Why would anyone disliked this? I don't have the GT1 but watching your video, now I'm tempted to buy one.

      You're the man, Jake's Media! :-)
Thank you very much for your kind words!
It's not bad being able to put such impact across in my video - yay!
You should really get one, it's a great piece of gear and the tones are right on the spot!
      Thanks again, Jake!
      Have a great weekend & cheers :-)

why? the device is not the problem. the problem is this:
"I got a new cool device for guitar-recording" ====> NORMAL
HE ===> "yeh.... ehhhhhh....mmmh....i got...ehhhhhhhmmm. yeah.... a new... ehhhm..... ehhhhm ...yeah coool eeeeehm.... device......yeah... ehhhhhhm for.... eeeeeehmmm.... guitar... eeeeeeeeeeehm eeeeeeeeehm... yeah...eeeeeeeeeeehm....mmmmmmmmmmmeeehh.... eeeeeeeeeehmmm.... recor.... EEEEEEEH!!!! EEEEEHH!!! CORDING"
No offensive... sorry but this is horrible to watch and have to stop... that makes me angry cause i would like to know more about my own device.. -__-"

nofi4, I really don't see the need for your tone in this case... I'm doing these videos because they help out people and because I enjoy it.
If you feel that my videos are not helping, then send me an email, perhaps I can be of better assistance there..

I just bought the GT-1 and before I did I watched a few of your videos. I am thinking this old school single pedal guy may have finally found a muklti-effects I can understand. Thank you for your awesome videos. I noticed on your UA-cam page DOZENS of tutorials for this device... wow. That is partly what sold me on this unit. -- Usually when I go to UA-cam about some device, its a REVIEW DEMO, not a tutorial. They go quick thru "this pedal does this, and this pedal does that" and never slow down and show you HOW. -- You've really made my day. I am 60 years old and have been playinf guiutar for over 40 years and I'm just not from the tech-pedal generation. Plus, I hate reading, of the 4 types pof learning humans do (text reading, demnonstration, lecture, etc) watching someone do it is the way I learn. I can't learn by sitting down with a "War and Peace" sized manual... forget it... I'll be sleeping in 3 minutes. Exactly why you'll probably never see me plugged in to a Line 6 anything. I wasn't born in a generation where the baby pops out of the womb with a cell phone attached to their head... We had rotary phone, then push button phones came along and it was the biggest thing since sliced bread. I was born in 1962... so I was 22 years old when they produced the first Apple home computer in 1984... And at about $5,000 in 1984 dollars or so, I couldn't possibly afford one. -- You have given me some of the best TUTORIALS I have ever seen on any device. God bless you for your efforts of all these excellent GT-1 tutorials. I've yet to see any multi effect with so many... Have a great day, you deserve it.

      Hi there, James.
I'm very sorry for the late reply, I've been behind on answering comments...
Thank you for your comment and kind words, they are greatly appreciated!
I'm so happy to hear your story, and you made a great choice of going with the GT-1.
You're right, there are many reviews for this unit out on UA-cam... I skipped that part, and went straight for the tutorials, as I figured that's what people needed.
I agree, it's always better to see how people do, for example through a video, and then try it out yourself.
I hear you, too much tech right from the birth... it hasn't really done us any good, if we think about our younger generations...
James, thank you, your kind words mean the world to me! You've just made my day, today!
God bless you too and stay safe!
      Best regards!

After buying my GT-1 over a year ago, I'm back. My initial reaction was one of cranial overload and confusion.
I've spent the past year learning what pedals actual do, buying a few, and getting my skill levels up.
Hauling my GT-1 out of the box, this now makes sense. I'm so glad I saved your videos to a directory.
I'm also so glad I didn't sell the GT-1 and buy too many pedals as I had no real idea at the time of the power of this little unit

Thank you for a very informative and easy to follow video. I am a 69 year old guitarist (playing since the age of 15) and I have been looking for a replacement for my rack-mounted old PodPro, and your video has finally convinced me to go with the Boss GT 1. I already have a Boss RC 3 loop station which I love, so I am already a believer in Boss products.

This video is excellent , the ability to assign functions to the CTL pedal and external CTL pedals makes it really adaptable . I think the pre amp sounds are very good from what I have heard on youtube demos, and have seen people play live gigs on here with them . I am definitely replacing my me 70 with one in the very very near future. Thank you for your video

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  6 років тому +1

Hey again, The Atomic Punk :-)
      Thanks for your comment!
The assigns, and the possibilities they offer, are why I've been using Boss multi effects for years!
I haven't, yet, found anything that comes close!
Having the CTL1 onboard, and the option to add the FS-7, just gives that extra to it all!
Easy to program and easy to navigate through, epsecially on stage!
Also, the FS-7 won't run out of battery, like the old FS-6 would, hehe.
The preamps and cabinets are great, really! I use the GT-1 live, through the PA, and the sound is great!
I've been giggin' live with the GT-1 ever since I got it, back when it first came out! I've never looked back ;-)
Good choice, I think you'll be very happy with that decision.
You're more than welcome - any time!

