About Life Below Zero:
Life Below Zero follows six people as they battle for the most basic necessities in the state with the lowest population density in the United States. Living at the ends of the world's loneliest roads and subsisting off the rugged Alaskan bush, they battle whiteout snow storms, man-eating carnivores, questionable frozen terrain, and limited resources through a long and bitter winter. Some of them are lone wolves; others have their families beside them. All must overcome despairing odds to brave the wild and survive through to the spring. And when spring arrives in Alaska, rising temperatures bring mounting challenges as they work to prepare for yet another winter.

This doco was fabulous! I’m 50 years old and I have only ever seen snow twice in my life. The sled dog guy needs his own show. He is definitely my favourite. Cheers, from Country Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Love the simplicity, dogs and beautity of nature
Michael, you are legend! Your puppies look like my great Pyrenees. I totally understand what you are doing and why. Fellow vet here. God bless you.
Can they stop with the sound effects? I’m trying to watch a relaxing documentary before bed and the music is giving me a panic attack
Then you gotta watch Meat Eater, super relaxing!
I love my dogs but learned quick not to have them around cutting trees specially with a deaf dog
eating our way to extinction is a good start,, or game changers docu
🐕 DOG Guy: Whoa,Whoa.......
Dog's 🐕: "I Thought You Said........ Go Bo Go!!" 💯🤣🤣
I wish who ever adds the music to the tv episodes would realize the background music is to friggen loud. You can’t hear ppl talking. It drives me crazy
Thank you for the full episode of Alaska Next Generation. Thanks a lot.
GREAT idea to have a
Solid lil shelter, 1/2 way thru
to Trappin' \ hunting ground. AWESOME.
Seriously curious: why not build a very large kennel where all the dogs could sleep together, and then instead of chaining them, enclose the area with a fence?
WORD!
I’m not absolutely certain about this, but I think the reason they don’t want the dogs all in one kennel is because they would bond with each other to form one big pack. Then the dogs would fight for leadership of the pack.
Several reasons,.... how would you feed your dogs, they have to be separated, easy to slap together a dog house, most people now use 45 gallon plastic drums ....and disease would spread easier if your dogs were altogether. Dogs get injured when they play with other dogs or in this case they would fighting, these dogs are escape artists they will dig to china to get under a fence, leave a gate open and you lose all your dogs. A very large kennel would cost lots of money ....These dogs can handle outside temps no matter how cold it gets, some don't even use their houses, they just lay out in the snow and let it bury them....
YES THANK YOU FOR SAYING SOMETHING
If they werent working dogs that might be a good idea, but not in this case, that would be detrimental
20 degrees isn’t too bad.
Celsius or Fahrenheit?
Also keep in mind the sun is out... And this is Alaska, and this could be filmed at an elevation.
Fahrenheit It’s -20 F right now in Nebraska
-45 to -50 windchill here in Minnesota today and tomorrow
That dude should have been gathering firewood for the winter a year and a half ago...not as the winter where he will need the firewood is just arriving.
How do you know he does not "gather" firewood year round or that he was completely out of firewood? People who live in the Alaskan bush and depend upon woodstoves for heat replenish their firewood supplies numerous times yearly.
@@vickimeyers2672 he literally said he was running out of firewood...which is not a thing that should happen as winter is starting.
@@chappy48If he was being truthful about limited firewood, then he'll be up the creek without a paddle if he plans to spend the winter at his cabin/shelter. I noted he was using his chainsaw on trees that were already down. .
thank you for saying
Always the winter before so it is the right dryness... He will learn?
It's amazing of what you do i love your videos thank you for sharing ❤❤❤
Those dogs look very exhausted.
Seclusion is not big deal with good eqps. But try do it without any gas chainsaw and others, just relying on skills.

Merry Christmas 🎀🎄☃️
National Geographic thanks 😊.
JO JO IN VT 💞💨❄️
Nina no!!! Noooooo!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
One expectation you definitely can have is bears. Alaska has 30,000 grizzly bears and they don't all sleep through the entire winter. Having a deaf dog, being preoccupied with trees, those precious children are unfortunately bear bait. 😭
Trust me. Every single one of those folks is packing something. They know better than anyone else.
@braindamaged: Do you live in Alaska? If bears are not hibernating and roaming off grid areas that are inhabited, you can be sure people are made aware, via radio broadcasts, of the bear's presence.
@@vickimeyers2672 Just curious, are you from Alaska or live there currently? I'm from the Midwest but my Dad was stationed in Alaska before it became a state. He LOVES the natural beauty present there.
@@cindytucker3065 I answered your question previously but it got deleted. Yes, I was born in Alaska before it was a state, and my Dad was in the Air Force when I was born. I live in a 1 room cabin in the woods, 45 miles from the nearest city.
@@vickimeyers2672 you were too polite....unless you want some ppl. company. 🌲🐺 Jus sayin'
Crazy on how these people live and survive out there. But yet then we ( fans), try to tell them how to live. .. think they got it covered.
It as beautiful and very informative .

