    Only gripe about the GT-1 was not knowing how to assign >1 effects to the CTL1. Been using it like that for more than a year! But thank you so much for your video. Now I know how to do itttttt!

    I have delay on ctl1. Assigned reverb to ctl1 button using A1. Assign did not work. What might be the reason. I know about sw on/off and toggle mode.

      @Ronny A.C Beddeleem -
      Thank you, I'm so very glad that you like my video!
      I'll make more videos on the GT-1 soon, don't worry :-)
      The GT-1 can be overwhelming at times, but use a good amount of time to really get to know the unit.
      I've had mine for a couple of weeks now and I've gotten great tones too - I'm really impressed!
      I plan on using mine when I play with the band too :-D
      If you should have a request, then please let me know.
      Have a good one, my friend! :-)

    Hi, and thanks so much for the demonstrations, they are great ! I'm wondering why the lights on my fs7 don't light up to indicate that it is being used. Also, I was going to use the fs7 to scroll through patches but I've found the DOWN and UP switches can not do as much as the Ctl 2 and Ctl 3, is this correct ?. Thanks for your help.

      Hey there, Mark Oats 😊
      Thanks for your comment, and kind words, it's much appreciated!
      There might be two reasons for your FS-7 not to light up, indicating that it's in use... One might be if you haven't connected a power supply to the FS-7's power plug.
      Another reason might be because of the way it's being used/set-up. I have a dedicated video for that, so check that out - I'm sure it will help you - link here: ua-cam.com/video/ckyaXfCBg8c/v-deo.html
      Exactly, you are correct. The UP and DOWN footswitches are dedicated to only doing UP and DOWN.. They can't be assigned, like the FS-7 can = CTL2 and CTL3.
      CTL2 and CTL3 are assignable, and they can control and activate all sorts of effects and parameters.
      I use that a lot, and it's great! I have several videos about that 😊
      Let me know it it solves the problem 😊
      Thanks & Cheers.

    Thanks for the really good video. I would like to suggest that in a video you could be more specific about how many things that you can assign to a single control button. For instance can you make 3or4 things come one at the same time in one stomp. You did mention of your controller but I felt it was a little unclear if you are assigning these things to happen on different buttons or on one button that you step on it. I also feel us screenshot of the GT with the controller plugged in will also help. This is just a suggestion and I will say you really have done a fantastic job. I just want to say for me user standpoint questions arise as you're going through your tutorial about this controller especially for people who aren't familiar with an external pedal situation. Thanks

      Hey there, ChoatMusic :-)
      Thanks for your comment - I appreciate it!
      I'm very pleased that you found my video helpful - thanks!
      Oh, alright. I see that - I just thought I made that clear in this video, but alright - thanks! :-)
      Let me be a little more specific here then:
      Yes, you can indeed make 3 or 4 things come on at the same time with one footswitch/one stomp. Remember, you have a total of 6 assigns available, so basically you could have a total of 6 effects/parameters to be turned on at the same time, with pressing one stomp!
      For most of my patches I will assign different effects/parameters to different footswitches - for example, overdrive and delay to the CTL1 footswitch, then chorus and compression to the external footswitch on my Boss FS-7 footswitch and then a solo boost on the second part of the FS-7 footswitch.
      The external footswitch should be connected to the CTL 2,3 jack on the back side of the GT-1.
      Thanks, man, I appreciate your kind words!
      I see, thanks for clearing that up for me - I like that!
      Let me know if you need any further help, or have further questions, I'll be happy to help out further.
      Best regards.

    Hi again. Im having a problem when using CTL1 to switch a type of effect but keeping it ON for both CTL1 positions. IF I follow your video, in the part to swap Pre-Amps I end up with CTL1 changing from Clean Twin to MS1959 but even though pressing CTL1 will make the change from one type of preamp to the next it also toggles ON/OFF so I end up with Clean Twin ON when CTL1 is Blue and MS1959 but OFF when CTL1 is Red. Did I explained that OK? IS quite annoying. Tried many times with different effects but can't make it just swap the Type and keeping ON all the time. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance

      Hi there.
      I'm very sorry for the late reply, I've been behind on answering comments...
      I believe we solved this in the comment on another one of my videos, but here's the reply again.
      The EXP2 can only be assigned to Volume, if you adjust it in its menu in the Signal Chain. However, you can set up other Assigns (A1 through A6) where you can use the EXP2 as well.
      In this case, if you don't mind, I would probably set up EXP1 to do the Wah and then EXP2 to do the Volume.
      Start by setting up the EXP2 to only do volume, like this:
      Press Memory Edit, then use Knob 1 to scroll through the Signal Chain, and then find EXP2, then press Enter. Set its FUNCTION from OFF to FOOT VOL, and that's all good.
      Next, press Exit to exit the EXP2 menu. Then scroll back a little, until you see EXP1, then press Enter. Then change its FUNCTION from PDL FX/VOL to PDL FX.
      Make sure to save your adjustments.
      I hope this helps.
      Let me know if you need anything else.
      Best regards.

