Here's a super young actress, Mia Sara in the Canon commercial! ( she starred in the mid 80s movies Legend and Ferris Bueller's Day Off), @ 1:51 - 1:52. Fun fact about her is that she's been married twice and each time she married the son of a very famous man. First husband was Sean Connery's son and second and current husband is Jim Hensen's son! Also @ 1:42 there is the pretty model/actress Susan Walters who was on the soap Loving as "Lorna" in the early 80s and was most noteworthy in the 90s on the famous episode of "Seinfeld" as Jerry's girlfriend that's name he couldn't remember that rhymed with a part of the female anatomy!

My best friend growing up had a Colleco Vision. He was the kind of kid who had the first of everything. Always loved that thing. Have no idea how they got away with selling a device that allowed you to play Atari games on it. You would never see that happening today. That would be like Sony coming out with a device that let you play Switch games on the PS4.

Atari actually tried to sue Coleco over the expansion, but the judge ruled that since Coleco used off the shelf components to build their own version of the 2600 hardware and didn't technically steal anything proprietary, they were within their rights.
The two companies eventually settled out of court and Coleco became a licensee of Atari's patents, resulting in the Coleco Gemini, a more compact clone of the 2600: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coleco_Gemini

1983 was most certainly a bridge year for the decade as the camera commercial demonstrates.
That Dristan tablet belongs in the big box from a few volumes back!
Starflight: The Futuristic Disaster Movie That Tried Too Hard

I love those Colecovision ads. That was my console as a kid. Had the market not taken a nosedive (and Coleco not release their ill-fated computer add-on), it would have been almost unstoppable. Especially since it could play the other major consoles' games with expansions (an Intellivision one was planned but never made it out.)

@Noah Partic I got that. Though I'm disappointed slightly with the game selection.

The Renegades-they wouldnt look out of place in a GTA game
ColecoVision-the "arcade" parts of this ad remind me of that Nightmares segment,"The Bishop Of Battle"..loved that game for CV based off The Sword & The Sorcerer
    Control-kind of a odd last name,"Onderdonk"
Fantasy Island-Lou Rawls a action hero? Missed that episode
Starflight-gotta love those old-school disaster movies that were made for television..liked this one and SST:Disaster In The Sky
Certs-after that cruise, they never saw each other again
The Warriors-liked how Joe Walsh's"In The City" can still be heard after the last end credit and picture fade-out

Heard the _Family Feud_ "clang" sound effect during the "Renegades" commercial at 0:05.

@5:49 - Actress Robin Curtis - She was in the 4th episode of MacGyver "The Gauntlet". She is best known for replacing Kirstie Alley in the role of Vulcan Lieutenant Saavik in the films Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

I'm assuming they played The Warriors as the Friday Night movie in order to hyped up interest in The Renegades tv show? Guess it didn't work out.

I have to agree with you on the ColecoVision graphics looking good for a pre-NES home console, but didn't the console have issues with its controller? Although, at least with the ColecoVision you could plug in an Atari 2600 or Sega Genesis controller to get some games to play properly.

No issues with the Coleco controller, you're probably thinking of the Atari 5200.

The ColecoVision was amazing, and the controllers, while not as good as NES gamepads, were worlds better than the 2600 joystick and Intellivision pad.