Beautiful dog, 🐕😍

Good boy
i call bs he acts like he never asks for help but anyone who lives in Alaska knows your community is your biggest asset
So why is he different?
@@drizzt8965 one of the first things he says is he doesn't ever ask anyone for help. That's false
@@AliceJaneSyndicate Aahhh I did not catch that.... So this is just entertaing fiction.

Wait a second. Dude got that much gas? For snowmobile and motor current? Wait what?
Nice sunglass qnd gloves and boots!!! Sure thing no modern technology huh?
make a cut on the other side so you don't end up with such an unsightly spike, learn how to cut a tree
We don't care what things LOOK like the off grid.
When you gotta handsaw who cares what it looks like you really gonna waste your time with 3 cuts when it only takes one ..I learned quick when I was younger not to cut trees with dogs specially a deaf dog
Get a bow saw, you can put weight on it with a straight wrist.
eating our way to extinction is a good start,, or game changers docu
So he owns all this property he's cutting trees down on and building on ?
I don't understand how the dog survive on just fish but if ppl lived of just fish they would freeze I was watching meat eater the musk ox episode and the guides were telling stereo they have to dip the fish in seal oil same with the hailstones on life below zero the original
Your body actually requires fat to live…so “fat free” diets are stupid……..lean fish would not, apparently, furnish enough fat to sustain human life
We only see odd hour or so feeding fish they be feeding other stuff these channels are all made up
@@k9six185 Same if you were trying to survive on rabbit.
Some specific differences between dogs and humans include:
* Amino acid requirements, and thus protein requirements,
are different for dogs than for humans. Human adults require
8 essential amino acids, and babies need 9, while adult dogs
require 9 amino acids, and puppies need 10.
* While vitamin C is considered an essential vitamin
in humans because we can't make it and must have it, it's
not considered essential for dogs. They form vitamin C in
their liver.
* Humans need to monitor their cholesterol levels, which
generally rise in proportion to the amount of fat or meat in
the diet. However, although a dog's cholesterol levels can
become abnormally elevated, a meal high in saturated
fats is just what they need.
* Dogs must have meat in their diet to be in optimum health.
A dog's sharp canine teeth are evidence of their need to
tear apart raw meat, and thus their requirement for meat.
Humans, on the other hand can eat a vegetarian diet with
high grain, and maintain optimum health.
* Dogs can't handle as much cereal as humans. One reason
is that humans and dogs differ in the amount of enzymes they
make that are needed to break down carbohydrates. Dogs
have about 80% less enzymes to break down carbohydrates
than people do.
* Dogs can't handle large amounts of fiber, while humans
can. When dogs are fed large quantities of fiber, it can result
in constipation, excessive stool output, decreased nutrient
digestion, and poor visual appearance.

Love this show, 😀❤
Over - dramatized sound effects and Discovery-channel sounding narrator are really taking away from the information itself. It doesn't need it, and did not used to be like that at all. I hate how the sledge dogs are all chained up.
You have dozens of dogs but you use a snowmobile to get wood? Lol
You don't need a shelter half way if your hunting grounds are only 2 hours by foot, you need to build the shelter at your hunting grounds....silly city slickers.
I get too nervous watching his journey, I have to skip to the end.
Senang sekali melihat kontennya Tuhan Yesus berkati 🥰🙏
The life of a sled dog is inhumane 😢

Think they could have added ten times more stupid commercials to this program! More commercials that’s what I need! Right!
I don't disagree that teaching ur children survival is being a responsible parent no matter what climate u live in. However, not allowing them a formal education and social development is going to be EXTREMELY detrimental to anyone that ISNT planning on spending the rest of their lives in almost complete seclusion. If either of those kids decided to venture beyond the boundaries of the Alaskan wilderness they would become the prey of the modern world. That's NOT being a responsible parent. There's middle ground there but most people aren't willing to show their kids that. It's one or the other. Smh why not give children every advantage? That means teaching survival in BOTH worlds.
So you would expect them to pack up and move according to your expectations?
What makes you think someone can’t survive modern society coming from living a life like this? People do and have for a very long time. You may have things backwards. Not educating your children in survival will get them eaten up no matter where they’re from or planning to go.
Look at our current, educated generation preparing to take over. They can’t survive in the city they were raised in. They can barely survive their own thoughts.
Who says they are not very educated are have those teachings? Alot of the kids do end up leaving and I assume for education reasons among others
I agree with learning to navigate both environments. However, I believe it’s an easier transition to go from the woods, into the city.
.... I think you're making a lot of assumptions and you know what they say about people when they assume things LOL, don't take it harshly we've all done it a time or two,....
This show seems so fake, all are actors. I live in Alaska, can easily tell everything about the new show is scripted. The original was legit.
How's the original show called?
Kurdistan Mountain Landscape
Maybe you should stop watching the series
I hate these gambling ads
Mocean, what a joke. worst part of the show.
