She and many other great artists like Elton John, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd, Kiss, Queen and The Moody Blues were a major part of my childhood.
Olivia Newton-John lived for 30 years after her initial diagnosis of breast cancer. This is a testament to early detection on her part. Please people, get mammograms, prostate exams, & colonoscopies... they can save your lives!
And sometimes just a routine doctor visit over something simple can save your life. I was having a blood pressure issue that wasn’t responding to medication. They sent me to have a scan of my renal arteries to see if the were calcified or whatnot, causing a pressure increase. The scan showed that one of my kidneys was completely overtaken by a cancerous tumor. I had to have the entire kidney removed. I had zero symptoms of cancer, and completely lost an organ to it! Thank God I went in to see about my BP! That was 2.5 years ago. I never had to have radiation or chemo, and I am still cancer free.

When she broke out in the USA in the early 70's, she was primarily known as a country singer. At the time, there was an undercurrent of country fans upset that she was from Australia when she won Country Music Awards. Beautiful person inside and out. Her country stuff is fun but she also covered other artists. I heard her version of "Jolene" long before I knew Dolly Parton wrote it. RIP

Sad to see this lady pass. I always enjoyed listening to her music. I would appreciate it if you would play "You are the one that I want" from The Musical "Grease" co-starring John Travolta. It brings back a lot of fond memories.
Female performers now are extremely vulgar. Olivia was just pure class. Compare this performance to the vulgarity and pornography of Mylie Cyrus, Cardi B, Doja Cat, Niki Minaj and countless others. They’re basically prostitutes now. Olivia was a masterclass in how a female performer should behave. Apart from that, the Crystal clarity of her voice leaves them all in the dust.
I watched Xanadu for the first time in 2008 when I was fifteen. It was the middle of the financial crisis, our family was on the risk of losing our house to foreclosure, my brother had just had a series of surgeries and still despite everything I remember spending that summer at home watching Xanadu when it came on one of the channels on TV. I remember my mother warned me about how cheesy the movie and the plot were, but the musical numbers were phenomenal. Now every time I hear Magic by ONJ I think back to that moment in 2008 watching it at home with my mother and bonding over it. This has since become my favorite ONJ song and I'm devastated to find she's gone, but considering she fought cancer for almost 30 years is crazy. I'm just glad she's not in pain anymore and I thank her for all the wonderful memories over the years. I'm sure many of you will share similar stories on what ONJ meant to you as well! Thanks Jamel! RIP
Olivia was magnificent! So proud of her and one of Australia’s natural talents...no wonder they were jealous 😁RIP star!!!
I was so surprised at her catalouge. It was really good. I’m in my 20s. One of my older roommates told me she was like Madonna before Madonna. I was like what? But this was a shock and really good. I just know from tv shows and grease. I didn’t realize she did all that dance pop during her time.
@@rvegas81 Maybe like Madonna in popularity, but a huge difference when it comes to class. I like Madonna, but Olivia always had class, even when she sang "sexy" songs!
That cover of Jolene blew my mind!
@@melissadambro8873 So true. Olivia came across as more pure of heart and classy. Madonna was kind of...how should I say it....slutty..wearing her Boy Toy belt buckle and such.
This woman was straight 100% 🔥. It doesn't get any sexier than this performance. And she was a super sweet human.
Jamal, this is probably my favorite ONJ song. I saw Xanadu when it came out, and the reviews were rather lukewarm, but the music did very well. Electric Light Orchestra also contributed to the soundtrack.
Wow, what a beauty! And a fantastic voice, and such a sad loss.
RIP Olivia Newton-John! 🤍🕊
Fantastic reaction!
It's been years since I've seen a live performance of this song. Back in the 80s she had an HBO live concert special. And this song was one of the ones she sang. This is one of my many favorite songs of hers. And one of my favorite songs on the "Xanadu"(pronounced Zanadu) soundtrack.
Thank you so much for the amazing Olivia Newton-John tribute reaction. 😊
She did so much for the world. She was not just a singer . i grew up on her and I freaking cried when I found out Im 47 years old man! Man She was a Icon in so many way. Sold over 100 million records!. Going to be miss by so many. John Travolta is very hurting from what I read! They have been best friends for 45 years!
RIP Olivia!! She was such a sweetheart. Never a hint of scandal for all those years. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018, and she has been an inspiration.
Actually diagnosed first in 1993. Been publicly fighting it ever since.
@@007ndc I guess I wasn't very clear in my comment but I meant that I was diagnosed in 2018. Sorry
Jamal this is another reason my wife and I love our channel. You are a great example of humanity, compassion and love. The music brings us all together.
So glad to see you paying her respects. I fell in love with her as a kid, as so many of my generation did. She was magical and a truly beautiful person, inside and out. The world is a bit dimmer without her.
Elvis said she had one of the greatest voices ever. He was absolutely right !
Very few celebrities/entertainers have affected me like Olivia's passing. I grew up listening to her. Magic is my favorite song from hers of all time. We lost an amazing human being. Thanks for this reaction and tribute to a true legend. RIP Sandy ( She'll always be Sandy to me )
She had that flirty but innocent vibe to her. Olivia you will be missed. R.I.P
Beautiful woman Olivia RIP
This song and performance gets me. There is another one on Midnight Special same song but she has a white outfit. Rest in peace Olivia. 💔
She was a true warrior. A beautiful woman inside and out. May she Rest In Peace. This song is from the movie Xanadu. Written by John Farrar, when most of the songs were written by Jeff Lynn from ELO. Movie is sweet. She is also a Dame, was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1979 New Year and Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2020 New Year Honours for services to charity, cancer research and entertainment.