@@GuitarNTabs yes ok I have one.
so now is see your other video comparison of the Gt 1000 core.
      I have a question,
so I see I can assign Ct1 2 and 3 but only have FX1 and 2 , does the core allow Fx 1 2 3 4 etc, in one patch if there is a desire to do something like Clean 12 string with chorus , to a distortion lead with octave and compression
to do that on Gt 1 in one patch there would have to be an FX 3 for more modulation options

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  2 роки тому

      @@johnmcminn9455 - Hi!
The GT-1 is limited to only 2 FX slots (FX1 and FX2) so it's a bit harder to get that to work.
However, you can always switch between effects within FX1 and FX2, by using the Assigns.
For example, you could start out with the FX1 being the Acoustic Simulator and FX2 chorus, then set up assigns to change the Acoustic Simulator to Compressor and the Chorus to Octave, when you switch parts for the song, play, etc. That's a way to go about it, with the GT-1.
The GT-1000Core has a lot more, in regards to FX slots, so it's able to be a bit more complex and allow for more complex signal/effect routing.
      I hope this helps.
      Cheers.

@@GuitarNTabs thanks a lot! That is a good suggestion .
I have an HX Stomp, by using the GT-1 I am becoming less afraid of it!
I d k if the Gt 1000 core is similar with the foot switches, the Hx has a sensitivity for the buttons where as if you brush against one, it will go to a different function, I turned the sensitivity off. I actually thought the HX had a virus.

Thanks for your comment and kind words - I appreciate it.
I'm sorry if this video gave you the wrong impression.. the GT-1 isn't hard at all to navigate, trust me.
I've owned the GT-1 since it first came out, and it's truly an amazing piece of gear. I mainly use it direct to either my studio monitors, or to my band's PA, when playing live. I therefore use both the onboard effects and preamps/cabinets - they are splendid!
Of course there's always a learning-curve, but the Manual is of help, and if you decide to get one, then I'd be more than happy to assist you as well - you just let me know 😊

I have a Digitech unit from like 20 years ago at least, that is very similar to this. I stopped using it because like this one, you almost need an engineering degree to know how to use it. I recently started using it again for something different, and its still just as hard to use, but there are some great tones to be found there. I hesitate to buy this one even though it looks like a great value, due to the complexity. But for those that have the time and patience, it looks great.

      Cheers, Chris!
Thanks, man! I truly appreciate the kind words!
Hmm, I actually don't think so.. Atleast not right off the bat.. Anyway, I can easily explain it here :-)
Generally, when I need a lead/solo boost, and I already have an OD/DS pedal activated, I will simply assign one of the CTL footswitches to activate the OD SOLO-assign. What that will do is to give the activated OD/DS a boost in volume, a tiny bit gain and also a frequency boost. I use that ALL THE TIME, and I haven't found another feature that works better. It's simple to set up, easy to use and you're going to cut right through - it's as simple as that, really :-)
Of course you could also fiddle around with the different EQ-parameters, but why do that, when the OD SOLO-feature is so much easier, and even better? :-)
If you have an overdriven/distorted preamp activated as well, if you use one of the onboard preamps, then you can assign the PrA SOLO features, which will do the same thing as the OD/DS-SOLO, just for the activated preamp :-)
The good people at Boos/Roland really thought this through - I really like it! :-)
I hope this answers your question, but you're always welcome to ask further questions :-)
      Have a great one, mate.
      Cheers.

Hey there, The Atomic Punk :-)
Thanks for your comment and the kind words - I appreciate it!
I just think it's so important to know about the assigns, and what they can really do, because they will enable so much and make things much easier. :-)
I would highly recommend getting the GT-1, without a doubt. The effects are superb and the preamps and cabinets are awesome! There're loads to choose from!
I use the GT-1 through the PA, and my studio monitors, and they quality is excellent, and it stays the same, every time!
      That's what I like about a set-up like this - it's consistent!
I really like the Clean Twin preamp model, with the 2x12 cabinet option - man, that's great for some clean stuff and even with the T-Scream overdrive infront! Add some reverb and delay to that, and you're in solo heaven!
Let me know how it all goes, and feel free to get in touch, if you need anything!

GuitarNTabs, when using the GT-1 through the PA at gigs, do you find yourself having to tweak the settings on your patches from venue to venue? I play some outdoor venues, then some smaller venues, and I'm finding that I have to constantly tweak my patches depending on the venue. But note, I am running the GT-1 through the front of the amp and not the FX loop or PA.

