetization schemes, you are giving them an environment in which to thrive. And there will be others who come along, see the game being hyped up and talked about by other people, and buy into it themselves. And some of those people will be the type to support the microtransactions.
You have to remember that most of these microtransaction offers are a zero-sum gain for the publisher. It costs them almost nothing to create, and thus even if few people pay for them it will ultimately, _always_ be a profit for them.
They lose nothing by leaving them in the game. It is only when people choose to not support the game itself, when they don’t hand over the $60 or $70 that make up the costs for producing the game, that a publisher will react accordingly. You can’t hurt microtransactions directly, you have to do it through a secondary source, the thing which gives life to and sustains them.
But people won’t do that. They will continue to buy games regardless of whatever scummy business practices they partake in, and they’ll choose to enjoy the game without them. It’s happened with many other games in the past, and it’ll most likely be the case with this game, too.
This is why it’s so easy for other studios to fall into the allure of implementing microtransactions: because history shows that they can get away with it. The same thing applies to other issues people have with modern video games like broken launches. People get outraged over something like Cyberpunk releasing in an unplayable state, but what happens after that? They choose to wait for patches to come and for the game to get fixed, and they buy and play it anyway. It’s the same thing as before, where most customers choose to ignore the problems rather than respond to them.
And this kind of stuff will keep happening, until this kind of attitude dies off and the gaming community takes an _actual_ stance against it.
If there is a compliment I can give to this game is that it made me want to replay Elden ring a modern game that at release ran smoothly for the most part, had no denuvo and didn’t squeeze you for pointless stuff. Yes the game had some bugs and performance issues at release plus the last third of the game is very unbalanced but the same can be said about baldurs gate 3 at release, or even dark souls 1. I am not trying to excuse these shortcomings, I always want companies to do better, but it goes to show how important first impressions are in gaming. My first impression when I see DD2 is that this game is an incomplete mess that is not worth 70 dollars, while my impression day 1 of Elden Ring was that the game is really good and it deserves my 60 dollars and it’s not a surprising when you learn it has sold 23 million copies

I was super hyped for this game since I loved the original but everything im seeing has killed all hype I had with the game.
I’ll just stick with the first one tbh and wait till it’s on sale maybe.
I'm playing it on Xbox Series X and am enjoying it immensely. The FPS issue isn't really a problem from what I've seen as it only gets a little choppy in the capital. The only bad thing I'd say are the Microtransactions, they aren't important nor are they put in your face, as I only found out about them when I saw a video. But idk how bad the performance is on PC. So I'd recommend the game if you have a new console, but I can't recommend it if you play PC.
For me personally its just the first game with new vocations, monsters and graphics.

So they are doing the metal gear survive thing where they make people pay microtransactions for New game Plus and adding new characters
half of this is ether incompetence and greed however there is one mechanic
that is just actually malice that being dragon plague who decides its a fun idea to have a game where you can't load another save until you finish the game and create a curse that kills the entire town after you sleep worst is sleep saves your game so your stuck with a ton of broken quests without any way to undo it
Yeah I was super hyped bought it on Xbox then I saw the microtransaction list then the lack of a new game option,and lost my motivation to play today.
I bet when optimization is a problem, there is most likely DRM on the game, obviously....and here we gamers thought they stopped that since the beginning of XBox One's lifecycle.
I hope the ratings mix in steam scares capcom. I enjoyed the first dragons dogma and I hate to see the franchise ruined like this
Can someone explain why it makes sense to have micro-transactions in online games vs single player? I only get micro-transactions in free to play games honestly.

While i'd love to enjoy the game as much as i loved the first Dragon's Dogma... I'm afraid i can't recomend it at the moment at least, the game itself would be actually really good and enjoyable but the performance on PC are terrible...
keeps crashing each time i try to load a save, the rare times i manage to actually load a save... it crashes a few seconds after.
can't even delete the character (created one quickly just to test some settings) to start over again...
Capcom should have known better... it's unacceptable the state the game is at the moment
I've been playing the game since it came out and honestly its a good game, you dont need to buy the microtransactions for it to be playable, anything you can buy you can get in game by playing, the game is nowhere near as bad on console as it seems to be on PC, plus they've mentioned they're updating to add a new game option
Man its so sad that this game is really fun on console at least but these companies keep just fumbling the bag with their pure greed😢

Controversy apart I'm surprised people aren't complaining how this looks like a carbon copy of the first game which came out more than a decade ago, same animations, same enemies, locations etc
As a big fan of the first I wouldn't pay 70$ for this game, it looks like a remake and a poor one from a technical standpoint, it's ridiculous.

Optimus you did zero research. In game vendors sell for gold char and pawn change. Or RC which is gotten by killing enemies, looting chests, and people using your pawn. You didnt play the game. Everything they sell to you is farmable in game. Just like DD1. You walking by those vendors is your fault. Ignorance abound.
And all the MTX is one time purchase and you cannot rebuy. The wake stones are easily obtained and for purchase. Ferry stones also can be found in chests. Which if you ferry travel everywhere your not going to find. I have 16rn I only use them if ai don't wanna run back for a quest but most quests are On Oxcart travel lines. Aka the in-game fast travel system. Also they are useless until you find and activate the markers. The campsite... You get one for free at the start and find several in the main City.
I get being mad but people are literally just lying now

If they put micro transactions in there, it's a conscious decision made for a financial purpose. The people saying the "DLCs" doesn't matter because they are useless are missing the point. Why are the items there if they have no use?

I think a lot of these “unplayable” remarks from streamers is unwarranted and is going to detract people from experiencing the game. Yes the performance in towns is poor but you don’t HAVE to buy the micro transactions. DD1 only had a single save file and I assume thats because of the pawn system, like it didn’t stop me from enjoying the original its not going to stop me now. I only got to play for a few hours yesterday but absolutely loved everything so far with the combat, monsters, and world. By all means dunk on capcom for being greedy, but don’t let that take away from enjoying the game.

I’m going to be totally totally honest with y’all .. I’m loving the game 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️lol idk maybe I got a special type of ps5 or my tv is just on some Marty Mcfly type energy but (knock on wood) it’s been great and the game itself is definitely 10/10
