    About Life Below Zero:
Life Below Zero follows six people as they battle for the most basic necessities in the state with the lowest population density in the United States. Living at the ends of the world's loneliest roads and subsisting off the rugged Alaskan bush, they battle whiteout snow storms, man-eating carnivores, questionable frozen terrain, and limited resources through a long and bitter winter. Some of them are lone wolves; others have their families beside them. All must overcome despairing odds to brave the wild and survive through to the spring. And when spring arrives in Alaska, rising temperatures bring mounting challenges as they work to prepare for yet another winter.

I’m not absolutely certain about this, but I think the reason they don’t want the dogs all in one kennel is because they would bond with each other to form one big pack. Then the dogs would fight for leadership of the pack.

    • @jedidiah5131
      @jedidiah5131 Рік тому +4

Several reasons,.... how would you feed your dogs, they have to be separated, easy to slap together a dog house, most people now use 45 gallon plastic drums ....and disease would spread easier if your dogs were altogether. Dogs get injured when they play with other dogs or in this case they would fighting, these dogs are escape artists they will dig to china to get under a fence, leave a gate open and you lose all your dogs. A very large kennel would cost lots of money ....These dogs can handle outside temps no matter how cold it gets, some don't even use their houses, they just lay out in the snow and let it bury them....

Some specific differences between dogs and humans include:
      * Amino acid requirements, and thus protein requirements,
are different for dogs than for humans. Human adults require
8 essential amino acids, and babies need 9, while adult dogs
require 9 amino acids, and puppies need 10.
      * While vitamin C is considered an essential vitamin
in humans because we can't make it and must have it, it's
not considered essential for dogs. They form vitamin C in
      their liver.
      * Humans need to monitor their cholesterol levels, which
generally rise in proportion to the amount of fat or meat in
the diet. However, although a dog's cholesterol levels can
become abnormally elevated, a meal high in saturated
fats is just what they need.
      * Dogs must have meat in their diet to be in optimum health.
A dog's sharp canine teeth are evidence of their need to
tear apart raw meat, and thus their requirement for meat.
Humans, on the other hand can eat a vegetarian diet with
high grain, and maintain optimum health.
      * Dogs can't handle as much cereal as humans. One reason
is that humans and dogs differ in the amount of enzymes they
make that are needed to break down carbohydrates. Dogs
have about 80% less enzymes to break down carbohydrates
      than people do.
      * Dogs can't handle large amounts of fiber, while humans
can. When dogs are fed large quantities of fiber, it can result
in constipation, excessive stool output, decreased nutrient
      digestion, and poor visual appearance.

I don't disagree that teaching ur children survival is being a responsible parent no matter what climate u live in. However, not allowing them a formal education and social development is going to be EXTREMELY detrimental to anyone that ISNT planning on spending the rest of their lives in almost complete seclusion. If either of those kids decided to venture beyond the boundaries of the Alaskan wilderness they would become the prey of the modern world. That's NOT being a responsible parent. There's middle ground there but most people aren't willing to show their kids that. It's one or the other. Smh why not give children every advantage? That means teaching survival in BOTH worlds.

What makes you think someone can’t survive modern society coming from living a life like this? People do and have for a very long time. You may have things backwards. Not educating your children in survival will get them eaten up no matter where they’re from or planning to go.
Look at our current, educated generation preparing to take over. They can’t survive in the city they were raised in. They can barely survive their own thoughts.
