- Sound-Design made by me. The background ambient/track was made with Cecila5 out of my track 死のサーカス (Shi no Sakasu). The video was uploaded by "MetaCitizen" and is an edit of the short story "the running man", appeared in the anime Neo Tokyo (1987). You can watch it here: • Lorn - Sega Sunset
The Video along with Lorns track "Sega Sunset" was my inspiration for my track 死のサーカス (Shi no Sakasu) in the first place. The Title of the track means "circus of death" which is the name of the racetrack in the anime. You can listen to the full album here: 7oi8.bandcamp....

Man, the hand drawn & painted art style from 80's & 90's animations is fucking great. For me the art style in most modern animes feels like it was made with paint & they just applied a few filters over it...

Sure there are animes and auch that are bitch basic but that discredits all the good ones that are floating above them if anything there is usually a shole fucktone of crappy anime/cartoons/movies while there are few good ones that float to the top.

Watch the whole thing, the whole scene is 15 minutes and tells a story that makes this even heavier. He dedicates, and then throws his whole being into crashing through the ceiling of the next level. Recommend this, and the intro story to anyone reaching between and above.

Saw this when I was about 12. It almost seems like a metaphor for life, we run the race as we physically deteriote trying to reach the goal line at any cost....and eventually death
This is still an absolute master class of hand drawn animation all these years later, fucking incredible.

How it feels sitting on the toilet after eating something spicy:
very nice edit, the glass and lights popping was quality and his hands straining at the controls, only way to sharpen it more would be to slow the alarm down just before he busts his helmet as it fades out.
God this is such a good edit, i was looking for the original but now i'm glad i didn't
edit: After going back and watching the original again, i have to say the sound work on this edit is phenomenal. Zach's scream to just the deep hum in the beginning, all of it was perfection.

@@Senor_Penor ah okay got you. It seems like it's pretty rare. I found a copy on Amazon but it was over $300 for it. I'm not that desperate (yet) 😆
Yeah the original is kinda lackluster, all amvs i've seen with this movie are wayy better and that happens with a lot of 90's animes like patlabor or AD police.

This anime short is the closest representation to what F-Zero and its characters are often described like in the lore, which can get surprisingly dark, but it’s never represented in the games and spinoff media except for one obscure novel that has never been translated from Japanese.
I love the camp of F-Zero, don’t get me wrong, but just once, if Nintendo ever decides to finally make a proper new game, I would like to see a version of the series that’s more like this anime short. Maybe if there’s a way they could have it both ways, like making the darker stuff tongue-in-cheek and a parody of edgy media, idk.

I’m pretty sure the concept is that their bodies become the fuel and the point is they die pointlessly racing to no end, it’s called death-racing so that kinda explains itself. It’s in a dystopian cyberpunk type world. It’s so sick
@@oggnatv3308 so i researched this up alittle... Apparently he kills himself on accident using too much of his telekenetic powers when he wins the race by smashing everyone but hallucinates additional racers that arnt really there. He trys to use his telekenesis on his hallucinations but it does nothing to them so he amps up his powers to see if it will affect them but it still does nothing since nothing's actually there causing him to eventually die from overuse. It even shows the ghost racers passing him showing how afraid he is of losing.. Like losing was his biggest fear or something. Its crazy cus he won that race but started hallucinating ghost racers that were faster than him but they were never really there. He's so vaine about racing he even tried to beat his hallucinated opponents. Wtf.. I wish i could watch the whole thing.