I didn't know that she was knighted "A Dame". That is wonderful. Thanks for sharing that information.
@@dee_dee_place my pleasure, she was a wonderful woman.
goddess of her time
She was one of my first singing inspirations! Had the most pure clean honest sounds! Bless her family & Thank you Olivia! ❤ "Sam" shows it off perfectly!
Yep , pure , clean , honest sounds, sounds of an angel.
I grew up listening to her as a teen in Australia where she was already a superstar but afterwards a world superstar.
I had a huge crush on her as a teen boy , I was madly in love with her.
Now I'm 48 , living in Europe ,remember her so well.
RIP Olivia N. John .
A pure angel in looks and sound !
Sam is my favourite.
Wonderful woman. Beautiful voice. Lovely talent. A great loss. Such sad news. RIP Olivia. May the angels rejoice in heaven!
Thanks bro! I've been a fan of Livvy since I'd first heard her as a kid back in 1973 when I was 7 yrs. old. This is my favorite song & performance by her.
Please do a review of her with E.L.O. song, Xanadu.
R.I.P. Olivia. Thank you for the amazing music & movies. You're free, no longer in pain. 😪❤️
😢💔
Her voice was so angelic, and stunningly beautiful..i crushed on her big time when i was younger..RIP beautiful woman..you will be missed😞
Thanks for this. One of the beauties of getting older is that as I re-listen to music from my youth, I notice things I hadn't before; Listening to Olivia, it's as if she was always singing right to you. RIP.
She had the most intoxicating smile. I think it reflected a warm and positive person who always brightened everyone’s day.
She was such a part of my life in the late 70's and 80's. A beautiful person with a beautiful soul. She is truly a legend. ❤️
She had 10 number 1 hits threw out most of the 1970 Have you ever been mellow was her biggest ,, Its from 1975
Olivia had so many great songs. Magic was my favourite. What a voice and a talent, and a lovely lady. I'm feeling sad that her family, friends and her fans lost her.
This was the first song I ever heard by her. I was 8 years old. The song stunned me into immobility. Later that year, I saw the movie this is from, "Xanadu". I instantly fell in love. I've loved her incessantly, ever since.
Rest well, Olivia. Forever my Terpsichore.
Love her
The soundtrack to "Xanadu" is amazing!
She is magic! Love her so much. RIP, lovely Olivia. This 80s girl is a huge fan and will never forget you and your gorgeous voice. I love this video so much. I think it captures the fun she had sharing her amazing talent and beauty with the world.
Sad to see this lady pass. I always enjoyed listening to her music.
I would appreciate it if you would play "You are the one that I want" from The Musical "Grease" co-starring John Travolta.
It brings back a lot of fond memories.
No twerking. No X rated lyrics. No huge amounts of flesh showing. Just pure CLASS. RIP Olivia.
MAN!! she OWNS that STAGE, that CROWD, and that SONG!!!! Wow!!!
Always a favorite in America 🇺🇸. She was just precious. Loved by all. Missed tremendously. RIP SWEET LADY.
Love the channel!
Beautiful, humble, sweet, talented. One Olivia, loved her. Thank you my man....
Olivia Newton John is definitely more than an angel in Heaven now. She will be remembered as the stellar blonde Aussie whose presence, being, smile and all else could light up every stage and room. Rest in peace, sweet magic, one of a kind.
This song is deep. I just listened to it about twenty times.
I'm glad you did this, I'd asked so many times to react to her while she was alive. ..she had so many good songs
Growing up, Olivia Newton John was the perfect package - beautiful, lovely voice, and a kind disposition.
She was such a beautiful soul! I was diagnosed with breast cancer almost 11 years ago and I looked to Olivia for courage and strength on those days, and there were many, that I just wanted the insanity to stop! F**k the doctors! F**k the chemo! Check please! I'm ready to check out! BUT!! There was a different plan for me! I've been cancer free almost 6 years now! Thank you, Olivia! You remained a fierce warrior for 30 years! Rest easy and know your legacy will live on! I love you! I honestly love you!
Una estrella una dama super especial sin dejar recuerdos malos hermosa vos
La escuche a lo 13 años y me encanto. 💐💚💙💛
She can make a person cry. I know I did many times in the last few hours. I’m in my 50s and although I have never consumed her records, her music was always THERE. She was soulful, genuine, kind, and gorgeous inside and out singer. Such a loss. I will be reflecting on her hits from Grease, Xanadu (With ELO)and of course, Magic, Little of my Love and physical.RIP.
What a beautiful woman and performer in every way! My condolences to her family. May she RIP!
"A little more love" is a Fire 🔥 song from Olivia. She was amazing. Shit, she sold 100 million. Albums .
Grew up in the 70s-80s. She was it, that voice, those eyes, that blond hair... love you ONJ
Thank you brother----
A beautiful voice and beautiful person. Will be missed by many.