    I might have found the answer to my own question: The way I was doing the Pre-Amp swap was actually setting CTL1 to Pre-Amp BUT I believe that when you do that the CTL1 function actually changes ON to OFF (or viceversa) while the first assign which is the one doing the actual swap works OK. In your video you dont have this problem since you use CTL1 to turn Off the Chorus while the Pre-amp swap is done in the assign. This is quite a limitation in that if one wants to just swap a parameter, lets say the preamp, keeping it ON at all times and without touching anything else, we have to select any other parameter for CTL1 besides pre-amp. Call it a dummy parameter. Not the ideal solution as I might want to keep everything the same and just press CTL1 to change one type of pre-amp to another. Does this make sense? Do you have a way to do the change I'm trying to make with CTL1? Thanks again

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  6 років тому

      Hey there!
      Seems like you've worked it out :-)
      Yes, I might have another effect/parameter to turn something on/off, but to simply just swap the PREAMP do this:
      Set up the first PREAMP you want to use and start out with - for example, the Clean Twin. Then press the MEMORY-EDIT button and go to the first available assign (A1) - if you use the CT1 icon instead, then you won't have the option to swap the preamps.. The CT1 assign menu is for something that just requires being turned on/off. Use the first available assign (A1) and set up the preamp swap in there. Adjust the ON/OFF parameter to TYPE and have the MINIMUM set to the Clean Twin and the MAXIMUM to the desired preamp you want to swap to :-)
      That should do it.
      Does it make sense? :-)
      Let me know!
      Cheers :-)

      Yes thanks, What i’m after is when i go from one patch to the next it comes on with CTL lit RED1st vs the patch blue 1st... the when CTL 1 pressed it goes to Red. How do adjust the patch to make it blue first....hope that makes sense...thanks for your excellent and helpful videos!

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  5 років тому

      @@marknlulu0304 - Hey there!
      Aah thanks, I get it now! 😊
      When the CTL1 footswitch is blue, then it means there's no assign in use - and when the CTL1 footswitch is red, then it means there's an assign active. So when the CTL1 is blue on your one patch, then turns red, when changing to another, then it means you have an assign turned on, on that patch. If you want to make the CTL blue, then you would have to press the MEMORY-EDIT button and scroll the the CT1-icon and press ENTER. Then you should be able to see what assign/effect is active. You should also check the other assigns - Assign 1 to Assign 6 - since it could also be one of those who are activated on the CTL1.
      I hope that makes sense...
      An easier way to do it, if you don't mind setting up your patch from scratch, would be to Initialize the patch. Initializing a patch means that you clear it completely, so you're able to start from scratch. You can do that by pressing both the ENTER and EXIT buttuns and press WRITE on the INIT-icon.
      I'm sorry if this seems confusing, but let me know if there's something you need explained.
      We can easily work this out.
      Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it!
      Looking forward to hear from you.
      Cheers.

    Hi... thanks for the video. I just picked up a GT-1 and can't figure out how to assign effects to the built-in expression pedal. For instance, I want the pedal to control OD gain so I can do a gain swell effect. I have had this set up on previous pedals I owned but can't figure out how to do it on the GT-1. Any help is appreciated.

      Hi Drybonz99.
      Thanks for watching, I'm glad that you liked the video!
      Okay, I get that, and I tried it yesterday, it is possible! :-)
      Here's what you'll have to do:
      1. Press the "Memory Edit" botton.
      2. Scroll until you find "EX1" - Press ENTER.
      3. Make sure that the "EX1" setting is set to "PDL FX/FV".
      4. Press "EXIT" and go back to the signal chain.
      5. Scroll to "A1" (assign 1) and turn the assign on.
      6. Set the "SOURCE" to "EXP1"
      7. Set the "MODE" to MOMENT
      8. Press ENTER and select the "CATEGORY" you want to control with the EXP1 (OD/DS).
      9. Set the "TARGET" to "DRIVE".
      By doing that you'll be able to control the Drive going from 0 to 120 :-)
      Hope that helps! :-)
      Cheers!

      Thanks for the help. I appreciate it. I followed those steps, but for some reason it doesn't activate my pedal. The pedal fx light next to the expression pedal doesn't come on. There doesn't seem to be a foot activated switch... how do I get the pedal to activate?

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  7 років тому

      Oh, okay. Well when I did the steps I shared with you, then I didn't activate the expression pedal light either.
      Do you need the light to come on??
      Because if you go into the OD/DS block on the GT-1, then you should be able to see the drive/gain go from 0 to 120, as you move the pedal back and forth :-)

    • @Drybonz99
      @Drybonz99 7 років тому

      Ah ok... I had a misconception about how it was supposed to work. It is working fine, as you say... it looks like you just have to make a new patch and leave the pedal on. If I try to turn the pedal off and on withe the ctrl 1 it just turns on the wah... so say I have my OD set where I want it, if I use the pedal for swells, then there is no way to go back to my default setting for the OD without switching patches, that I can see. Thanks again for your help... I'm getting it figured out.

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  7 років тому +1

      Alright, I'm glad that it's working for you now! :-)
      Oh yeah, it will be difficult to get back to the default setting on your OD, when you've used the PDL for swells.. Maybe you could make another assign, either for the CTL1, CLT2 or CLT3, to press that, when you want to go back to your default OD setting(s). Maybe that could work out. Experiment with it - it's great fun!
      You're very welcome - I'll be happy to help out again, if you need it! Just let me know! :-)

      Hi there :-)
      Thank you, I'm glad that you liked my video!
      Good question! Well, I will highly recommend the GT-1 because you have a lot more switching and assign control to make use of. With the GT-1 you can use the CTL1 to assign different effects and control them - and if one CTL isn't enough, then you can connect the FS-6 or FS-7 to assign even more effects and parameters.
      The sound quality of the GT-1 is phenomenal and really can't be beaten by any other multi effect out there.
      The effects are great, and there's a lot to choose from, and the built-in amps and cabs are just as great!
      I use those all the time - it makes everything so much easier! :-)
      The GT-1 is the answer - good luck :-)

      Assigns A1 to A6 can be assigned to CTL1, CTL2, CTL3, Expression Pedal and Expression Pedal Switch, so it all depends on what the SOURCE parameter is set to. The SOURCE parameter determines which footswitch the Assign or Assigns are activated by.
