Whenever I have a stressful day I know I can go on UA-cam and watch this channel, It really makes me smile with all the memories. It helps make my day a lot better. Thank you for the many years I've gotten to enjoy from your love of nostalgia.
Daniel Shimoda I agree!
I remember watching this on that night. I was 11,and sitting on the stairs quietly watching while my parents were oblivious. Lol
The ABC Sunday Night Movie Theme is always a treat. Whenever I heard that theme as a kid I knew there was a good movie coming on. This theme is at least Top 5 of themes from the 80's burned into my brain. The Kit Kat commercials were great with the growling, bring back good memories. The ABC News Brief Theme is pretty memorable as well. Great upload!!
Heck yeah! I'm so glad we have these memories to look back on.
@@danielshimoda9246 Totally agree with ya. Now if some sort of time machine is ever invented...I know what era I will be going to lol
Wow Newsweek, followed by Bruce Jenner. Both have now gone through irreversible transformations.
I remember these commercials the kit Kat commercial especially"
Didn't recognize Christopher..fun commercial.
I love how ultra-stand-out that "Alien" promo is, aesthetically and stylistically, thanks to the movie itself among the regular pool of early-to-mid 80's US American programming. Really shows just how ahead-of-its-time the movie was and how fresh it still feels 40 years on.
Must of been such a weird night for the viewers, haha. Nothing BAD, just dang. x) Wonder what the edits were like.
I haven't really watched the TV edit in full except for the chestburster scene and a few other parts to see how they handled it, but there's actually not a lot of on-screen violence in Alien. It's mostly implied. The edits were minimal.
@@80sCommercialVault That's really fascinating! Thanks for letting us know. :)
The AMC Eagle hood ornament (I think?) reminds me of Sam the Eagle from the Muppets.
Jordache-for a second i thought that was Nina Blackwood @ 0:03
Alien-Ernie Anderson sold the hell out of that promo("Nothing can prepare you for the horror..of ALIEN!!!")
Nissan-love that knockoff"Eye Of The Tiger"-style music
Tropicana-with Caitlin Jenner's long lost brother Bruce
Greystoke-the name Tarzan was never spoken in this film
Diet Coke-which of the celebs in this ad would later be known for notorious deeds later in life..
Best Kept Secrets-i think the ending of this was spoiled in the previews
Masquerade-"Nice shot.." *retaliates by blowing everyone up*
Whatever happened to meister braü?
Burlington ESP Stretch Denim - Because I've always wanted a pair of pants that could read my thoughts...
And Greystoke, yes that is quite the wordy title. The only other thing that comes to mind that matches it is the Hugh Grant comedy, The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill but Came Down a Mountain.
Ahhh, Sunday, March 25th, 1984. I remember that time well. :-)
“ Best Kept Secrets”, wow so many LONG forgotten TV shows and movies(TV movies? Remember those?) on these old tv commercial videos , oh well they tried...
TV movies are still a thing. They’re just mostly on cable channels.
Would someone pelase run down all of the cameos in the Diet Coke commercial?
Cathy Lee Crosby (?), Robert Klein, not sure of the basketball player, Ahmad Rashad, Neil Sedaka, Vanessa Williams, Jayne Kennedy, Lorenzo Lamas, Shari Belafonte, Cosby and Ted Turner.
The basketball player is "Dr. J" Julius Erving. The football player is Marcus Allen, not Ahmad Rashad. Also, that's Paul Anka at the piano, not Neil Sedaka.
@@80sEric Thank you. Was I right about Cathy Lee?
Yes- that's her. Coincidentally, she was one of the hosts of "That's Incredible!" which is featured in this volume. The run for that series would end one month later on 4/30/84.@@fossefan
The Angry Video Game Nerd hates the Atari 5200.
Miser Lights... The 2 to 1 recommended brand over Cheapskate Lights.
Nissan ST - what the heck did I just watch? Eye of the Tiger meets a ZZ Top video?
Automan becomes a stripper? Say it ain't so!
