I agree with this guy. Libraries are cool. I used to basically “live” in a library. It’s quiet, peaceful, relaxing to read in. I admit I was kinda obsessed back then but it’s still something I enjoy. But this right here is EXACTLY why I hate internet freaks. Unnecessary problems made against someone who actually has a life being dragged down to the level of idiots who think spending time on social media rudely judging people and belittling them is more normal. I used to love to read. I need to get back into it.
Used to read quite a bit myself. Been getting back into it lately starting with one of my favorite series', that being Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series. I'm a bit old for it now, but I still enjoy it
This is a big reason why people overall have stopped helping their communities. Cause at the end of the day they will just attacked and ridiculed. So congrats to all the people who attack genuinely good people you are helping ruin society more than it already is.
Worst thing is they're too dumb to realize it. We don't teach philosophy anymore, it's all about useless topics to help you bend the knee to corporations and the grind.

Working at a library has changed my outlook on this stuff. He was literally passionate about his job and we need more people like him. Actually, almost all library workers are passionate about reading and getting others in the community (especially children) to read more or just hang out at the library for other reasons. This is why literacy is dying and libraries are closing. It’s so unfortunate this happened to him when he just wanted people to do better.
Thing is that twitter is so focused on their hive mind mentality that anytime they see someone who has found their way in life while they have a miserable one it makes them petty and angry and they all lash out collectively. Twitter and tiktok being deleted would honestly save society

And absolutely heartbreaking that people bullied him for it.
Even after getting bullied he still made the mature choice and kept his composure. Very admirable quality
As someone who owns a bookstore, this just breaks my heart and my brain.
You would think I wouldn't want people to use the library but that is far from the truth. If people have no access to reading materials and develop no love of reading they certainly won't come in my store.
I want people to read. It makes my family and I so happy to see people enjoying themselves reading at all ages. We love talking about our favorite books. Heck if we don't have a book we will check the library to see if they have a copy available. We would rather, and I know I speak for my family members as well, tell someone to go to the library to find a book we don't have or can't get than try to block them off.
This is just another case of rewarding ignorance.
This is like bullying some dude who is a volunteer band instructor for kids at the community center for having a unique personality. Like, people who are really into libraries or band are going to have a different personality than the rest of us.

These situations are terrifying to me. Because as a guy with autism i'm scared that my behaviour is gonna get ridiculed and mocked to the point i've to give up my passions and live a more unfulfilled live. If they're going after this guy, they're going after everyone.
I don't have autism but I have experienced what you fear as a kid. It all happened offline (no socmed in the '90s to early 2000s), but it was still terrible.
On the other hand, thanks to ppl with huge hearts - mostly from the Internet, no less - I've since recovered my old passions and childhood enthusiasm. I realized my inner child never died, he just needs a lot of healing. So yeah, there are good ppl out there.
Think about this though, if they do ever target you you will have defenders and it will pass. They're piranhas. Once they've eaten their fill they'll move on and forget you. You just have to keep your head up and keep going. They're nothing.

I'm autistic too and I did get bullied quite a bit when I was younger for being different but I was fortunate to get involved in Mixed martial arts as a teenager and that kinda died down. My concern though, being someone who has experienced bullying, is that other people won't handle it so well, the self deletion rate for autistic people is EXTREMELY high, so high that it's almost unbelievable, I wish more people were aware of what exactly autism is because the average person just thinks you're a normal person who's acting weird.

Can't believe that people get attacked for reading in libraries and helping the community. Apparently people haven't grew out of their high school years where they call other people nerds. I feel that this phenomena tends to occur with people that are more intelligent than the average curve. As I’ve been in my. Furthermore, people truly are afraid of breaking the status quo.
It is pretty sad that stupidity is seen as being cool and intelligence isn't. At this point can humanity really claim to be any smarter than chimps as a species?
Those are immutable traits though then, you shouldn't hold it against them for being feeble minded according to you.

libraries are the most valuable places to learn, and I would go out on a limb and say that they are better than most schools at this point. Records and novels share the same home, in libraries. If that isn't valuable I don't know what is. Imagine never having access to information that can impart wisdom and knowledge beyond what a search engine will give you. No more different views and struggles that can only be learned about from books. This would crush society to be little more than a means of labor for the puppet masters. No more free will or right to choose. No more lessons learned from the mistakes of those who came before you. No more ability to impart your wisdom on the ones who will inevitably follow, long after you are forgotten. public access to knowledge is necessary to the growth of mankind and the betterment of society. after all, only illiterate people will be complicit in the lack of knowledge and understanding of all that is going on around them. this man has a passion for books and while I would never say definitively that he is all good or all bad, I can say that the passion for knowledge and wisdom has declined lately. we need more people that are passionate about these things and do everything in their power to pass that passion on so that humanity never becomes complicit in ignorance.

That's the criticism (bullying) you get for having a quiet, fullfiling and soul comforting life
Poor guy imagine being bullied so hard you have to take a break from the job you love
They're seriously trying to clown this guy???? Bro how sad does your life have to be to go out of your way to tease somebody like that
Welcome to Clown Planet, ladies and gentlemen.
Can we leave yet?
as someone with autism this genuinely pained me to watch. this guy didnt deserve this
Dude seem so chill ~ y they bullying him????
N library save me when I need to print - when I ain’t have a laptop- when I was locked out my house LIBRARY CAME N CLUTCHHHHHHH
I feel really bad for the guy. I truly hope and pray that he is able to happily return to the position that he loves so much. The fact that people would say those things to him shows how sad and pathetic a lot of our young population is.
New Mr Rogers just dropped.
Salute to this legend in the making!
13:32 so unfathomably real
To paraphrase Patchy the Pirate, "That's it!? Its just a guy encouraging people to read!!"
Don't tell people you're homeschooled, unless you are anonymous.
'Normal'? In the internet?
In the internet these mfs want to tell other people what's normal?
It's a good thing to develop coping mechanisms for being bullied online in this day and age. Words don't hurt you. It's your perception of it that does. There will always be people who dislike you even if you haven't done anything to them. Trying to be a people pleaser is a weakness.
I am friends with a librarian and can confirm, they just talk like this. You're supposed to keep your voice down in the library because people are reading or working. It's not a gym, it's not outdoors - it's an inside voice; the same you'd use in other institutions like banks and museums and doctor's offices. Librarians have a friendly, open demeanor and my friend acts this way with all patrons. Some people have never been the library, or taught how to be social and it shows.
There was a Smash bros tournament at my local library a few years back was one of the best memories I have
Misery loves company
Yeah what dude just seems chill, is this the point we're at where we just clown on anyone huh?
We are at an absolute low point in our society if positivity and someone being happy in their life is seen as cringe
Guy is lucky to truly find a job that he loves to do. That's so rare.
People who clown on others for no real reason are always the most insecure and sad individuals.
Having fun isn’t hard, when you’ve got a library card. I’m sorry I couldn’t resist.
I used to spend a lot of time in the library in college. I’d study there, take exams there, started a business in that library. I should go to the library again.