Sure, that can easily be done. Simply press the Memory Edit button, scroll to the end of the chain, find the CT2 and CT3 menus, and change their function.
Then head to the PREF menu by pressing the MENU button, and set the function for the CT2 and CT3 to SYSTEM, instead of PATCH. Now this will enable the CT2 and CT3 to be scrolling your patches on all presets.

      Hi there.
I'm very sorry for the late reply, I've been behind on answering comments...
I believe we answered this question on one of my other videos, but here's the reply again.
The EXP2 can only be assigned to Volume, if you adjust it in its menu in the Signal Chain. However, you can set up other Assigns (A1 through A6) where you can use the EXP2 as well.
In this case, if you don't mind, I would probably set up EXP1 to do the Wah and then EXP2 to do the Volume.
Start by setting up the EXP2 to only do volume, like this:
Press Memory Edit, then use Knob 1 to scroll through the Signal Chain, and then find EXP2, then press Enter. Set its FUNCTION from OFF to FOOT VOL, and that's all good.
Next, press Exit to exit the EXP2 menu. Then scroll back a little, until you see EXP1, then press Enter. Then change its FUNCTION from PDL FX/VOL to PDL FX.
Make sure to save your adjustments.
      I hope this helps.
Let me know if you need anything else.
      Best regards.

may I ask why you use Cubase 5?
I was using 8 then I bought 10 and found some of the features like studio EQ and a scrolling function in the event window were no longer there.
fortunately Steinberg allows you to down load previous versions so if you buy 10 you could unlock 5 from their library if you wish.

      Hi again, Marc.
      Merry Christmas.
Congratulations, you're gonna love this unit! I'd be of any help, if you need it, just let me know.
You can change the global settings for the CTL. By default it's set per patch, so you can set up different CTLs and assigns on each patch. If you change the function to "System" it will be the same CTL/assigns on every patch.
The great thing about the assigns, when set to "patch", are the possibility of having different settings on each patch.
I hope this helps and makes sense.
      Best regards.

Troubleshooting tip: For those having problems using an external switch in terms of having to press twice for activating/deactivating effect, you simply got to switch the Source Mode from Toggle to Moment (most easy in the App/program on your PC or Mac)

@@tonycamara5576 - Try starting over, and apply the assigns once again. It should only be a matter of setting up the assigns for the CTL1.

nice content and i have the GT1, i m using it as stand alone using garage band and audio interface. Do you know any link which i can set, example playing music using backing track with P03 Natural Clean and i want to change to P35 Power Drive and change again to P57 Chorus Lead. Is there any shortcut where i can just press a switch to any of those Preset Patch List rather without interuppting my play. Or please advice me. Thanks

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  7 місяців тому +1

      Hi!
Patches can not be assigned, so the only way to toggle between those specific patches would be to have them arranged right after each other, or like this:
Natural Clean - Power Drive and Chorus Lead. This can be done by saving each patch to a desired location, right after each other, for example, U3, U4 and U5.
This would be the easiest way.
Another way would be to creat those patches within ONE single patch, using the GT-1's Assigns, but this is slightly harder, bit I'm sure it can be done, using the same parameters of those 3 patches.
      I hope this helps.
      Cheers.

Would like to know the settings for Fender Mustang LT25 speaker while connecting with GT1. Setting sounds different than with the headphone on maybe due to effects that is inbuilt the speaker? even after disabling the effects and twin reverb selected .

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  2 роки тому +1

      Hi there.
Thanks for your comment and question.
First of all, you need to decide how you want to use the GT-1 with your Fender amp.
Since your Fender amp is a modeling amp, which also includes effects, it's important to get the GT-1 placed and incorporated properly.
If you want to use the GT-1 for its effects only, then connect it to your amp's front input, and make sure to turn the GT-1's preamp-button OFF. Then dial in your Fender amp to sound like you want it to, and add remaining effects from the GT-1.
Set the Output Select to Small Amp or Combo Amp.
If you want to use the GT-1 for both its effects and preamp types, then you could connect through the Fender amp's AUX input. This will disable the preamp section of your Fender amp, only leaving the speaker to output the signal. You can then use the GT-1 for both its effects and preamp types, but you should probably turn off the GT-1's speaker type.
Set the Output Select to Combo Amp Return or Line/Phones.
      I hope this helps.
      Cheers.

      Hello there, Prasenjit.

What you're asking is possible, yes.
You need to press the "memory-edit" button, and find the CT2 and CT3 icons. Press "enter" to enter the menus, for the CT2 and CT3.
In both menus you will have to set the "function" parameter to Number +1 and Number -1 - depending on which footswitch you want to control the +1/-1.

      Hi Night Days,
I don't know what patches you're using, but they might be Factory Presets, where the CTL1 is set to do different things, as an Assign...
